2 of 2 showing aspects of the sea around the Orkney isles.
I have to acknowledge the fantastic seascapes of David Baker, a photographer based in southern England who produces the most beautiful images of the shore - always in the place where the sea meets the land. This photograph though by no means expresses what he achieves.
Taken from the vantage of high cliffs looking down onto part and fully submerged rocks where the northern Atlantic waves crash around.
Yesnaby, West Mainland, Orkney, UK
A wave breaks on the dock and catches by surprise people who enjoy their weekend afternoon.
The storm that passed earlier had left a swell, creating a stunning display of power.

I never ceased to be envigorated by waves crashing on the shore. This particular morning there was a strong wind and I stool behind the shingle shore which had been built up by the eroding waves. This part of the beach has to be constantly shored up with fresh shingle to keep the sea at bay.
Second picture of the series Wave Power.
(The following image is an example of what that might be changing a photograph as it influences the light and the technique used. For this shot had not yet left the sun, and long exposure time created that totally different to the previous photo)
Sunrise on the beautiful village of Villajoyosa -Alicante-.
That day was blowing east wind, the waves crashed against the shore, tranquility in place...
The sun is not out of the horizon yet, nothing left to see how the power of the sea struck again and again against the shore.
Spectacles of nature that gives us every day and that lack of time sometimes do not appreciate.
To achieve this photograph I used a four-step filter and black card technique.
Image dedicated to my friend on Flickr Julián Solana (Tiogran), who met him in person that morning in his wonderful land.
I hope you like it. Have a nice Monday. :)

Power in the blood is by Alabama 3 and is fin for this surging wave from last Thursday. I'm volunteering again this morning and hoping to start a fire so hope the squally showers aren't too bad.
The green waves now follow the green wall.
This is the second photo from the Rolling Hills location in Moravia, Czech Republic.
At the same time, this is my absolute favorite photo from the entire tour. If I had returned home after three days with just this photo, I would have been completely satisfied (of course I'm still happy that that's not the case).
This picture shows a slightly wider view of the hills behind the line of trees. Because of this, and because of the more intense "light and shadow play", it has a completely different dynamic than the version I showed you last week.
My wish as a photographer is to create at least one photo every month, which I really like. With this photo here, I have definitely achieved this target for April.

Converted to b&w in Adobe raw.
This one works mush better in b&w.
I also like how the wave shooting out lines up with the horizon.

The waves at Hookipa on the north shore of Maui are powerful and I hoped to show the changing character of the waves as they advance and eventually break on the inner reef.
