This has to be some sort of record, at a height of about 6,300 ft above sea level, a washing machine dumped in Snowdonia National Park on the B4391 at Llangynog, Wales.

I am still trying to stretch these guys into a few more stories. My mind needs this project to focus on and escape the heavy realities of life. There have been three deaths in the last month of relatives of my family/friends. Rising cases of Covid-19 and the heaviness of it all can weigh on my mind so to give it a break, I play. It is a healthier alternative for me than overeating, drugs, alcohol, binge-watching shows, or shopping. How do you mentally escape?

Considering the beautiful weather, we have right now, it's not very fun to go out and shoot. So I went in my garage in order to test our brand new Nikon SB900 flash units. When I've seen the washing machine, I had the envy to take a funny shot with it.
Material & Processing :
Nikon D3 with the Nikkor AF 16mm f/2.8 fisheye lense @ 16mm f/11 1/60 ISO 200
1 Nikon SB900 on the D3 with the wide angle cap (master mode)
1 Nikon SB900 on the floor in front of the washing machine with an orange filter on (slave mode) half power
1 RAW 14bits converted in TIFF 16bits with Adobe CameraRAW then processed in Photoshop with Topaz Adjust.

Do you really know what goes on in your washing machine, or is it an article of faith? Do you really know what climbs out of the holes, slots and covers when you close the lid?

A typical scene from The Crowsnest Museum, in Coleman Alberta. It was too bad we had to rush through it so quickly, as it's full of amazing curiosities, and details the incredibly rich history of the Crowsnest Region.
