(that's from The Things They Carried)
... not so sure why my photos have been crap lately. actually thats a lie, I know why. It's because I've thinkers block (like writers block only dealing with any sort of voluntary brain activity.)
There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why... I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?

wish you a good start into the weekend :)
There are hundreds of dead and dying salmon around why the interest in one particular fish. Few Bald Eagles, lots of Gulls, and way more dead fish.
Light was too bright and contrasty, but you deal with it as best you can.
Moving stuff around in our storage compound today in preparation for tomorrow's POPS rally, gave a rare chance to photograph one of my two ex PMT 'Y' type AEC Reliances. Sorry it's just a phone camera picture, but it conveys the sorry state the old girl's fallen into during her years of storage. If the fact that these were always my favourite buses in the PMT fleet of my youth, and that I've latterly cornered the market on them isn't sufficient to get me to make a start on restoration, then I don't know what is!
Ex PMT 169, FEH 169J is a semi-auto AEC Reliance '691 with Alexander 'Y Type' DP49F bodywork.

we may ask, 'Why me?' The answer is to this question...
He knows, but He isn't telling... yet."

To answer a comment, my studio for a photo like this is nature and the outdoors. I carry my camera with me at all times. If it is raining outside, it appears in the photograph. I never *stage* a photo.

Fangirling! Sure, I'll admit that there are girls we've all seen on the 'net who you'd love to meet. And SCC is the best place to do that! Here I am with the stunning Heidi Phox... someone who I have been in awe of forever, and was even more blown away meeting her in person!!! (Yes, fans... she's every bit as gorgeous in person... and a really, really nice lady to boot!!)
SCC... a great place to meet your idols and make them your friends!!
I used to not care much about these flowers everyone calls weeds and pulls from their lawns, but seeing them blossom so beautifully this year has really changed my mind about them.. They're gorgeous little flowers, and the bright yellow and green color scheme just screams SPRING!! after the long, cold winter. I really found it hard to choose just one to post. Here are your winners, and their little sibling not yet bloomed below.
Different rear tires on this rat rod pick up.
Went to a Pistons & Pin Ups Car Show at a drive-in theater for a very short time. Lots of rat rods and other hot rods. Didn't stay to get some of the many pin up models, maybe next time. Sorry for so many photos....again! :)
Murray's Mill Annual Ice Cream Social: what a winner for our 1st visit!

– Mini-Themed Album Murray's Mill Site: Ice Cream Social –
Catawba, NC – 2018JUL08 – Murray's Mill Historic Site:
Why did we go to Murray's Mill after church this morning?
A couple months ago, in May, Joe met Jennifer, Murray's Mill Historic District site manager, at a Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary church archive workshop in Columbia, South Carolina; at that time he told her we would like to come to her ice cream social today.
And we did!
We had a great time at Murray's Mill Annual Ice Cream Social! And we want to return for a waterside hike and picturesque picnic at the last milling complex in the county, meticulously preserved and interpreted by the Catawba County Historical Association.
See it soon, even without the free ice cream – an awesome treat! – or one of their other events usually attended by 5,000 people!
It was a wonderful day, with a welcome high of 84⁰F (below-average temperature for July), clear blue skies, pleasant low humidity...
Going home at 4:44 p.m., my cell phone battery was at 44% and I had 555 captures! Who could've guessed? Plus Joe took all of 12!
I seldom video, but both Joe and I took videos, plus photos.
The best of our 567 captures are in 2 mini-themed albums:

Why dose the world always take The Innocent and the lovely and then trample them? Sigh, I hate getting walked all over.
In memory of Baby Tristan, Baby Thomas( my cousin) and for all those who have lost a baby.
Today 17 babies will die, the tragic victims of stillbirth or neonatal death. This is a statistic that is seeing no signs of decreasing, and behind each number is a family rocked to the foundations by the death of their baby.
This shocking figure, the loss of 6,500 babies every year, is something the public is not generally aware of. Most people think stillbirths don’t happen in the 21st century. Yet stillbirth in the UK is 10 times more common than cot death.
At Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity, we feel this number of deaths is totally unacceptable. We have launched the Why17? campaign to raise awareness of this devastating loss and to ask the question:
“Why are 17 babies a day dying and what can be done to halt this national tragedy?”
“I just want to raise awareness of stillbirth. I had no idea that this could happen to me

When I see ladies shoes like this with natural leather I fall to pieces as they are so supple and beautiful! Suade and patent leather does NOT arouse me, but this leather does! Ever since I can remember my Mom wearing shoes like this with the pointy toes got me hard at age 4! Your thoughts please!!!!
In appalling light it is tempting to keep the camera in its case. After all it's likely just another class50 at best. However as it happens this is I think the only pairing of 50's in different liveries actually on a train.
50038 'Formidable' and 50013 'Agincourt' arrive at Oxford from the capital in November 1983. Both locos are refurbished 50038 in November 1980 and 50013 in June 1980 but did not receive Large Logo livery until September 1984.
