my first non people pic of my 52 week project :o) took this on the moors on wednesday, really wanted to go jumping around in that huge puddle in my wellies hehe :o)

well, it's been a good week this week, no really annoying customers to moan about (makes a change)!!

*wednesday went for a pub lunch with nem and claire, was lovely to meet claire and have a chat about photography :o)

*started reading the book 'outpost', so far so good :o)

* did my good deed when i was given a fiver too much in my change at morrisons, ran all the way back to return it as i'd have felt too guilty keeping it.

*offered to work a couple of hours today as we had loads of stock coming in, was weird working sunday but quite nice :o)

okay, i know i said we didnt have any annoying customers, well i lied ha :o) today we had a young lad in, he opened an aftershave and sprayed himself, i told him he couldnt do that as we dont have testers, he then picked up another one and did the same so i told him off again. he then picked up a sealed bottle and walked off with it, we followered him into the next isle and he'd ripped it open (cheeky little sod!!), so sarah marched him to the till to make him pay for it, yelling at him hehe :o) he said he didnt have enough money to pay for it. sarah got angry and said 'are you stupid or just ignorant' hehe :o) afer a few minutes of us telling him off he said he had his bus fare he could use to pay for it (dont feel sorry for him, he was a little shit!! and i seriously doubt thats all the money he had on him, and if it was, good, might teach him a lesson).

* anyway, i only work 3 and a half hours and was home by 1, im now off all next week woohoo :o)

Here we go!

We start week 1 with the "Gold thingy" from Ryan (eldeeem)

Please read the rules!

Part restricitons:

- color is irrelevant

- the sides have to be built with 1x2s (you can use plates or tiles instead of jumper plates)

- the hidden sides look the same as the visible sides

If you solved it, show it privately to me and you can start solving the Follow-up challenge

Have fun!

Week #9: This picture of Brock was taken, specifically for the 52 weeks for Dogs Group. The boyz had a grooming appointment today. Max his haircut, Brock just a bath. Being groomed tends to turn him into a big "fluff ball". They really needed it after the beach trip this weekend. Somehow, I've caught another cold! I'm never sick, so I'm not sure what's up! It was damp and rainy outside today. I just couldn't find the motivation to get Brock out on a photo walk. So, we settled for an indoor picture.

Technically : Switched to the 50mm fixed lens today. I had to use the flash (bounced). I switched the focus to "spot" and I increased the f-stop to 2.5 (or something like that). All these changes seemed to help me get the focus on the eye which I've been struggling with. I am laying on the floor to shoot this (on my tummy). Nothing done but adjustments in Lightroom 2. I'm really enjoying this program much better than Version 1.4. Glad I upgraded, now I'm waiting for my Scot Kelby book Illona recommended.

Assessment: What do you think about the composition. I tried to put the snout/head slopping on the diagonal line. Is the crop too tight.?

Theme Of The Week - Sky

The aim for this photo was to add a 'fall' effect on the photo. As the photo was based around a forest and leaves I thought this would be a reasonable edit. Starting off I used 'Selective Colour' and changed the greens and the yellows until the colours of the photo starting being more similiar to those in autumn. After, I then added levels and colour curves to get an appropriate colour correction. After this I realised the grass was at an unrealistic colour, so I decided to overlay the grass with a green brush and then changed the opacity. I feel this edit has worked perfectly to show off autumn colours.

I took this on friday and edited it today. The girl on this photo is Marie :).

Marie, Meike and I took some photos outside. I will upload some other shots from friday, too :).

Well this week was nice :).

Wednesday we went to the theater in Hannover to see Superhero from school. I think this play was weird. It's about a boy, who is going to die and just wanna have sex before he will die.

On Friday I was on a party with some friends it was a bit boring, but okay ;D.

"Where there is cake, there is a hope. And there is always cake" D. Koontz

And this is raspberry cake with custard mousse.

It was such an amazing concert night. I've been a big fan of DJ Bobo for at least half of my life and his concerts are amazing.

Last week was so exhausting, so much going on in life right now it's hard to find time to take pictures.

47 weeks to go.

Week 32 Technical: HDR

Winter Wonderland continued...

34/52

Liam was re-paid with another visit from the Aliens who kidnapped him and the Hulk months ago. They explained how they were using the Righteous sword and the Hulk's DNA to create a new evil Righteous sword!

But unfortunately the were attacked and The Evil Righteous sword was stolen! Liam already needed to find the Great dragon wizards brother so he refused to help them after what they did!

Bought some picture mounts for a competition and decided to put myself behind them first. Was also a good exercise in using my 2 strobes.

well it could do with a wash... sorry its not very good this week been quite busy with school work!! enjoy

Canon EOS Rebel T3

ISO200

f/5.6

Exposure: 1/125 sec.

