Waves looking like a metalic mercury look at Port Nis beach

Really didn’t get the results I was hoping for that evening - I was hoping to see sunset piercing the waves, but it didn’t. And the air was so full of water vapor from big waves breaking up that most shots just looked hazy and muddled. Ah well.

Waves bouncing off of the seawall at the south end of "Victoria Beach" in Laguna Beach, California, rebound into oncoming waves to create a beautiful and turbulent water playground.

Note on watermark: Some people have noticed the watermark changing. I have been experimenting...trying to find the most minimally intrusive version that will still prevent the image from being stolen (again). Hope this one is not too obnoxious.

I enjoy creating abstracts from natural scenes, and one of my favorite subjects is ocean sunsets. Here I used intentional camera movement to create a stylized abstract of a summer wave.

Was very windy today but the sun came out for awhile, the waves at high tide were awesome. This is Cape Disappoinment lighthouse and statepark in Ilwaco, Wa on the coast.

Hard to believe the level of destruction caused by the waves only weeks ago. Sad remains of the end of the pier a bit like a Japanese Tori gate in the sea.

Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of the ocean, so must I never live my life for itself, but always in the experience which is going on around me. -Albert Schweitzer

Central Vancouver Island is in a heat wave, with temperatures well above seasonal averages.

It takes a brave person to walk down the promenade on this day

Fall has begin but where I am, we're still pushing out those 100+ degree temperatures. Going to be that way for at least another month and a half. Stay cool my friends. Iced coffee is my go to in this weather.

Sometimes, all I think about is you

Late nights in the middle of June

Heat waves been fakin' me out

Can't make you happier now

Sometimes, all I think about is you

Late nights in the middle of June

Heat waves been fakin' me out

Can't make you happier now

Usually I put somethin' on TV

So we never think about you and me

But today I see our reflections

Clearly in Hollywood, layin' on the screen

You just need a better life than this

You need somethin' I can never give

Fake water all across the road

It's gone now, the night has come, but

Sometimes, all I think about is you

Relentless waves, in ceaseless march they come,

Each crest a tale of time, each crash a hum.

Against the shore they hurl their might,

With endless rhythm, day and night.

They dance in harmony, a symphony of sound,

Echoing through the sands, the sea's profound.

Their fury whispers secrets old,

Stories of sailors, mysteries untold.

With every surge, they sculpt the land,

Shaping cliffs and shores with gentle hand.

But underneath their tranquil guise,

Lies a power that could mesmerize.

They carry tales from distant lands,

And treasures lost beneath the sands.

In their embrace, the weary find reprieve,

As they ebb and flow, a timeless weave.

Relentless waves, in eternal chase,

A reminder of nature's boundless grace.

They teach us lessons of strength and strife,

And the beauty found in the rhythm of life.

Québec, Québec - novembre 2019.

Much of the northern Spanish coast is renowned for crashing waves. Whilst the peak is during autumn and winter storms, the wind and swell combination can produce spectacular results all year round.

This particular crash is at a well-known location on the coast at Llames de Pria, in the Asturias region. The waves are so powerful, they even carry shards of rock higher than the cliff tops, which are mostly over 30 metres high!
