After cleaning up the bleach dispenser I decided to color the lettering and trim back in. I'm not sure if they were ever colored in but the black letters and silver trim look very handsome I thought.
On the way to Bath, I called in at Moore, Allen & Innocent in Lechlade to collect my camera bag which I'd left at the house we (still) hope to buy. I took some washing to do at Olive's, as we haven't been able to do any recently because of all our viewings! After lunch at The Hub, I had a meeting with the social worker and a rep from Bluebird Care, to discuss how Olive is getting on: the support she's getting is certainly helping her to cope with living in her own home, and she seems happy most of the time.
When Olive got back from Peggy Dodd's, her carer arrived to get the tea, and the chiropodist came to do Olive's feet, so I booked his next visit and then drove back to Oxford.
This thing sat in my backyard for seven years until I finally admitted I wasn't going to do anything with it, artistic or otherwise. When a scrapper came by asking if he could take some metal conduit I was recycling I offered the washing machine to him on the condition he removed the letters from the front for me.

the second spread for the catalogue. in the catalogue proper the items would be placed in chronological order so in reality the items here wouldn't be next to each other but i feel this gives a representation of style.

The Midnight Jam Session is one of the most appreciated events by both the audience and the musicians. The task of animating the festival’s crowded jams into the small hours of the morning will again rest in the hands of an irresistible French-Australian quartet, comprising violinist and singer George Washingmachine, guitarist David Blenkhorn, double bass player Sebastien Girardot, and drummer Guillaume Nouaux.
The members of the group, who will regularly be performing with other bands, will be joined by many of the festival’s protagonists giving the audience a unique opportunity to enjoy thrilling musical collaborations. Throughout the festival the interpreters and instruments will vary, but the fun will most surely remain constant.
Frodo is a lovable cat, he wants a pat and a cuddle. So he jumps on the washing machine and meows for me to come. When I get there, he lays on the washing machine and shows his belly for me to pat
I occasionally sit on washing machines and take pictures of myself, thank you very much.
This actually took me a very long time. I had to stack a whole bunch of objects on top of each other until I made a camera stand.
Our washing machine started leaking and so we raised it up on cinder blocks in order to be able to put a tub underneath it to catch the water. It turns out the tub was leaking and there was no cheap easy fix. We had to buy a whole new washing machine.

January 2, day 2 - Unfortunately this was one of those mornings where I had to play catch up with all the domestic things that I've managed to ignore for the past few days. Grocery shopping, laundry and getting reacquainted with my vacuum cleaner. This is the photo that I chose to represent today. Yes, I did climb up on the dryer to get a better angle; and, yes, it did make doing the laundry more entertaining!
For Macro Mondays weekly theme: Sideways. Definitely an unusual perspective (unless you are a smelly old sock).

I guess the main thing was recording that washing machine and dryer.. the recordings didn't turn into anything too terribly interesting... note that you can see me in the reflection of the door.. I like the kinda.. halo-ish light mixed the the decay... I think

I saw a programme yesterday on Philippe Starck, a new series where 12 hopefuls have gone to Paris with the aim of working for Mr Starck. Each and every object we use, no matter how big or small, significant or insignificant is 'Designed for use'.