Oil drop photography, this was almost my shot of the week. I used a cloud texture in the processing of this to give it that soft pastel look.

it's been quite a crappy week, monday i had to go to the dentist (after being in agony last week), luckily i didnt need root canal (woohoo!!), they just gave me a filling :o) after the last time i needed a root canal (after biting into my tongue stud!!), i've been thinking all week about taking my tongue stud out for good, the decision kinda got taken out of my hands on friday when i accidentally swallowed it oooops!! its now healed up, it feels weird not having it there, i've had it in for 14 years but at least it wont damage my teeth :o) i now only have 10 piercings....

*i've also been full of cold this week and just felt like crap :o(

we haven't had too many annoying people in work, i saw a woman open a can of coke and just as i was about to tell her off for opening it before paying for it, it squrted out and went all over her hehe :o) she looked so shocked and was about to put it on the shelf and leave it when she saw me watching her so she had to pick it back up hehe, that really made me chuckle, i didnt even get her a tissue, thought she deserved it ;o)

*i had a weird guy asking if we get busy on bonfire night!!!

*helen had a customer asking if bird seed was suitable for pigeons, hmm last i heard a pigeon was a bird....

* had a lovely guy come in work saying i was doing a good job and that i was very smiley, bless him :o)

*megan turned 11 :o)

* took this shot yesterday in the woods, i found a cool new little spot :o) and yes, i did lay on the wet ground and get covered in dirt (while holding slaines lead and making sure she didnt wander into the shot), hope no one saw me hehe :o)

been a bit of a crazy week at work urgh :(

spent my day off with nem and nanny, nem did my hair and nails :) then i got home and felt i needed to dig out the fake blood and do a freaky pic for my pic of the week :)

sat night me, Helen and Nathaniel went for drinks with Christina and Kirsty for christinas birthday :) :)

spent this morning on a shoot then the rest of the day in my jim jams hehe :)

Boomer and Genna sharing some H2O after a run through the woods and meadows.

52 weeks for dogs. These shots are SOOC.

This photograph was actually taken last week. I didn't have a chance to upload it but now I finally have my laptop and a stable internet connection to do so. This was actually during my flight to San Francisco to see Jay, and hopefully go on some wonderful adventures together.

Don't you ever remember dreaming, wondering as a child what it would look like, or even feel like to walk on soft large fluffy clouds. Looking out that window it was as if I was to some extent living that childhood dream.

LUDU is not a baby anymore. Now, she is Miss LUDU.

Ludu has grown up now and thus, she lost her innocent and cute look. But still, she tries her level best to keep up a girl's teenage look.

View the complete set till date.

So, I'm back from Rumania and I hardly took any photos...but yeah...I hope I'll get more time next week ;)

Anyway I wish everybody a happy new year! Hope you all have snow where you are, cause I don't have any!! And this really bothers me -.-....

For the Week 5 competition at LCOM

Missed some good ones while I was setting up. Finally got set up and was able to capture two lightning bolts in one shot. There were others, but the bolts were behind the clouds. Hopefully next time. We rarely get this kind of weather in Hawaii. But we've already had more than a few in the past three months.

My entry to Moda Bake Shop Sliced Contest (Auditions).

This version of my week planner is designed for two family members (each member has its own row) - half of charm pack is needed to make it (for colorful parts) plus fabric for white sashing, fabrics for back and binding.

In version for four family members one charm pack is needed (for colorful parts) plus fabric for white sashing, fabrics for backing and binding.

It can be also used at the office.

Corners of each square are pockets to put there cards with plan for each day of the week or another information. These corners were made from 1/4 of charms and they are sewn between the rows.

Buckle is used to indicate day of the week. When the day changes, buckle is moved to another.

Depending on weight of the buckle (mine is quite heavy) buttons for secure the strip are needed.

Machine quilted (cotton batting was used) and machine bound.

I’ve got a bit behind due to holiday and illness and have missed for week 29 (as need my SLR for it) but here’s week 30 - colourful. The turquoise beautiful waters of the Bahamas are unmistakable and so beautiful - apparently caused by the reflection of conch shell particles that make up so much of the sand. Not sure if this is scientifically true but I like to think it is. 😁

I went on a weekend trip with my parents to the Olympic Peninsula. This photo taken by my dad, who shouted out things like, "Try to twirl your dress a little!" "Stop hopping on the rocks, you'll slip!" and "That angle makes you look fat."

a little sunset shoot with my niece :)

Taken at Weeks Falls in WA which is right off of I-90. Nice little spot.

4 second exposure f/22. Canon 5d Mk II, Canon EF70-200mm f/2.8L.

I almost didn't go outside to take my photo today because it was kind of cold, but I'm so glad I did. What's interesting is that despite so many people walking by, only one stared at me for a minute. I guess everybody's used to the NYU art kids taking pictures in the park all the time. :)

(P.S. I like this, but I wish I could have taken it at a wider aperture. The only thing I really want for Christmas is a 50 mm 1.8 (or 1.4!) lens.)

