They were just merrily sitting at the window sill, greeting and inviting all passers by, setting sun softly kissing them and suggesting a cup of tea. I greeted them back with a few snaps and they smiled at me through my lens... What a lovely evening walk! :)

A visit to the picturesque village of Hallstatt in Austria. HFF.

……I guess if you can afford to have a place like this then why not! A shot from Bath from earlier in the year…

anyone who has ever had a calico or tortiseshell cat knows what I'm talking about when I use the term "tortitude"!

Oxalis articulata, known as pink-sorrel, pink wood sorrel, windowbox wood-sorrel, chari amilo, sourgrass, netho saag is a perennial plant species in the genus Oxalis native to temperate South America. It has been introduced in Europe in gardens and is now naturalized in these areas. The plant is susceptible to rust.

– a Southern saying, which means he/it is untrained and unseasoned, too new for prime time.

In contrast, the green wall of this old downtown Charleston home, although green, is not green as a gourd. It is time proven, ripened, having given a top-notch showing for centuries, probably displayed through time in various colors.

I love a window flower box and ones with geraniums always remind me of the Mediterranean. Saw these walking the streets of South Melbourne on my way to meet the Famous Flickr Five+ group yesterday morning.

it's GOOD to get back to photographing my favorite models!

A test shot with a new lens, well new to me. I didn’t get it to take macro shots, but being as this rose in our window box has decided to flower again it seemed like the perfect subject for a ‘first go’. If you look closely you can just see the legs of a spider behind the left hand petal.

I’m quite impressed so far with the weight and how compact this lens is, 300 grams, and a total of 10.5 cm total length from rear cap to lens cap, so let’s see how things go.

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.

I am a little late on this because I was traveling home for family and sort of missed a few things, hopefully gained other things in terms of the full human experience. You know how it goes. This is just a cell phone shot but I loved the light in it. Jarvis is sitting in my window box with my plants and my ripening avocado and a figurine of the rooster a grandma of mine now existing in a different reality had collected toppled over (probably by his super long tail). I loved the shadows in this too (but most of all him.) Jarvis Cocker, is, of course, one of the most handsome cats who has ever lived and so he gets away with waking me up for treats in the middle of the night, which is not my favorite thing about him!

I adopted Jarvis the summer after Trump was in office. I decided my brain needed a distraction from constant panic over the sad state of my country. Really feeling anxious about the recent debate with Biden and Trump so maybe I'll be getting a fourth cat soon.

A beautiful window with a lovely window box too. I've taken this before, but not from this angle.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

We’ve three window boxes full of petunias, they are growing really well, but unfortunately at the moment they are taking a bit of a battering with the rain.

Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere is in the Vezere valley between Montignac and Les-Eyzies. It is a beautiful Medieval village, set in a curve in the Vézere River. It is a small village of houses in the attractive local stone joined by narrow meandering pathways and alleys. Remarkably for a village of this kind in this location, Saint-Leon-sur-Vezere has not been overly renovated - rather "sympathetically restored".

I'll be around tonight to see all your beautiful HBW shots. Right now, I'm working on a deadline and can't get sidetracked.

(Hope I can hold out!)

: ) have a wonderful day!

Windows, shutters & seating outside the Three Bullet Gate pub in New Ross HWW! Taken back in June when I joined a very informative historical walking tour around the town. The vibrant flowers in the window box really stand out well against the proliferation of black.

YAY: our FIRST snowfall!

After a perfect day of relaxation with a warm, cozy fire in our wood stove and aromas of clove studded orange slices and cinnamon sticks simmering atop, we were surprised with our first snow, falling on our small bonsai plant and window box of:

frosted herbs: parsley❤sage❤rosemary❤thyme❤

Took this shot from our zen room looking out on the small porch and arch in the distance, with indoor tree reflections on the corner window! The capture was abstract enough, straight from the cam, but I felt the need to slide it a bit for my favorite day of the week!

Happy Sliders Sunday everyone!

Have a marvelous week!

Can't wait to wake up to the sun glistening on the gorgeous white blanket of snow!

One of the shops had this flower box at the renaissance, comes with spirits in the window. The last Friday Flora from the renaissance.

One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the decorating, especially with pine cones and greens!

I'm trying to "cut back" this year, but it's so tempting to want to put a swag around our front door!

This shot was taken at my favorite garden center where I get a lot of inspiration.

Happy Window Wednesday, everyone! Show us your decorations!

The seaside town of Tenby is famous for its colourful houses, but rather than shooting the obvious "big view" I went for some detail shots. The Leica X-U doesn't have to be used underwater!

A country garden that sits beside the trail heading south.

Someone really needs to return my brain...this title slump is driving me mad.

We just loved the hostess of our air B&B who is also an artist and jazz vocalist, in addition to many other talents! She felt an extra window would be a charming addition to the side of her house, which was next door to our cottage!
