Some moments won't wait for one to go fetch the camera...such it was with the view out my upstairs window one morning during this week of winter weather. The frosty wonderland being breathed into life by the final glimmers of sunrise light was simply magical. No hiking adventure required :-)
Hohe Tannen

Hohe Tannen in einsamer Nacht.
Dort wo Rübezahl mit seinen Zwergen
uns die Heimat, die teure, bewacht.

Series »Winter's Bone«
The last stand. Luckily it wasn't a strong wind, only now and then, the glorious decorated grasses with ice crystals shivered in a breeze. Fragile souls waiting for spring awakening. I looked at it with awe and respect, maybe Mr. Frost did too, who knows...
Thanks for take your time and look at my photo, much appreciated!
Snow and sunshine... a wonderful weekend at Southern Winestreet in Palatinate. www.facebook.com/sulamay.fotografie/posts/pfbid0ZGptHp9v9...

Thank You all for the kind words trough the Year...
Wish you all a happy new Year!
peace..
längst Entschlafenes ist erwacht...
Und so gehst du durch die stille,
wunderweiche Winternacht.

Einen schönen dritten Adventsonntag wünsche ich euch allen, peace.
Die guten Geister. In einer Kurve entlang der Straße festgesteckt.

So they can't blow away, the good spirits of the street – the trees are pretty steadfast. And unshakable, despite the wind and freezing cold. And – such a flurry of snow can do magic. Right?

Although it seems like I gave my last in image editing, my camera did a great job here and conjured up this mood in advance :-)

A wonderful morning at minus 5 ° Celsius above the Wittlich valley, seen from the so-called "Pichter Mountain". A few minutes later the sun rose in the haze behind the Moselle mountains.

We had frost yesterday which lasted all day long and into the night then it snowed so I'm excited to see what magic today brings even though it is much colder.
From a styled shoot at the Van Dusen Mansion in Minneapolis, MN. One of my favorite venues to work at. This was from a shoot in 2022 so its time to finally share some!
Shot for Bellagala.
3200 Views Thanks Everyone. “Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces up, snow is exhilarating; there is no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.” Your comments and faves are greatly appreciated.

2100 views Thanks Everyone. When Autumn and Winter collide it offers some of the most breathtaking scenes imaginable. Sunrise on Mirror Lake after an overnight snow. I did not have long to take pictures because the sun was melting the snow as I clicked away.

This particular picture was taken a few years ago but this is how it looks outside here right now.
Lots of snow covering everything and freezing temperatures.
No sign of spring.
But winter landscapes can be beautiful.

Check it out. If you like the winter wonderland type of pictures you'll find plenty of great ones there.
We are in the darkest time of the year.
Only about 6 hrs of daylight and getting less everyday. And even that is usually dim, no sunshine.
Many of us here suffer from winter depression – low mood, lack of energy, sleepiness.
But this harsh climate can give you some special photos if you can get yourself to put all those several layers of clothes on and go out to do some photography.
Beautiful Northern sunrise on a very cold winter morning.
Winter days are very short here but sunrises and sunsets can be magical.
Very cold and beautiful winter morning in the North, near the top of the world.
The temperature was about -25 C / -13 F.
An older photo from my archives, photographed with my first digital camera which I no longer have.
Car is running again so I was able to go to Washington Park here in Portland to enjoy some winter fairy tale.
It looks like it'll be very white for us - again - this year.
Winter Wonderland at the center of our village with the Christmas tree in front of our only grocery store.
Photographed yesterday, December 19 on my last shopping before the Holidays.
Next time I shop groceries will already be 2023.
Happy Holidays everybody.
Peace and love.
Fresh, white, fluffy - and seemingly endless in this part of the world.
Is anybody interested in import of some prime quality snow for whatever strange reason?
It's been the coldest December here in many years and right now heavy snow is causing traffic chaos with avalanches and collisions.
Where is this global warming?
We don't experience any of it in this part of the world.
Today is December the 6th and this photo was taken on December the 6th but some years ago.
The sunset gave the river this reddish color on that very cold winter day.
This is a beautiful and serene place, the spot where a park turns into a more natural forest.
This river separates the two - the tamed and the wild nature.
The world here has turned white because everything is covered in snow.
This picture was taken through a narrow opening in the snow and is showing a little piece of the white planet.
