Expired 35mm film, first put through the washing machine, then dried ( in a dark room) with hairdryer before shooting. The results are a bit more subtle than the roll I put through the dishwasher.

Stormie reports back on our washing machine.
Family note:
We believe we have at last found our elusive water leak in our kitchen. The connection between the washing machine hose and the water main had an intermittent leak. Turning off the mains tap for the machine each time after use meant the connection was always dry by the time the leak was obvious and the leak was investigated.
Hopefully, success after two weeks of checking!

Old Wringer Washing Machine described as "Woman's Friend". Picture was taken at Adams Mill in Indiana.
Small folding leaflet featuring Dodge & Zuill's Easy washing machine . "Manufacturers - Marshall & Philp , 179 Union St., Aberdeen." Dodge & Zuill were an American firm and it is possible Marshall & Philp did manufacture these machines in Scotland under licence, but it seems slightly more likely their role was that of manufacturer's agent/distributor/importer. Perhaps they assembled the machines from imported components(?) . no date [c. 1910]
image of the day and was helpless - these two were both screaming with HJ saying "it's not fair" and "i was here first" as they fought over who could look into the washing machine ... :oD

I do not have issues with The Washer. My drier, well that's another story. When the drier is finished his business I am compelled to fold the laundry, something which seems more suited to some mechanical device or a team of trained monkeys. The drier's annoying buzz irks me. Plus, it's thumpy. The drier. Don't get me started.
But The Washer, The Washer is a thing of beauty. The clothes go in dirty and smelling less than fresh and they come out clean and delicately perfumed. I have mentioned this to The Washer innumerable times, but The Washer refuses to listen any more. Today he decided to take our difference of opinion to another level.
Sadly I am not yet finished with the laundry.
[I do not speak spanish fluently, but isn't "secadora" a lovely word? Forthwith I shall call my drier the secadora. Well, I would if I knew how to pronounce it correctly.]
[Oooh, I like "lavanderia" too.]
