WHY you ask?
Because I was asked to..

why couldn't the photos I took when I was out the other day be as good as this one? I do find it odd its the same day same outfit same makeup just three hours later so in truth I should look worse!
Yep I am being hard on myself again don't worry I do it lot it's a kind of motivational tool.
I do like this photo though and its unfair to compare this relaxed at home look to an on guard in a pub with my daughter and her boyfriend image.
This is a crudely photographed photo of a photo which was given to me by a late family friend and transport enthusiast circa 1970. As he was my parents generation, I assume that he took the photo himself. He was also a scholar of all things Wolverhampton Corporation so Brush bodied Daimler COG5 JW 8102 was well within his remit.
My personal fascination with this photo as a young lad lay in the main side advert. It was a variation on another which I'd seen on a London bus, which read 'Drink Ty-Phoo Tea for indigestion'. I can remember thinking what a rubbish advert, why would you if that was the result?
A Columbia black-tailed doe typically has one to two fawns per year.
The three fawns with this doe are a mystery. Is one adopted? Is there another doe hiding nearby?
I never found out, so however you answer these questions, your answer is as good as any I could provide.
The doe with fawns was captured in a field of wildflowers at Tom McCall Nature Preserve on an early July morning moving out of woods surrounding a year round pond.
Notice how the fawns' spots rhyme the flower pattern.

I just might not have done the same thing...

This is just meant to show the numbers of deer that show up at breakfast looking for a handout! (It is a photo merge of three images, so is not going to be technically correct.)
There are eighteen deer in this shot and there are more in the front yard. This is actually the side of our house. As you can see they have nibbled every twig and trimmed the cedars. The green covers (straight back) are on spruce we planted and we wanted to stop the deer eating them. They really prefer the cedars anyway... but better safe than sorry!
This is what we see through the sliding glass doors in the dining room. The lynx walked from right to left back behind those covered spruce and the photo of it's rump was taken diagonally to the left where that other group of deer are.
The deer are quite curious and watch us eat. Our dog, Kita, sits right here and watches them. They are skittish but only run off if any of us makes a sudden move. Lately, with all the predators around, they are really nervous.
Why we thought was the last day of DB operations with the Santon Iron Ore and 60019 named Port of Grimsby & Immingham is here
Art work on building above Why Not? in Galashiels, Scottish Borders it depicts the iconic Braw Lads’ Gathering and is intended to be instantly visible to visitors arriving in Galashiels from Douglas Bridge. The green background is meant to symbolise the town’s surrounding countryside
I have two slots left, so after this better go and delete a few more but since I'm on the mood, did my make up a little different and the wig is one I've hardly used why not a portrait. Enjoy!
Bit of a trigger warning. This one's dark.
Another attack, and another instance of the media using pictures of leaflets asking "Why?" laid down on the street, amidst the candles and plushies in memoriam of the deceased, to symbolize the shock and helplessness of the public in the face of what happened.
Frankly, I've grown rather tired of that. And, what's more, I can't help but question if whoever wrote that leaflet, is really asking why, or if it's really more to show helplessness disguised as compassion. Neither of which is the same as asking why. "Why" denotes the question for an explanation, a reason, a meaning, understanding.
In the past, I sometimes used to explain "why" someone would do that. Why a person would go and attack a bunch of random people who never did anything to him whatsoever, who he never even spoke a word to. Usually it comes down to mental health issues, to bad company or none at all, often an adverse childhood. The subconscious plays a role. And all that paired with the feeling of having been screwed over big time by modern civilization. It's is one of the golden rules I aim to live by: People don't choose who they grow up to be. They don't even choose who they *hope* to grow up to be, for fuck's sake. Forgive them for they don't know what they do, one could call it - not saying that was easy.
But people rarely like to hear that, they'll get emotional and confrontational. Suddenly you're not explaining, but justifying, condoning, endorsing, sympathizing, and other things along those lines. And maybe I did in some cases. I certainly still know in my teenage years, I was another Columbine in the making. Saw the pictures on TV and immediately knew I wanted this to be my way to go. Shoot dead a few schoolmates and then blow my own brains out. And if I hadn't the balls for the latter, then the cops would do it for me. Things just didn't end up unfolding that way.
Anyway, to link this into the topic at hand: You've asked a question, and I replied to the best of my knowledge. The thing is just, you asked the wrong person. One who actually can answer your question. The figurative judge who, at least to a degree, knows what it's like to be a murderer, because he knows he could've become one on a different timeline. And who also has had the opportunity to sit down and talk with a few of them.
If you don't like the answer - and this assumes that in reality you already knew what the answer was going to be, which might not always be the case - then don't ask. Simple as that. Then don't write "Why?" on your leaflets. Write "Asshole!" instead. Either as an insult to process your anger, or as an Ärzte quote, recognizing the tragedy as the culmination of a chain of events, on which nobody involved would have chosen to embark on, if asked beforehand.
You can see he's wondering why a crazy photographer is standing in the rain photographing him as he passes by. The answer is the glow in wet paving, needed another element to make an image. If it had not been for his expression, I would never have kept this. One of those moments that just happen.
The recent foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in Surrey was probably caused by leaking drains, heavy rain and building work, a report has found.
The Health and Safety Executive said it was not clear which of the two labs at Pirbright, four miles from where the disease was found, were responsible.
Chief vet Debby Reynolds said Surrey was disease-free and the surveillance zone would be lifted on Saturday.
The environment secretary said there was no excuse for the outbreak.

I just had to have this, and why not? It's flashy, it has a peace sign on, and it holds coffee. It's a win/win.
Breathing in, I touch the sorrow I have caused.
Breathing out, I hold it with compassion.
Breathing in, I smile at the miracle of being.
Breathing out, I ask—why not joy?
There should be laughter after pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
So why worry now?"

One of the minor highlights of the Sikkim trip for Nila was two young monks in the monastery singing the silly Tamil song which went viral on the net and became a rage few months ago. "Why this Kolaveri (murderous rage) kolaveri?' went the song. made up of childish lyrics and a simple beat, reaching zillion hits on YouTube and starting off flash mobs in far off places.
In a lighter vein, I told her that that was the essence of Buddhism. In a way. But seriously speaking, why places like Sikkim and their neighbour Bhutan are supposed to be high on happiness index though their economic indices are not great. We were very curious to find out.
Few days in Sikkim showed as many sights and interactions not normally seen in the cities we have lived in. We found that people are patient; cars let others pass; drivers don't honk; people seem to be less conscious about money; even small houses have nice green plants and flowers; in general they appear very contented.
Is it true for hill life in general? Pretty isolated from others with resilience to take on tough life of cold winters, landslides, material shortages and in general a relative lack of options. Or has it something to with Buddhism which keeps talking about sufficiency.
Once when a driver behind us honked so hard (must have been from the plains) our driver didn't get annoyed but let him pass saying that he might have an emergency!
Took this shot when I was traveling through Eastern Washington State

This bathroom shot was a quick grab. It wasn't until yesterday, as I was balancing out the light and so on, that I noticed the toilet paper. If I noticed the day I took the shot, I could have lifted the lid, and I'd know why. Ignorance is bliss, they say.

Had an afternoon after travel to get out and grab some images. Weather was changing as were light conditions so contrast was going to be a compromise. Just happy to be able to wander around with social distancing (didn't see more than two people in the afternoon). Same use of Arista Ultra with Rodinal/Xtol. Thanks for my fellow flickeranians who contine to inspire.
