CUEVA 2022 @ AES (MetzeSchmelz) - Marc Soisson
The Cueva collective has as line of conduct, to artistically occupy places, intended to demolition or rehabilitation.
The invited artists have total freedom in their expression.
This year, 32 artists have invested the main alley of "Metzeschmelz" and will revive this former steel plant, closed since the end of 2012.

This is a very rare shell found only in Masirah Island where I work. I want to share this with you guys. Our good friend Colin Kirtley found this recently, lent me to capture for Flickr.

DISTRIBUTION
Founder Dr D. Bosch and his wife Eloise after whom the species is named. Shell 32mm in length. Masirah Island, Oman, Arabian Sea
Acteon eloiseae is known only from Masirah Island. The largest shell known is 38mm long. Nothing is known of its anatomy so a generic placement is not possible but as Abbott suggests it closely resembles species of the genus Maxacteon and in particular Maxacteon flammea. It is often misspelt A. eloisae.
Unfortunately in 1993, the breeding area of the shells had been witnessed being "hoovered" and a very large quantity of the "eloise" had been removed live. Additionally the indigenous population had cottoned on to the fact that people desired this shell, and they started indiscriminately removing live shells also to try and sell.

Il Palazzo Estense di Varese fu una residenza di Francesco III d'Este, Duca di Modena e Reggio, amministratore, capitano generale e poi governatore della Lombardia austriaca. Il 20 settembre 1755 il duca venne per la prima volta a Varese con il suo seguito, ospite del marchese Menafoglio; durante questo soggiorno maturò forse la decisione di scegliere Varese per costruire il suo palazzo estivo.
Successivamente, il 23 giugno 1765, riuscì ad ottenere Varese come feudo non trasmissibile dall'imperatrice Maria Teresa d'Austria. Nel parco, modellato a somiglianza di quello del palazzo imperiale di Schönbrunn, si fondono i caratteri del giardino romantico con quello alla francese, ricco di parterres. Protagonista centrale è un ninfeo, posto su un'altura, costituito da tre nicchie rivestite da concrezioni in tufo e statue. Per soddisfare la passione del Duca per la caccia, si adattò una parte del parco a roccolo con querce, olmi e castagni. Le numerose conifere, il magnifico cedro del Libano, alcune magnolie, camelie e tuje furono poste nell'Ottocento su intervento del Robbioni ed eredi.
Sul confine con la proprietà, in continuità con i giardini di palazzo estense, si erge Villa Mirabello, edificata nel corso del XVIII secolo dal Conte Gaetano Stampa di Soncino, nel luogo dov'era stato eretto dal duca il teatrino all'aperto.

A close up of the Space Shuttle prototype OV-101 'Enterprise' on the back of NASA Boeing 747 N905NA, parked on show at the Paris Airshow at Le Bourget.
N905NA c/n 20107 - Boeing 747-123 - delivered new to American Airlines in 1970 as N9668, the aircraft was converted in 1974 as a Space Shuttle carrier. The aircraft made it's only visit to the Paris Air Show in 1983, carrying the Space Shuttle 'Enterprise'. N905NA made its last flight with Space Shuttle 'Discovery' on 17th April 2012 from Kennedy Space Center - Washington Dulles, and was then stored at Ellington Field.
Space Shuttle 'Enterprise' (NASA Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-101) - was the first Space Shuttle. It was built for NASA as part of the Space Shuttle program to perform test flights in the atmosphere, aided by modified Boeing 747 N905NA. It was constructed without engines or a functional heat shield, and was therefore not capable of spaceflight.
During 1983 and 1984 'Enterprise' undertook an international tour visiting France, Germany, Italy, Canada and the UK.

Loaded ORA grain service 2184S from Wolseley to Pelican Point with GWU008/CLP17/FQ02/GWA003 wraps around the curve at Callington preparing for it's climb through the Adelaide Hills on Wednesday the 25th of March 2020.
At the time, ORA were running to Wolseley non stop to export large quantities of grain out of Viterra's Port Adelaide and Pelican Point facilities.

I have been going to Albi for more than 20 years, as if attracted by this cathedral, in the need to come and see it and raise my eyes to the sky.

Reflections ... at the time the picture was taken, the glass tower of Deutsche Bahn on Potsdamer Platz was completely empty. It is currently being renovated...

Dried bamboo leaf sealed within this traditional porcelain jar is one of the most commonly used for traditional tea. It makes really sweet and delicate tea flavor.
San Geremia is a church in Venice, northern Italy, located in the sestiere of Cannaregio. The apse of the church faces the Grand Canal (Venice), between the Palazzo Labia and the Palazzo Flangini. The edifice is popular as the seat of the cult of Saint Lucy of Syracuse, whose remains are housed inside.
The first church was erected here in the 11th century, and was later rebuilt on several occasions. In 1206 it is mentioned to house the remains of St. Magnus of Oderzo (died 670), who had taken refuge in this area from the Lombards.
The church of San Geremia in Venice hit by the Austrian bombardment of 1849.
A first rebuilding was held under doge Sebastiano Ziani, the new church being consecrated in 1292. The current edifice dates from 1753, designed by Carlo Corbellini; the façade is from 1861. The brickwork bell tower (probably dating from the 12th century) has two thin Romanesque mullioned windows at the base.
The church was damaged by Austrian shelling during their successful siege of the city in 1849 during the First Italian War of Independence.

On ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum in Denmark, we are treated with a spectacularly colored vision. Created by Danish-Icelandic artist, Olafur Eliasson, a rainbow colored ring sits on top of the museum's roof, revealing a beautifully colored panorama of the city.
I like marbles. I like macro photography. And thus . . .
UPDATE: This was Photo of the Day (PotD) on Bostonist.com (r.i.p, which was a Boston-focused blog in the Gothamist universe before it folded in 2011). And it was featured on the Flickr blog in 2014 for the Flickr 10th Anniversary post (quite an honor !)
Long exposure of Portland Bill Lighthouse at the tip of the Isle of Portland on the Dorset coast. I wanted to capture the 4 separate beams that rotate every 20 seconds which helps to identify the lighthouse to mariners. So I had to trade that off against a longer exposure which would have given more detail in the night sky....

I have not formally studied Architecture and have not successfully identified this type with internet searches. Will someone share their knowledge about this style?
I thought it was beautiful and had to walk in the middle of the intersection for a few minutes to get the angle I wanted. I did my best to not impede the traffic flow in downtown Kansas City too much. Luckily it was a quiet weekday afternoon and I was successful in getting the shot I wanted.
