I decided last week since I am now into the last thirteen weeks of this self portrait series I should really go all out to create excellent work. I hope I can pull it off. I've had it in mind for awhile to shoot myself in my red coat, with umbrella, down at the ocean in some way and chose today to do it.
A note on the title: this isn't about any personal contemplation I am doing. It just seemed like the appropriate title for the shot.
I think I actually got a bit bigger this week and have also gotten comments from strangers about my pregnancy! :)
This week's theme is Winter/Summer (depending on which part of the world you live in!) What a shame it wasn't while the snow was on the ground!
I was going to take a picture of my hat, gloves, scarf etc, but settled on this bare tree instead!
week off this week woohoo :)
mon: today was my amazing nannys birthday :) :) went to see her with nem, mum and colin, all had dinner together :)
tues: started the dreaded decorating, bye bye teal and brown, hello plum and grey ;) slit my arm with the wallpaper scraper and tripped over about 12 times.... saw the sun was setting so had a break and took slaine on the moors to catch the sunset :)
weds: oh my christ i ache all over :( :( spent the rest of the day decorating, got a little freaked out when i found a photo behind the wallpaper of 2 kids, weird!! i put it safe so i could show alex when he got home from work, but when i went to get it later, it had disappeared!!! weird.....
thurs: nem took me for more wallpaper, i then bought us dinner as a thank you (or in her words, a bribe ;) then spent a few hours finishing the decorating, have to say it looks pretty fabtastical ;)
fri: spent the day with lyndsey, we took slaine for a long walk, then went to nannys and took her out for a belated meal :) had such a lovely day, cant wait to do it again :)
sat: me and alex went to leeds to a video gaming market, bought a sealed game for the jaguar, then went nuts in the lego shop and bought loads of lego star wars magnets :) went to forbidden planet and bought another death's head so one could be opened, yep we're total geeks :) :) as we were walking around leeds we saw one of the guys from the tv show 'the undateables', oh my goodness, too cute :) when we got back to bingley we went for a drink then went home, watched some big bang and had a kip. then pizza night hehehe :) watched battlestar gallactica then some more big bang, ended up going to bed around 2:30 :)
sun: had a nice lie in :) roast dinner is cooking as i type, then later we're gonna watch the last episode of the walking dead before the new one comes on tomorrow :)
22/52: Shimamui Coast
August 26 - September 1
This coast chosen as one of Japan's 100 best shores and it is a part of Shakotan Peninsula in Shiribeshi, on the west coast of Hokkaidō, Japan.
It is a mountainous peninsula which projects some 30 kms into the Sea of Japan. The Shakotan Peninsula forms part of the Niseko Shakotan Otaru Kaigan Quas- National Park.
From the car park, there is a narrow dark tunnel to get to the look out point and from there you can see the coast line from the top. There are stairs to get to the bottom and it is only 5-10mins walk.
The only sad thing about this place was rubbish...
If you are interested....

what a week. there have been highs and there have been some pretty nasty lows. all in all, i'm just realy glad that the weekend is here and i am determined to spend it pampering myself and being nice to my doggie.
I was on a photo walk yesterday to Glendalough House in Co. Wicklow. I didn't expect to get a shot for 'Sport' week there. However, I spotted these out riding in the distance. I would have liked that they were a bit closer to me but when I uploaded the shot last night, I quite liked the overall scene and the position of the horses as they traverse the brow of yonder hill :-)

Last week was spent bending fingers and stretching, rotating my arm...as well as taking pain meds.
My hand is very swollen and the thumb is partially numb. I can make a 1/2 fist. I can now sort of hold a pen, fork, sheet of paper and apply most makeup. I can almost hunt and peck on the keyboard. I have no strength to pull, turn, twist etc. yet.
I look forward to being able to take a shower, tie my shoes, and drive a car. You know, all the things that we take for granted everyday.
didn't have bunting...improvised with rope and measuring tape...

works been okay, had to yell at a lady (i caught her with her shoes off, spraying loads of deodarent on her feet, ugh!!) i told her she'd have to pay for the spray to which she replied 'oh, am i not allowed to do that?!... erm no, stupid woman!!!).
got to work with sarah friday and saturday (which is always good :o)
had some news today, alexs uncle died :o( i only met him once but he was a lovey man, its so sad.......
Year X Week 44 27/10-3/11/19
Although these shots were taken a week earlier, I was suffering from a case of camera fatigue after the trip.
Anyway, this was taken at Caesars Palace at Journey's residency at the Colosseum. What a concert, what a band and what a voice. Also loved it when the usher says "Don't stop believing" as he collects your ticket. More soon... faithfully.
30 Weeks have passed and this has honestly been one of the most heartfelt projects I've taken on. It's intimate, but not in the way you'd think. Intimate in that I've gotten to know Em on a close level as she opened herself to capturing her changes, her emotions, her overall self the past few weeks. As someone who currently has no interest in having kids this has been a fascinating thing to explore and partake in.

i tried to work with curves and textures. not sure about this.
it's another shot from this day.

