This was one of those, "Stop the car !! I need to get out !!" moments.
Don't you just love the way a wooden cottage looks after a rain ?
The high contrast in colors and tones was worth the stop.
One more shot of the window boxes. I guess I like the way they came out. They add a certain gingerbread look to my house.
I must admit, I opened the gate to snap this front courtyard which is typical of so many Carmel cottages

This van was parked at Devil's Dyke yesterday. Approaching it from the side it looked like an ordinary white van, but as I walked past it this is what I saw. I can't tell you how much I wanted to open that door and see inside! I've deleted the number plate, to respect the owner's privacy, but otherwise this is exactly how it looked.
Seeing the entire roof covered in solar panels of this beautiful home & garden on Bowen Island BC feels a bit overwhelming despite the overall and admirable efficiency they provide.
Cropping the photo emphasizes the architectural detail in a way that takes out the overwhelm and allows focus on the geometric beauty present (IMHO). ;-)

When you enter St Stephen's Green, Dublin, from the Harcourt Street-Earlsfort Terrace entrance you can peer over a hedge to see this wonderful display of flowers in the back garden of the park-superintendent's house.
The house was built in the Queen Anne style in the late 19th century and goes with the job.

Well, LOVE is in the air, and this pair of woodland birds are contemplating their nesting supplies!
They just finished all the holly berries we had put in our window box for them during the recent snow storm. Wish we knew their species. They look similar to wrens but have distinctively spotted breasts.
Anyone have an identification?
We've never seen them before with their beautiful markings.
This collage was a challenge and one I could never recreate if I tried! I took full advantage of Sliders Sunday and pulled out all the stops!
A comically pareidolic window box in historic L'viv, Ukraine.

Another busy work day. I got out for a walk this afternoon again, and joined our regular Teams 'meeting' (social catch up) with Char and Mags while I walked - thought I might as well combine the two while I caught the last of the decent light. I introduced them to my geese friends on the heath ;)
Worked late-ish again, then a quick couple of games of darts with Tim, and then cooked up a big curry for dinner. Friday. Hooray!
A view of Calle Molin and Campiello Barbaro with a little bridge over the canal.
I borrowed the title for the picture from a film starring Katharine Hepburn that was filmed in that area:

Hey, Flickr. Been a while... apologies for that. My due date's in 12 days, so we've been busy getting things ready. The nursery's completed, the remodeling on the house is almost done, and the garden bed is constructed and planted. Hooray for progress.
Now, if only those 556 photos in my "to edit" folder would take care of themselves...
Image made with my Nikon F100.
