....Take the love out and it means nothing. There's an aspect of photography that has nothing to do with whether a photo is shot with digital or conventional techniques, and the photographer must consider it :-)

While searching for items from Madpea's Valentine's Hunt, I found this awesome spot to stop and take some fun pics!!! This hunt has taken me to over 100 new sims I have never been to before. I have been able to discover so many new places that I will DEFINITELY be visiting again!!! So super excited to continue visiting places while I finish this quest!

Happy Weekend All

RKO_8080. Fascinating interaction between an adult (male) kingfisher and some juveniles. Both demanding for more fish and even eager (demanding) to collect the sushi while still flying.

Weather conditions: rainy and partly cloudy.

More than 10 million visits on my stream! Wow, thank you all!

Please do not use my photos on websites, blogs or in any other media without my explicit permission.

Thanks a lot for your visit, fave and comments. Its truly appreciated!

While taking one our kids up to the wedding of the sister of one of their best friends getting married deep in the sticks or boonies in a small town near the Canadian border my wife and I had a scant day with marginal very cloudy weather to look around before we had to run our kid back home so they could be back to work on Monday. For those of you who aren't familiar northern New Hampshire at this time of year the woodlands are just starting to bud leaves and at some local peaks the night before had a foot and half of snow and the nearby access roads to local peaks and lift rides won't open up before Memorial Day Weekend. Nevertheless we manage to look around a decent bit with the very limited time we had with this river shot being one of the places we managed to find.

While attending a field trip to Chico Basin Ranch during the Western Field Ornithologist conference in Pueblo, Colorado, we came across this close Pronghorn. I've seen Pronghorn countless time, but always very distantly. He ran along the car for a while before stopping and allowing for some great shots.

Per usual, flickr degraded the quality but it's still a nice shot.

While I knew the sun would be high, this was the only shot I really wanted once I knew 1066 was leading 189

Dieser Schnappschuss hatte ich heute Abend bei meiner Hunderrunde im Wald auf die Schnelle mit meinem Handy machen können. Wie sagt man doch so schön? "Die beste Kamera ist immer die, die man gerade dabei hat" :-))

While there have been many attempts to recreate the process of flying, none have come closer to paragliding.

Switzerland is often thought of as heaven on earth due to its mesmerizing and spectacular views. Looking at this paradise while soaring in the sky is an extraordinary experience.

People who’ve done it describe the experience as fascinating and almost like being a bird.

I'm happy enough just by photographing them from afar 😊; having a zoom lens would have been wonderful but not possible when traveling light.

(There are two paraglides in this photo.)

Thank you for having a look, dear Flickr friend, I wish you a fine day!🌹🌷🌺

Introducing our new Sago Palm Trees!! While “palm” is part of their common name, sago palms are not really palms at all, they’re cycads. Like ferns, these giant beauties have been around since before the dinosaurs, and their stunning display is truly evocative of an age long gone. Dark green and lush with sturdy foliage, if your parcel or sim is on the beach or in a high temperature zone, this plant is for you.

These 100% original mesh creations are highly detailed with realistic textures and animated foliage resulting in a true, life-like appearance. A choice of four seasons are readily available via an easy to use pop-up menu to keep your landscaping current. Owner permissions allow Copy & Modify to ensure that each item can be adapted to suit your unique needs with a total land impact value of 3 Li.

While out driving came along this gem. Funny thing about photography, sometimes you don't need an amazing river, mountain or ocean to make a nice image. Just some nice light and the right conditions...

While I was waiting for the light show to start I took my time shooting the abandoned buildings. The show is just underway on the left above the round silo. this is 10:43 and the brilliant light spires started in ernest at 11:00. Watching the height of the green band above the horizon is a good way to predict if it will show up:)

While watching the strawberry super moon set in the west, the eastern sunrise was contending for some attention.

Yesterday while mowing the lawn I finished listening to "When Breath Becomes Air" for the second time. Nothing like bawling your eyes out while walking behind a power mower. The book is such a beautiful testament to figuring out how to live a meaningful life. Paul Kalanathi, the author, was a brilliant man and I am grateful he found meaning and drive to share his story. Start today and examine your life, where do you find meaning and purpose? No one can define your values for you, this takes work, time, and self-reflection. It's like the quote “The trouble is, you think you have time” from Jack Kornfield's Buddha's Little Instruction Book we skitter away our time mindlessly. Today I slowed down, breathed, sipped tea and enjoyed the sunlight in the crisp morning air.

While at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge I was able to photograph different water fowl nest building as they prepare to raise a family. It is busy and noisy in those nesting areas!!

While waking through a local Calgary city park with some friends, we came across this White-Tailed Deer enjoying his breakfast of wild grass.