Mh, that week was good. I had to go to the kindergarten because of social work for school. it was fun, but also very exhausting. :) They are so cute, I think I'll miss them. On Saturday I met some friends and on Sunday we watched the football game between Germany & Australia (yeeah, Germany won) and I took some photos with a friend. :) _______________________________

only 30 weeks left
On 27 September 1942 the SS Lulworth Hill left her home port of Hull. Only two from her thirty nine crew would see home again. The Lulworth Hill joined a convoy, off the coast of Scotland, protected by the British Royal Navy. Her first destination was Brazil. Within hours the convoy was attacked by a German submarine pack and four ships sunk. The Lulworth Hill reached Brazil in twenty eight days. Her second stop was Cape Town and then on to Alexandria to deliver a cargo of aircraft parts, high explosives and bombs for the Africa campaign. From Alexandria it was on to Mauritius to pick up a cargo of food stuff. She was then ordered home without the expected navy escort.
On 19 March 1943 the SS Lulworth Hill was attacked and sunk by the Italian submarine Leonardo Da Vinci off the coast of W Africa. Fourteen of the thirty nine crew made it to a life raft (one crew member was taken POW by the submarine) the rest were assumed lost.
With very little food and water, one by one, the fourteen survivors succumb to starvation and dehydration. After 50 days adrift Kenneth Cook and Colin Armitage were picked up by HMS Rapid on 7 May 1943. Frank Weekes (my uncle), engineers mate, died at 6 pm on 17 April 1943 (Day 29).

This my dad George. He'll be 91 next month. He's completely "with it", lives alone, is very independent and gets annoyed if I want to help him do anything !
In the RH photo I bounced the flash of the wall to the right (his left), to try something different.
There is no post processing other than the vignette to block out the background a bit.

