Money is the key?
Monk - Key - Money.
Money - Key - Monk.
What have we become? In what have we lost ourselves? Humanity has been wronged. Our greatest strengths and weaknesses have been used against us.
You may ask – perhaps we did this to ourselves? Yes and no. Someone had to start it, after all. But… that is no longer important. What matters much more is how to change it, and what tools to use to end this senseless collecting and fixation on things rather than on our own consciousness, on other people, or on nature.
The installation was created by Lithuanian artist Martynas Gaubas. For a time, it could be seen in Vytauto Jurgio Meškos Park in Birštonas in 2022. By the way, I recommend exploring his work – it opens your eyes ;)

Another unusual pov today. this time from inside my washing machine. I threw in some socks for good measure!
This picture was taken at the Washington State University organic farm. Don't you wish you had one of these?

The benchmark of growing up isn't getting a job, losing your virginity or having a bar mitzvah. I think its actually about accumulating objects.
So, you buy furniture. You tell yourself, this is the last sofa I will ever need in my life. Buy the sofa, then for a couple years you're satisfied that no matter what goes wrong, at least you've got your sofa issue handled. Then the right set of dishes. Then the perfect bed. The drapes. The rug. Then you're trapped in your lovely nest, and the things you used to own, now they own you.
People like to see you 'stable', you know, because then they feel better about their own shitty lives.
objects = financial commitment = bills = work = stability
Congratulations. We have been officially inducted into the Hall of Lame.
After spending ages playing with ink, and still not being convinced, the washing finished.
Saw the 'bubble' effect inside the machine and liked it so had a play. Amazing colour and no idea where the blue came from but I love the effect.

Facebook asked me to change my page to the new Timeline design. This seemed like a good idea to me as it meant I could put a nice big picture up at the top of the page.
I thought about what I could make this a picture of that would sum me up quite nicely, and quickly arrived at this - drawings of washing machines on post-it notes! What could make me happier?!

We missed our allotted washday last week and our clothes have piled up! Our washer at home shakes across the whole floor so I find myself having to sit on it at the end of every wash. I'm so not looking foward to washing my mound of laundry today.
Jake put his jeans in the washing machine, put in his money and turned on. Only then did the realisation dawn that he had forgotten to put on any underwear.
Our landlord got us a new washing machine when this one ceased to perform adequately. It was moved into our backyard, temorarily, we were told. That was probably two months ago.
This corner has a conglomeration of very old stuff....even older than me!!! I just love old household stuff.....behind the dress dummy is an old ironing board. Old well buckets are a catchall for fabric. Note the cute little feather hat on the stand at the right.....that was quite a find....it is adorable. Unfortunately it is for a much smaller head than mine!
After 16 years valuable service (What were you doing in 1992 ?) I rewarded my washing machine by pulling its guts out, and lobbing it on the tip.
I was thinking of selling it on eBay, but lugging it down the Post Office wouldn't have been fun.
It started life being made in Italy, and ended its existence 1185 miles later in Colchester. Where to next? Its job of washing pants may be over, but its journey continues. Maybe it'll find its way into being a can of Tesco Value Spaghetti Hoops.
RIP Indesit WG850.
