This is my final in stadium shot from the nPower Championship playoff semi final second leg between West Ham and Cardiff City.
This is the Bobby Moore stand at the south end of the Boleyn Ground, better known to many as Upton Park. Celebrations were in full swing as the final whistle was fast approaching and West Ham had just taken a 3-0 lead on the day.
The Bobby Moore Stand was built in 1993 and can hold 9,000 spectators all seated (although I don't think anyone in the lower tier ever actually gets to sit down during a game). The stand was built originally to comply with new stadium all-seater regulations, and the name of the stand was decided after the death of the club's legendary captain in the same year of construction. The lower tier of the Bobby Moore stand, like the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand at the opposite end, is well known for its supporters' passion and the atmosphere they create through standing and singing.
The stand also had a small amount of renovation in 2001 after the construction of the new West Stand (from where this shot is taken), with a new second LCD screen in the stadium being introduced between the two stands and new seats added on the end of the stand to join with the new West Stand.

This is one of the two ramps leading up from Olympic Way (Wembley Way to the masses) to the new Wembley Stadium. Here the crowds of West Ham fans stream in to the nPower Championship playoff final against Blackpool.

Today's post is nothing more than a snap with my mobile phone (just to see how it would come out). It is England international goalkeeper Robert Green taking a goal kick for West Ham United during the second half of their 4-0 Football League Championship victory at Watford.
Goals from James Tomkins and Joey O'Brien gave the visitors a 2-0 lead which was doubled in the second half with goals from Carlton Cole and Scott Parker (his last goal before leaving the club for Spuds).

As the stadium filled (well our end did at least) for the nPower Championship Playoff Final at Wembley between West Ham and Blackpool they brought out these giant club crests that were flown with a huge balloon.
There was one for each team and they walked them around the respectibe ends so that all supporters could get a good view of them, before holding them by the tunnel for the players to emerge.

Yesterday afternoon West Ham made it to Wembley for the first time since the 1981 League Cup Final. To celebrate here is a shot of the Boleyn Ground, better known to many as Upton Park.
This was taken before the last home match, at home against Hull City. I arrived fairly early and made my way up to the uppermost seat at the far North end of the West (Alpari) stand. To our left we see the lower tier of the Trevor Brooking stand and at the far right the Bobby Moore stand. The smaller stand opposite is the East stand, known as the 'Chicken Run' due to the construction of it's old predecessor.