Hello to our Final 14 contestants and welcome to 'The Face'! You are all here in this competition for the same dream of becoming an international top model who will become one of the most in-demand girls in the industry. There are 14 of you, but only 1 of you can come out as supreme and score the title of 'The Face' aswell as our fabulous prizes.
Before we begin judging, its time for you to meet the judges of the cycle. They will help me to come up with the decision as to which of you will be sent home each week, and which of you scores top photo of the week.
London Lux - Model, socialite, actress, singer, designer, producer and all-round tough cookie. This young girl has done it ALL - and she's not even 21 yet! She knows what is big in the idustry and she knows who is has what it takes to succeed in the industry, and those who don't.
Dexton Lumiere - Worldwide and highly in-demand male model who has worked all over the globe for brands such as GUCCI, GUESS, Ralph Lauren and DKNY.
And myself, Hayden Williams - Newly-found model whose career is about to blow up. She has already been signed to POLLY. Model Management aswell as scoring a cover for POLLY. Magazine. She is a name to lookout for in the future and will be headjudge for the whole of the cycle.
Now lets talk about those all important prizes! The winner of 'The Face' will recieve...
✰ A contract with agency, POLLY. Model Management. (OhKumi)
✰ A cover and spread in the Spring Edition of POLLY. Magazine. (OhKumi)
✰ The cover of both POSE and Beauty in: POSE Magazine. (LillieGolighty)
✰ The cover of CHIC Magazine. (BratzSwedish)
✰ The cover of FLAIRE Magazine. (Rainbowdoll489)
✰ The cover of both ALLURE and ALLURE Beauty (MrEoin1000)
✰ And will also be photographed regularly and featured constantly in OhKumi's photostream.
Now we will begin deliberation. For you girls' very first photoshoot in the competition, you posed shirtless alongside fellow 'The Face judge, Dexton in the great outdoors. We wanted to see connection and chemistry between the two of you and make sure that Dexton does not outshine you.
Lets get started! The first girl up for deliberation is Whitney...
Whitney: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8334899401/in/photostr... - We really love this photo as a whole as we feel like this photo tells a story, its like you are clutching onto Dexton asking him not to leave you and we really love the emotion you are evoking in this shot. Out of all the girls, you definitly had one of the best connection with Dexton as you are both working together rather than you working on your own. The only thing we are not a fan of is your face, we wish you'd have given off an almost sad/sorrow sort of look to go along with your body language as currently in this photo your body and your face are not working together.
Leila: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335967236/in/photostr... - We are slightly dissapointed with this shot Leila. You definitly have bags of potential but you are simply not using your unique look to your advantage here. The posing is a little bit all over the place and you look incredibly stiff here. Instead of looking like you love Dexton, you have made yourself look like you are pushing him away from you which is not good. Your face is nice, but we think that if you'd have looked at Dexton, it would've created more of a connection between the two of you.
Alex: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8334918913/in/photostr... - Wow! Your eyes are piercing right through here Alex! You have such an alienesque face that just photographs perfectly and your eye connection with the camera here is almost spine-tingling. The way you positioned yourself is very...interesting to say the least, we are having a sort of love/hate vibe with it. We do love that you took a risk this theme as it did pull-off but Dexton did say that he found you hard to work with due to you having a tantrum before you went of set. Please learn to control this - fake it until you make it!
Maya: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8334880839/in/photostr... - Whereas the public seem to love this shot of you we, the judges, are unsure. You seem to photograph a little old, so you are going to have to find angles that are complementative towards you. Your face is a little dead here too and we feel a very big lack of chemistry between the two of you, this shot isn't bad but its very in the middle. That being said, the public seem to love you so having a fanbase behind you is always a good thing.
Veronica: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335924660/in/photostr... - Your look has got to be one of our personal favourites out of the whole group! You have this really European and Italian vibe to you which is always good to have in modelling. We think this photo is one of the strongest shots out of the bunch as you both seem to be playing off from one another and there is an immediate connection. You are working with Dexton but are making sure he doesn't outshine you. Great job!
Rosie: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335974552/in/photostr... - Rosie, what happened?! You look like a rabbit that got caught in the headlights! You look incredibly uncomfortable here and it looks like you are about to make a break for it and run away from Dexton. Dexton stated that you were incredibly nervous when on set which explains why your shot is less than impressive. You have to realise that you are a gorgeous girl with a tone of potential - you need to have confidence in yourself.
Charley: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335973096/in/photostr... - As soon as London saw this shot she stated that it was boring and we have to agree with her, this photo has no spark or connection between the two of you at all and this photo as a whole is just lackluster. Your face looks blank and its not doing much for us and the only thing we do like is the fact that you are looking into Dexton's eyes. Also, the public did state how you do not scream 'Model' to them and which is not a good thing at all.
Perrie: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335963874/in/photostr... - We like the way you are posing in this shot Perrie, and we love the way you appear to be lounging yourself onto Dexton in a loving way. As far as body language goes, you've nailed it but we think that if you turned and faced Dexton then this would've be an A+ grade shot. Your photo is one of the best this week however you did managed to make yourself look a little bit on the shortside.
Letitia: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335942814/in/photostr... - You have recieved mixed views from the general public this week. Whereas some of the public ADORE your look, others are not very big fans - your look appears to be one of the love/hate sort of things as you are so quirky and unique you may not come across as everybodys cup of tea. Personally, we think that you did a great job this week and we are loving your mysterious face here. The right arm is a little bit awkward and stiff though which kind of ruins the photo slightly but apart from that, you did a good job.
Vienna: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8334895125/in/photostr... - You have handsdown the best connection out of the bunch with Dexton within your shot! We love the fact that you are staring at him directly him in the eyes as it makes it look like you really are in love with Dexton which is exactly what we wanted for this photoshoot. Some of the public have stated that you have appeared to have almost lost the model inside of you which we do have to agree with slightly.
Rita: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335963158/in/photostr... - We were expecting a lot more from you Rita since you have one of the most editorial and modelesque looks out of the whole bunch but this photo is just extremely dissapointing. You look uncomfortable and your face is not working whatsoever, you certainly know how to pose but you are posing far too much for a shot like this. In this photo Dexton is outshining you in a highly considerate amount and you have appeared to have totally missed the mark this theme.
India: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335946094/in/photostr... - Another extremely dissapointing shot I'm afraid. You do appear to be attempting to model but you are simply not modelling with Dexton which is what we DIDN'T want. Although your face would be good for an editioral shoot, for this theme imparticular it does not work whatsoever. The whole photo just screams amateur and the general public were not fans of your this photo either.
Felix: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8335938416/in/photostr... Ooh Felix we are totally loving this! We love how it looks like you have fallen on top of Dexton in a romantic and loving way but yet you have still remembered to model. Even though you are not looking at him, you are still giving off a major amount of connection and love between the both of you which is a tricky thing to do but you have managed to pull it off. The only slight critique we'd give to you is that we would've liked to have seen a bit more of a smize from you.
Nik: www.flickr.com/photos/87945352@N07/8334884803/in/photostr... - Wow! We are really surprised by this shot Nik! You are working this shot to the max and we are loving the side-glance at the camera - its as if you are giving off a; "Who, me?" sort of vibe as if you are running away with your lover. You are a really photogenic girl and you photograph beautifully. I think that if you'd have held hands with Dexton then it would've made this shot just that bit more amazing.
The judges and I have discussed and have come to a decision as to which of you girls will be the first to leave the competition.
But first, it is time to announce who has top photo this week!
The girl that has charmed us the most this week and the girl who recieves top photo goes to...

