This is a straightforward photograph of a piece of seaweed on a sandy beach. The marks left in the sand were created as the outgoing tide washed around it.

It was my entry for "Objects and structures" in World Photography Day Contest 2022.

Salt granaries (Salzspeicher), view from the Holsten Bridge (Holstenbrücke), Lübeck, June 23, 2016

Salt was Lübeck's main export commodity to Scandinavia, where it was used for preservation of fish. Salt was stored in the group of granaries built from 1579 to 1745. It was brought to Lübeck from Lüneburg by road and later by water.

The Church of the Transfiguration (Russian: Церковь Преображения Господня). Its altar was laid June 6, 1714, as inscribed on the cross located inside the church. This church was built on the site of the old one which was burnt by lightning. The builders' names are unknown. A legend tells that the main builder used one axe for the whole construction, which he threw into the lake upon completion with the words "there was not and will be not another one to match it".

Thank you for visiting and faves! Have a great day! 😊

“Holz Brücke”, which stands for “Wooden Bridge”, lights up at night in Michigan’s Little Bavaria (Frankenmuth, Michigan). This bridge was constructed by two brothers, Eddie Zehnder & William “Tiny” Zehnder Jr. The bridge spans 239 Feet across the Cass River and offers visitors an easy way to access the main downtown area and the Bavarian Inn Lodge. The Frankenmuth Covered Bridge is the largest covered bridge in the state, and is one of the main highlights of Frankenmuth.

A dent caused tension in the material resulting in the various cracking patterns.

It's worth enlarging the image to the max to see the extra detail!

Carrie Blast Furnaces in the distance.

Carrie Furnace is a former blast furnace located along the Monongahela River in the Pittsburgh area industrial town of Swissvale, Pennsylvania, and it had formed a part of the Homestead Steel Works. The Carrie Furnaces were built in 1884 and they operated until 1982. During its peak, the site produced 1,000 to 1,250 tons of iron per day. All that is left of the site are furnaces #6 and #7, which operated from 1907 to 1978, and its hot metal bridge. The furnaces, designated a National Historic Landmark in 2006, are among the only pre-World War II 20th century blast furnaces to survive. The site is currently managed by the nonprofit Rivers of Steel Heritage Corporation, which conducts tours and other programs from May through October.

No software wizardry, the main subject is a photo SooC. I did tidy up the surrounding black and cut a 4:3 crop. But what is it…?