Theme Of The Week - Out with the old

slaines face is too funny :)

Wow, five weeks have passed since I started this project! Time is running...

Today I took my bike to take pictures. I haven't done this for months you know? ;)

This week I got the new album from Switchfoot called "Vice Verses" and it's sooo awesome! I recommend this to all! :D

Oh and I play the drums in a band called Zero Gravity and we released our first single "Hey Summer" with a musicvideo ;) I filmed and also cut it, hope you like it! www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGNQlLtQqpA&feature=channel_v...

72 hours. I feel sick, I'm barely awake, and I haven't cracked a smile in weeks. I'm just sitting here, wasting away looking at a pile of uselessness. All these papers, these articles, the photos...every single one of them a dead end! I'm empty handed, with still no idea where he is. Where is he!? I just want one little clue, that's all. Something to give me a slight idea of where I should look. Apparently I'm asking too much. It's been three agonizing weeks, and all I have is paper covering this desk and wall. I....I've had it. I just want this nightmare to end! I'm sick and tired of not knowing what's going on with Tim! I'm sick of wondering if he's alive or not! All I want is---

"S...Stephanie?"

Mike? It's so late. What's he doing here?

"Yeah?"

"Me and Jerrick shook down the Broker. He had nothing."

"So another dry trail?"

"Indeed. I'm...I'm very sorry."

".......I had it......."

"What?"

I wasn't lying. I really did have enough. and I was done bottling it all up, too. I tore myself out of my chair and kicked it across the room. Everything in my head just seemed to...break.

"I'M SICK OF THIS!!! I'M SICK OF DEAD ENDS!!! I'M SICK OF NOTHING HAPPENING!!!"

By this time I've knocked all the scraps off the desk and let it all hit the floor. There was a laptop and some other electronics that broke once they met the floor tiles. I was just too angry, I didn't care. When the desk was empty, I picked it and threw it against the wall, hitting a cabinet along the way.

"I JUST WANT IT TO END!!! I JUST WANT HIM BACK!!!"

I stand there in the mess I made, papers all over the floor, a broken chair, dents in the wall from the desk slamming it. This is where everything shifted. I go from standing up completely blinded by anger, to just falling against the wall, my hands buried in my face, crying like a baby. Truth be told, I don't think I've sobbed this hard since when I was eight and my mom nearly overdosed herself. And I thought that was the worst day of my life. Looks like I have a new one now. I just want to roll over and die now. I can't take anymore of this. I...I wish Tim was here.

"Stephanie....please, listen to me."

Mike again. I get a bad feeling he's asked that more than once now. I was too busy crying my eyes out to hear him the first few times...I pull my face out of my hands and look up at him, tears still rolling down my face. I look in his eyes. I've never seen such a solemn look in someone's eyes

"Stephanie....Timothy is one of the kindest people I've met in my life. I can't begin to tell you how much I owe him. It's the whole reason I'm even here. Whoever did this will pay, Stephanie. We will find Timothy and bring him back home. I swear upon my wife and son's grave, we will. Even if it kills me."

"*sniff* ...th-thank you...."

"Don't worry....Why..why don't you get some rest? I'll clean this up for you, okay?"

"Okay...."

Great, a night of crying myself to sleep. Just what I want to do....

Since ‘The Wild One’ in the 1950s the world has been fascinated with the mythic culture of the American biker. Who are these people with the loud motorcycles, leather jackets, tattoos, and long beards? Where are they going as they roar through town in large packs? And what do they do when they arrive wherever they’re going? I RIDE is the film that finally tells the true-to-life story of the biker community in America.

Through the eyes and music of The Fryed Brothers Band, I RIDE will take you on an illuminating road trip through the biker world: bare knuckle fights you actually sign up for, wild bar-b-ques and camp outs, and partying raw and rowdy at some of the biggest hard core biker festivals. This trip will wind up at Sturgis, South Dakota for a Fryed Brother Band performance to end all performances.

The Fryed Brothers Band? They’re the best band you’ve probably never heard of. For 29 years they’ve been the exclusive ‘house band’ of America’s Biker Movement. Every year The Fryed Brothers headline most of the preeminent biker events in America including the Easyriders Show in Sacramento, CA, Rip’s Bad Ride in Irvine, CA, Ghost Mountain Riders Show in Salinas, CA, the Circle of Pride in Iowa, and most importantly, ‘Sturgis Bike Week,’ the largest gathering of bikers in the world, which completely takes over the small town of Sturgis, South Dakota every August to celebrate this outlaw culture.

When they were young, Harry and Tommy Fryed’s older brother Mark died in a accident while riding his beloved Harley. The brother’s resolved then to keep Mark’s memory alive through a devotion to the motorcycle culture and the music he loved... and thus was formed The Fryed Brothers Band. The song ‘I Ride’ -- a key song in their repertoire and in the documentary -- is a tribute to their fallen brother.

I RIDE, the film, is a tribute to their perserverance, dedication and love of all things biker.