2. Nik! Congratulations on recieving runner up this week!
Now, from best to worst...
3. Whitney
4. Veronica
5. Vienna
6. Perrie
7. Letitia
8. Alex
9. Leila
10. Maya
11. Rosie
12. Charley
Bottom Two...
Would India and Rita please step forward. Tonight, one of you will be leaving the competition for good. Two beautiful girls stand before me but both of you failed to impress this week.
India, the Aussie beauty with the whole girl-next-door look that she has going on! You are a perfect example of what a top model is but what you brought to the table this week is less than impressive. You failed to meet the criteria for the photoshoot and you looked generally uncomfortable this week. Do you have the potential and the look in order to become 'The Face'?
Rita, the exotic and European stunner who looks like she has just stepped off of the set of a 'Dior' shoot. You are exactly what the industry are looking for right now but in photographs, you tend to not photograph aswell as we had hoped and it showed in your photo this week. Both the judges and the public were not fans of your photo at all this week and we are struggling to see if you could actually become 'The Face'.
So who stays? India, the natural beauty but failed to make an impact or Rita, the exotic girl who has the goods but failed to deliver?
The girl who is still in the running towards becoming 'The Face' is...
-
-
-
13. India.
We feel that you have more to show and this week was just not in your favour. Congratulations, you are still in the running towards becoming 'The Face'
Rita we are sorry that you are the first girl to leave, it must suck but you tones of potential to make it big. However, we think that you are more suited for runway. Goodbye and goodluck!
Did you agree with the callout? Did the right girl get sent home? Leave you comments below!
I drive by this little church frequently in the valley that I live in and am reminded of my faith in Jesus by these crosses.
been meaning to do this pose for 52 weeks for quite some time. I finally got around to it. I got the idea from this pic in Calvo's stream. I just realized both of her feet are behind her arms. oops didn't do it quite right.

Hurrah Mister Ed! Ah well, sort of forgot that I needed to upload this by tonight so here it is, the week two photo at 11:30 pm.
Not exactly of the serious type, but I'll upload more tomorrow from today when I'm not so tired.
On the other hand, I can't stop thinking and talking in an awfully done British accent. I need to stop watching the U.K. Office.
This is for the Thankful theme at 52 in 2013. I am very thankful for my family and this picture is definitely a family affair. These are two shots of my sister and me (she's the cute one with the longer hair). I'm including the one of the right because it is the one we are replicating. Cathy took that shot in *cough*1984*cough*. The one on the left is my actual shot for the week. Laura and her husband came to visit for the holiday and we had a great time. Cathy helped with wardrobe and Chris helped with direction in recreating the old shot. I'm so thankful for them all and that we are all still around to do such a thing and have such fun together.
Please note that the boxes holding the albums are the very same boxes from 30 years ago!!!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
I tried a quick self-portrait with my instax, but it didn't really work. So I spent a rainy afternoon looking through the set of landscapes I've taken with it, which really work quite well.
Finally got round to sorting out my last photos from for my photo a week project last year! Had some issues with broken computer and receiving a new camera so got a bit behind.
You can check out the full set here - Project52. This was a lot less stressful than the "photo a day" project a few years ago!
Flight home from New Zealand to surprise the family!
