The Nursery Web Spider (Pisaurina mira) is called so because the female makes a silken nursery web for its young and guards over it; she will not leave her egg sac until all the spiderlings have hatched and dispersed.

We had some rain yesterday after a long dry spell and the spiders had to do some repair or completely rebuild their webs.

These webs were in several areas along the trail. I've seen them before but never this heavy. Seems strange that the spider would build there web on the floor of the forest. I've got a great pic for slider Sunday..;)

Located in Iron County, Wisconsin, the 10 acre Weber Lake Park sits on the shores of the tiny but popular Weber Lake that is used for summertime swimming and fishing.
Not sure if this accidentally awesome picture counts as light painting but the moon was so bright I didn't realize my taillights were on until after the picture was taken. I was pretty excited about this accidental capture of the red glow!
