what yer going to see in a windowbox in stoneybatter, dublin

With 80+ Degree weather this week in the middle of September I am so confused. I am self taught on PS and a fairly "Young" photographer so I am at the beginning stages of "Creating" a photo which Is what I did with this....So much to learn but having fun in the process! :)

I only use my own photos to create an image -

Tudor Square in the centre of Tenby. Pembrokeshire. West Wales. August. 2025.

The Visconti Bridge, is a fortified dam. It was built in 1393 by Gian Galeazzo Visconti. It is 650 m long and 25 m wide. The purpose of the dam was to make crossing the river more difficult as the river became wider and deeper, so taxes were collected more easily as people crossed the bridge. It also made defence much easier.

Perhaps I should tell you the story of Oktoberfest!

Once upon a time, there was a very pretty Princess Therese in the castle of the small town Hildburghausen.

In Munich the Bavarian King´s son heard of Therese´s beauty and decided to marry her in 1810. And because he was so happy about his wonderful bride, he organized a big event for all people of Munich to celebrate his wedding.

This was the day, when Oktoberfest was born!

P.S.: Therese´s grandson was the famous fairy-tale Bavarian King Ludwig, who became famous by his castles Neuschwanstein and Linderhof and by his friendship to Richard Wagner and by his mysterious death.

because this little snowman loves to hang out in all the seasons, but especially the HHH mornings in summer when the windows are all steamed up like melting snowflakes on a warm winter day!

The red geraniums in the window box just outside are happy too!

Or a lot of rain! What a long week...Is it Friday yet?

If you want, you can buy these things in the shop behind this window. And you can have a cup of coffee or tea there!

All sorts of things turn up in windowboxes now that it's too cold for flowers. In addition to the little evergreen tree, this one has Osage oranges, regular oranges, pine cones, and some seed clusters I can't identify. (See the next picture for a closeup.)

I was thrilled coming out of a narrow calle to find a small canal and a blooming display, even creepers, in window boxes... made my day even more joyful !!!!

Caught my eye in San Francisco this afternoon.

A window and flower tub.

Better viewed large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

What I loved about Venice is that almost every window had a flower box.

Window Wednesdays

I love this window with the window box. I saw this in Trumansburg, NY. My sister reproduced this in a painting and won an award from her Art Guild!

I just loved the apartment located on Paradise Court with the windowbox and birdcage. Yep, Venice again...or rather Venice still.

Tucked behind La Casa del Camino in Laguna Beach, CA

A pretty window box I saw in town. I think I should put something together along these lines too.

This was one of those, "Stop the car !! I need to get out !!" moments.

Don't you just love the way a wooden cottage looks after a rain ?

The high contrast in colors and tones was worth the stop.

One more shot of the window boxes. I guess I like the way they came out. They add a certain gingerbread look to my house.

I must admit, I opened the gate to snap this front courtyard which is typical of so many Carmel cottages

have a lovely weekend x

This van was parked at Devil's Dyke yesterday. Approaching it from the side it looked like an ordinary white van, but as I walked past it this is what I saw. I can't tell you how much I wanted to open that door and see inside! I've deleted the number plate, to respect the owner's privacy, but otherwise this is exactly how it looked.

Seeing the entire roof covered in solar panels of this beautiful home & garden on Bowen Island BC feels a bit overwhelming despite the overall and admirable efficiency they provide.

Cropping the photo emphasizes the architectural detail in a way that takes out the overwhelm and allows focus on the geometric beauty present (IMHO). ;-)
