The switch is held in place by two clips and there is a grounding screw. I found it easiest to remove the cover almost completely. Then I had my two "assistants" hold it in place while I bent around and undid the cabling from the two clips and unscrewed the ground screw.

Spent a large portion of my morning trying to work out the logistics of getting my Mum from Somerset to my cousin's funeral in Essex next week. My poor nephew had another seizure last night, so my sister has decided it's best if she stays home for him - so my brother and I were trying to work out the best way of getting our Mum there and back. After talking to my brother, I started researching hotels with ceiling hoists, with a view to breaking the journey up overnight - but then my Mum made the (actually very sensible) decision that she wouldn't go after all. It's a shame, but I think it's for the best - it was going to be such a long day and long journey for her.
In other news, a mysterious collection of peas appeared in the washing machine door seal when Tim was washing all our pyjamas. He thinks I've been snacking on them in my sleep. I think it's more likely I dropped a load of frozen peas into the washing machine while cooking dinner last night....

Don't use too much washing powder with the shoe-washing-programme. It might happen that the foam comes out of the washing machine again and your bathroom is under water. Damn.

I was in my kitchen, do some washing, pull out the clean clothes from the washing machine and I was about to put in the dirty clothes when I thought I would take a photo. Random I know but interesting texture, lighting and reflections, so I thought I would just go for it and see what happened.
All of a sudden our seven-months-old clothes dryer stopped working. The buttons would beep when pressed, and the lights on the panel came on, but the thing would not begin a drying cycle. During a service call that cost about $168, we learned that this door-activated switch had died, probably from the door's being slammed closed too often.
My wife and I have enrolled in a class called "Understanding the Sensitivity of One's Appliances." Passing the class should be a slam-dunk.
I really need to clean out the washing machine's powder drawer. It's all gone yucky and clogged...

...had to look in the washing machine. He especially liked the fabric softener cup...but no worries, it isn't running!
I like washing machines, and this place looked like it was full of them!
This image was wiped out in the Great SCED Washout of 2011. My apologies if your favourite or comment went with it - I did all I could before I had to restore it manually. Thanks for understanding!
