On a visit to Waipu cave to shoot the gloworms we decided to have a quick play with some lightpainting for a bit of fun. Next time I might try something more elaborate but this was a fun strat.
Do you recall the minibots?
They had been working on finding wormholes, time warps, and constructed a time machine.
I think another place opened up...
and...
Meet Simon and Master Jack as they emergence from one world into another...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The figures are actually from Warhammer 40k. Their actual names are Simeon and Spud. Apparently they are scavengers in The Wasteland.
Since I am not a gamer, I don't usually bother to look at the figure's stories.
I just liked these figures and when I first saw them, I figured the little dog was
the one
in charge.
He just seemed like a Master Jack.
The big guy will just be His sidekick as they continue on their adventures.
Some interruption from my Argentina+Chile photo stream to show something more recent.
U-Bahnhof Marienplatz, München.
Marienplatz subway station, Munich. To me this looks like a wormhole, a speculative shortcut connecting disparate points in spacetime.
You need a permission to use a tripod on these premises. It is free of charge but you need to sign that you won't disturb anyone. And you cannot use it during rush hour. Fair enough. Thanks to the MVG who gave me permission on short notice.
And a sad side note: during the short time to do this picture three people were inspecting the trash bin on the right-hand side for bottles with refundable deposit.
The other produce one can generate with a folder full of edited time laps frames is a startrail. unlike the previous video I posted, which runs the frames as a movie sequence, this time the illuminated section of each frame is added to its successor until all the light captured during the long session is recorded on the last frame (as if the shutter was left open for the entire time). The is done on StarStax, a free software doing the function photoshop does but much faster and in a user friendly way. since StarStax can save each frame during the process, a movie can be made. This view is straight north, and the earth rotation creates the star "movement" around the north star which does not "move". Enjoy (I hope)...
An accidental abstract which occurred when I forgot to turn on the flash while taking lily mnacro shots. I liked the result. So this time, I did it on purpose and this was the outcome. It reminded me of traveling through a wormhole through the fabric of the time space.
the amazing architecture of the shopping-center "My Zeil"
in FRANKFURT - Germany
a gigantic shopping center opened in 2009 - 70000 visitors per day
and the largest escalator in Europe -
( to see absolutely on black )
le " trou de ver " dans la façade -
An experiment using intentional camera movement while at the Light Towers section of the Sensorio light-based artwork. This section consisted of more than 17,000 wine bottles grouped into towers and illuminated with glowing optical fibers whose colors changed over time. Because tripods aren't allowed on the grounds, once it became fully dark I ended up trying some techniques such as this that didn't require camera stability to get interesting shots.
Photo taken in Paso Robles, CA (USA).
Worm infested timber is very decorative when cut. These slabs form part of the very stylish boardwalk at Port Melbourne beach.
This is 164 shots each about 20 seconds long with an interval of 5 seconds between. each shot
I placed a warm light on the ground shining onto the ruins,
There were 2 aircraft that flew right through the scene. These were easy to mask out.
These is some distortion with this 20mm lens being angled up into the sky.
These is a satellite upper left.
I used the electronic shutter in silent mode.
