This is another safety today. My friend came in from Philly for a couple weeks of his summer break. I want to take a portrait of him, but I don't know if I'll be able to get it tonight, we'll see what happens. If not, then I'm sure I get one before he leaves, I just wanted to have a photo instead of scrambling while I'm out with everyone.
There are quite a few things wrong with this photo. The focus is off, like, a lot. The lighting isn't what I's want it to be at all really. I should have had a softbox or something small to the top right, maybe use a narrower focal length so you don't actually see the inside of the fridge, just the door. I would have also used another strobe, maybe gelled to light up the back of me/the room a little bit, since I pretty much just fade into it. But I didn't have the time :S.
Edit: Welp, plans fell through. Probably going to be seeing everyone tomorrow. I had a feeling this would happen since he just got into town, which is one of the reasons for the safety :P.

Seeing as this isn't MY apartment yet, I settled for leftover Chinese... I have a bad stomach, so my "diet" consists of a lot of unexciting things. White rice, steamed chicken and carrots.... yea, that about sums it up. haha.
ER told Rika that we had bought some whole ginseng from Waterloo Street for making Korean ginseng soup.
Today she searched the www for a recipe, which required fewer ingredients when compared to the soup we tried at Republic Foodcourt.
Although we have a frozen bird in the freezer, ER and her chose to go down to Cold Storage Supermarket in Sengkang to get a chilled chicken as well as ingredients to bake cookies. Somehow, the chilled birds from this supermarket always taste better.
In the finishing product, our very 1st Korean ginseng soup, the broth was refreshingly subtle in taste and the chicken was tender and tasty. And the glutinous rice was filled with all the goodness and flavours of the ingredients used! Yummy!
Samgyetang in Korean language is chicken soup. To prepare this a young chicken is cleaned and stuffed with various ingredients including glutinous rice, ginseng, garlic, ginger and red dates and then boiled to produce a delicious broth. Ingredients are used whole in this soup.
Interestingly, they are many other combinations of ingredients, which are used to make this chicken soup. Chestnuts, pine nuts and wolfberries are among them.

pub lunch
the funny thing about pub lunches is that choosing the beer is so much easier than choosing the food...
This weekend we took a road trip to Dumbfunkshire. We laughed, talked, wrestled beds, drank beer and wine, and had excellent curry - and that was only the Saturday!! The trip culminated in Sunday lunch with Nickster, Morse, and junior in The Bell pub, along with some serious menu gazing...
