Expired 35mm film, first put through the washing machine, then dried ( in a dark room) with hairdryer before shooting.The results are a bit more subtle than the roll I put through the dishwasher.

What have we become? In what have we lost ourselves? Humanity has been wronged. Our greatest strengths and weaknesses have been used against us.

You may ask – perhaps we did this to ourselves? Yes and no. Someone had to start it, after all. But… that is no longer important. What matters much more is how to change it, and what tools to use to end this senseless collecting and fixation on things rather than on our own consciousness, on other people, or on nature.

The installation was created by Lithuanian artist Martynas Gaubas. For a time, it could be seen in Vytauto Jurgio Meškos Park in Birštonas in 2022. By the way, I recommend exploring his work – it opens your eyes ;)
