I saw this gentleman several times this summer. He walks and walks and walks, sometimes with his dog and sometimes without. I believe this was on US Ave or Wheatfield Rd.

I'm sure he didn't have time to look at inapropriate material on his government computer.....

The entire route lies within an urban area but much of it is forested trails. No bears nor cougars to worry about here. The 8km walk took me 2:30hrs.

Elijah takes a short walk on a trail next to nearby Ness Lake. And, this is some of the greatest light that I've seen in a long time.

Sunset in Bar Harbor. At low tide, one can walk across this sandbar to Bar Island. The sandbar is only available for about 2 hours at low tide. Visitors have been known to be stranded on the island until the next low tide.

We spent our first 4th of July celebration with couchsurfers. In the morning: driving around Custer State Park, Needles Highway and walked around Sylvan Lake. Absolutely beautiful! And another filming location: National Treasure 2 was shot here.

With Jools at a bead class in Folkestone, I was left with a few hours on me tod to decide what to do with.

There was a green hop festival on at The Berry in Walmer, so a plan formed in my head. Instead of walking from here, I got Jools to drop me off at The Monument, so I could I walk along the cliffs to Kingsdown and on to Deal. Perfect.

As soon as Jools dropped me off, the sun shone through as I neared the Monumant, so best take a shot to record the moment.

Once I got to the cliff edge., I could see looking down it was near to high tide as the waves lapped at the foot of the cliffs.

Not much wildlife about this late in the season; a few gulls but no raptors and certainly no butterflies.

The wind was keen and in my face, but I kept a good pace. Away to my left, the pringle-wearing hoards played golf; seemed to be popular, the car park was full.

Until I came to the Kingsdown, where the cliff run out, down the steps and onto the beach.

Further along, yet more repairs to the beaches are being carried out, more huge wooden piles being driven in to save what little there is here.

A group of bravehearts was out swimming in the sea, a hardy bunch called the Kingsdown Crawlers, apparently.I spoke to a splendid old lady, the mother of one of the swimmers, who told me all about them.

But, the pub was calling and I must press on!

I want to say don’t leave me here

With all your blessings withdrawn

And a wall of silence my crown of thorns

While you walk away

With arms outstretched to emptiness

There is only me to thank.

Being right was not the only answer

To my indignity

And so you go.

Holderlin vislumbro nuestro destino.

These pictures were taken at "Walk the Walk” at Pipeline Cafe. It was a hurley sponsored event where teens from various schools would be given hulrey clothes and then compete in a fashion show for $5000 to go to the school's art program. My school (Mid Pac) did an amazing job with creative poses at the end of the cat walk. Here she did an ariel, splits, and then went into a hand stand from there. As you can see the crowd is pretty impressed.
