As the teams emerge for the nPower Championship playoff semi final second leg against Cardiff City the West Ham fans inside the Boleyn Ground give a rendition of the club anthem "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles". As usual the first half is accompanied by the recorded 1975 FA Cup final squad version which is then cut off and finished by the fans alone. A couple of times recently, due to band members attending the match, the 1980 Cockney Rejects version has been played, not when the team runs out though.
West Ham took a 2-0 lead into this match from the first game in Cardiff and goals from Kevin Nolan, Ricardo Vaz Te and Nicky Maynard completed a 3-0 win on the day for a 5-0 aggregate demolition sealing the club's first trip to Wembley since 1981.
I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
They fly so high
Nearly reach the sky
Then like my dreams they fade and die
Fortunes always hiding
I've looked everywhere
I'm forever blowing bubbles
Pretty bubbles in the air
United! United! United!
Video shot with Canon PowerShot G10.
I had forgotten about this one as it was taken with the kids' PowerShot A460 camera. I have backdated the Flickr upload date so that it sits chronologically with my other images.
This is a panorama of three landscape photos. It was taken during the West Ham v Man Utd match in December 2007. Our seats for this game were in the East Stand (Chicken Run) at Upton Park, so here we see the away fans to our right, the West Stand opposite (where our season tickets are now) and the Bobby Moore stand away to the left.
The scoreboard shows that after 23 minutes the visitors were leading 1-0, Cristiano Ronaldo had scored the goal at the far end in the 14th minute. He went on to miss a penalty at the near end in the second half before late goals from Anton Ferdinand and Matthew Upson after 77 and 82 minutes respectively sent the majority of the 34,966 crowd home happy.

A train of new S7 stock heading eastbound at Upton Park on the District Line, 26/Nov/2013.
Years ago I used to commute on the Central Line but in recent years I have only used the District Line and so only seen D Stock trundling past all the time. The new S Stock started working on this part of the District Line for the first time in early September 2013 and on a journey I made on 23 September I saw and rode on a new S Stock train for the first time. The resulting photo was a hastily grabbed, dark blurred shot but here is a better effort!

This was the view from our seats at Wembley Stadium for the double header of Senegal v Uruguay followed by Team GB v UAE at the London 2012 Olympics. The seats were just a few rows from the back of the top tier (Block 543, row 17 seats 89-92). They were good value though - two matches for £70 in total for 4 people. The game in progress is the Senegal v Uruguay fixture which finished 2-0 to Senegal.
This was a panorama made up of 7 portrait shots stitched together in PT Gui. I had previously shot a pano of Wembley at the playoff final in May which can be seen here, although that was from almost pitchside.

After a great weekend when West Ham were promoted to the Premier League by beating Blackpool 2-1 at Wembley (photos to come soon), here is another shot from the nPower Championship playoff semi final second leg against Cardiff City.
Here is the Boleyn Ground, better known to many as Upton Park taken from my seat AA167. This was taken during the second half, with West Ham having built a 2-0 lead in the first half.
This one is a panorama of 3 shots in landscape orientation, stitched together using PTGui. I zoomed in a bit from the previous image to make the pitch more of a centre of attention.
At the far left we see the Trevor Brooking stand and at the far right the Bobby Moore stand. The smaller stand opposite is the East stand, known as the 'Chicken Run' due to the construction of it's old predecessor.

A train of new S7 stock waiting to depart westbound at Upton Park with a Hammersmith & City Line service, 26/Nov/2013.
Each vestibule has bright low-level LED lighting to light up the floor and platform area, having not seen this on older stock it makes for an interesting sight with all the doors open.

Sir Geoff Hurst pictured here with Dave's oldest grandson Connor at the Chelmsford City FC Charter Standard Presentation on Saturday 22nd January 2011 where Geoff was guest of honour.
Sir Geoffrey Charles Hurst, MBE was born December 8th 1941 in Ashton-under-Lyne Lancashire and is a former footballer of West Ham and England. He is the only player to have scored a hat-trick in a World Cup final for England in their 4-2 win over West Germany at Wembley in July 1966.
Geoff was born in Ashton-under-Lyne Lancashire and moved with his family to Chelmsford when he was 8 years old. He is a former pupil of Kings Road Primary School and Rainsford High School.
So this is quite an honour for Geoff to meet young Connor!
Thanks to Dave for taking this photograph and is posted here with kind permission.
Here is another panorama of the view I had for the nPower Championship Playoff Final at Wembley Stadium between West Ham and Blackpool.
Our seats were on the south side of the lower tier, only one block from the Blackpool fans and opposite the tunnel and royal box. Block 123 Row 13 Seats 27 & 28. This was made up of 11 shots in portrait orientation, stitched together with PTGui.
Taken a few minutes before the teams emerged for kick off the West Ham section was sold out and jam packed. Sadly, Blackpool were allocated more tickets than they had fans, hence the huge empty sections on the right hand side. Approximately 10,000 West Ham fans missed out due to this administrative cock up.

This is my final in stadium shot from the nPower Championship playoff semi final second leg between West Ham and Cardiff City.
This is the Bobby Moore stand at the south end of the Boleyn Ground, better known to many as Upton Park. Celebrations were in full swing as the final whistle was fast approaching and West Ham had just taken a 3-0 lead on the day.
The Bobby Moore Stand was built in 1993 and can hold 9,000 spectators all seated (although I don't think anyone in the lower tier ever actually gets to sit down during a game). The stand was built originally to comply with new stadium all-seater regulations, and the name of the stand was decided after the death of the club's legendary captain in the same year of construction. The lower tier of the Bobby Moore stand, like the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand at the opposite end, is well known for its supporters' passion and the atmosphere they create through standing and singing.
The stand also had a small amount of renovation in 2001 after the construction of the new West Stand (from where this shot is taken), with a new second LCD screen in the stadium being introduced between the two stands and new seats added on the end of the stand to join with the new West Stand.
