Location: Seven Weeks Poort in the Little Karoo
Description: Here is another (half-decent) composition from my recent visit to the spectacular Seven Weeks Poort (I just wish I'd pressed the shutter one second earlier).
The magnificent vertical rockfolds, reaching for the skies on both sides of the road, reflect the inconceivable forces of the volcanic eruptions millions of years ago, forming the chain of Cape ripple-like mountains. Often the converging slopes leave only a narrow pass, just broad enough for the Huis River to pass through, whilst the precipices of naked, distorted rock-faces tower like walls of a natural rampart, obscuring the sun.
I honestly couldn’t think of any better place to pedal my bicycle… can you?

Although Cleo looks quite serious here, she was in fact happy as she managed to catch a sunbeam and the sun is still a very rare visitor. Have a happy week !
Wish For The Week Ahead
May you stay calm and centered, especially when
we are all now faced with buffoonery at the highest
level.
May you experience true gratitude at least once a day,
no matter how tiny it is.
May your heart remain open and kind, and may you remember to stay out of the unwinnable arguments, and instead seek to just understand.
May you remember to engage in your off screen life fully and
joyfully, even if there are no photos to post...
May your laughs be real, may your love be abundant, and
may your coffee be fresh and plentiful....
Have a great upcoming week my friends.

I Walk by this tree on my evening dog walk. I've been working on different camera settings for at least a couple of years now. The tree appears a little different every night, depending on camera and lens settings, the angle of the light and time of year!
Week #163, Season
This is the time of year when the swans can be seen in our area and the fog sets in.
Siempre que pensamos en el fin de semana, a muchos nos viene la idea de irnos a algún lado a descansar... esta imagen creo que puede reflejar un poco ese sentimiento.
buen fin de semana a todos.
Things to leave in last week: Guilt, Negativity, Doubt, Excuses, Fear.
Things to bring into this week: Positive Energy, Hope, Courage, Love, Gratitude.
A new week (if you are keeping track of things like that!) .... moving forward. This might be my last week at home. We may be going back to work on Sunday. I need to conjure up a whole lot of physical energy to finish some of these projects that I have started and left unfinished. Wish me luck... I'm going to need it!!
And the the rest of you... be well, stay well!!
(Oh.... and YES! Still shooting at the same place! Loving it more than ever. I transplanted some flowers from my place to this place yesterday. The soil is incredibly good, so I think I'm going to plant flowers from seed there this year! (That ought to freak out the RC Airplane Club that uses the land back behind this place... there are a couple of them that really think someone lives here, so some of them play tricks on the ones that believe this by setting things up there, like little statues sitting by the front door... and a clothesline with clothes hanging on it!! LOL! See... it's not just me!!) Have a good week!

I stumbled upon the amazing Weeks Falls during my ramblings the last day of March and brought Darling Tonia to see it a week later. The rocks don't even look real they are so colorful and the Snoqualmie is emerald green as it's squeezed through here. I took at least twenty stabs at this over two visits and don't love any of them, but this one is acceptable I think. I hiked to it, but you can drive straight to it if you aren't as mobile as you once were, definitely worth seeing.

It's one of the January days that hold the promise of spring. My husband goes out to trim back a couple fruit trees and Baker and I tag along. But before long he is asking to go back in, where I later find him watching us, no doubt wondering why we aren't basking in the sunshine like he is. Silly humans.
I couldn't decide between my levitation shot or this "kung-fu" shot. Im sure this shot had the cattle, off camera-left, just rolling with laughter. I just always wanted to shoot one of these jump shots. This was about my 9th attempt. The first eight caught me with some pretty ridiculous face and body poses.
……Went for the Circus side of the theme in this weeks Smile on Saturday, the chair is a creation by the Daughter in Law from a few Christmases ago - made from a top off a bottle of Bubbly, balancing it was a challenge but not insurmountable! The Elephant came from Jill’s moms but needed a pair of Tusks - unlikely to be Ivory poachers, however a few minutes with a Crochet needle (also Jill’s moms) I fashioned a new pair for him! The Ball is a remnant from when our Grandson was little. And finally, the Big Top backdrop is the curtain we hang over the front door to keep the direct sun off it. Indeed it was natural sunlight here, ‘Click’ & hey presto - Smile On Saturday, well after some minor edits just in Lightroom only. Alan:-) HSoS……

I decided to post just a simple portrait of Dusty this week. Kind of to show who he is and where he is in his development. He is now 4 1/2 months old and just over 30 pounds. He looks less and less like a plush toy and more like a dog every day.
I'm looking forward to sharing his first year and his life with all of you.

Sorry we missed a couple of weeks. Thought I submitted last weeks photo, but didn't. It's in the missed week discussion. The summer's been getting away on us way too quickly!
I've struggled with this one for too long. I'm just using my iPhone this year so it was very hard to get the correct effect. But I'm going to post this anyway and move on :)
I was hoping this would turn out a lot better than it did, but I guess that leaves room to improve. I also learned a lesson, always plan ahead and prepare, etc. yeahyeah.
This photo has such a story. Doesn't look like very many books? Try carrying them up and down your house in a basket and dumping them 300 feet from your house. This really didn't turn out how I wanted, I wanted the sun to be shining. We didn't really realize how much time it would take to set up and how early the sun would set. Maybe one day I will re-do this, because I'm not very happy about it. This is inspired by a dream of a friend of mine, I'm not going to name that friend. So.
oh and if you didn't infer I'm starting a 52 weeks project, wish me luck!