Bucks begin to grow a new set of antlers as soon as the old set drops, which takes place any time from late January to March. At their peak growth rate in midsummer, antlers can grow up to half an inch a day. By September, the velvet covering has sloughed off to reveal the hardened rack underneath.

In this photo of the male deer taken towards the end of July he still has is velvet covering on his antlers

While hiking it is nice as walk along to take in the scenery as go. On my home turf in the Northeast you are pretty much surrounded by trees until you reach that mountain overlook or that waterfall. But in the red rock country of the southwest there is ample beautiful scenery as you go. Taken in Arches National Park.

while passing an apartment complex on my walk the other day,

the bold colors caught my eye - HCS!

What a luxury that would be !

While I sit here at the computer with a hot water bottle strapped to my sciatica via a knotted flanno shirt, and another hottie waiting for me already in bed ( hot water bottle ), the pain is finally easing and I just want to be lulled to sleep, with no dogs barking at wallabies, no getting up and down to let the girls in and out ... in and out, all flamin' night ... just want to ease my mind of all the stuff going on lately, all the things I'm supposed to be doing but can't, all the humans who've annoyed the crap outta me lately, all the favours other people expect from me with no thought of lending me a hand,

…. all the ... all the … zzzzzz…..

Off to bed extra early folks, a huge thank you for all your support, with apologies I'm behind in some visits, and other visits too quick with faves and no comments, a stream of unanswered/unread Flickr mails waiting … I am so blinkin' tired..

no ed's..

Weeds in the wind, late afternoon, up the bank from the river bend, just down the road from town.

The light is from ther glare off a tin roof.

I could've sat there for longer the other day.

I like this large..

While wandering around a back street in Kutaisi, Georgia, I stumbled upon these old Soviet sculptures tucked away in an abandoned corner, long forgotten and yet still exuding a sense of grandeur from the long distant past.

while kicking back a few days in Florida at a friends home, I took this multiple image of some golfers, thru a lanai,(screen room), at the last hole of the day. Using my Pentax K3, I made a composite of eleven additive multiple exposures. My initial reading was 1/160th of a second at f/8 ISO 100. 1st exposure was set at half of that, 1/320th, then the remaining 10 exposures were made at 1/3200 of a second, which made up the balance of the other half of the original exposure and created the ghosting effect.

While biking from work to home, I saw this beautiful fog. Further on I came in this fog and the temperature dropped from 12 to 4 degrees. I wasn't prepared for that with my shorts and no gloves. Still more than half an hour in that cold until home. brrrrr

While researching the location via google and google maps, I actually discovered that behind this nice autumn row of trees on the other side of the shore hides, of all things a water treatment facility. Image was taken from the Towns County Recreational Beach & Playground looking east on Chatuge Lake. Sometimes you just never know what's behind the curtain. Hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend. :-)

While the saguaro cactus has become a symbol of the American West, the saguaro cactus will only grow in the Sonoran desert. As a desert indicator species, the range of the saguaro cactus is limited to southern Arizona.

The saguaro cactus is the largest cactus in the United States, and will normally reach heights of 40 feet tall. The tallest saguaro cactus ever measured towered over 78 feet into the air. The saguaro cactus grows as a column at a very slow rate, with all growth occurring at the tip, or top of the cactus. It can take 10 years for a saguaro cactus to reach 1 inch in height. By 70 years of age, a saguaro cactus can reach 6 and a half feet tall, and will finally start to produce their first flowers. By 95-100 years in age, a saguaro cactus can reach a height of 15-16 feet, and could start to produce its first arm. By 200 years old, the saguaro cactus has reached its full height, reaching upwards of 45 feet tall.

While it is strictly forbidden to access the still operating part of the factory, it was possible to enter the abandoned remains of the original mill.

While I think dragonflies are adorable and cute, truth is that they are stone cold killer carnivores chasing down their flying prey with superior speed and maneuverability. They are also very attached and loyal to their known perches and return to them with regularity. Dragonflies will hastily abanon the perches if another dragonfly, especially a bigger one flies close. They regularly steal each others perches. It is VERY unusual for two dragonflies to tolerate each other on the same perch and even MORE unusual for different species to share a perch. This is the first time I've witnessed and recorded the behavior. I am a layman so I really don't know much about it so if any entomologists out there want to add to this or correct me, all comments are welcome!

This is just the first time I'VE seen it.

While getting ready to go out for the night and work the Hallowe'en crowd, there was a loud knock at my apartment door.

I took a peek through the peep hole and it was J... with a gun!

Gingerly, I went to my bag and got my own gun... something that I took out in exchange from a Shore Patrol sailor type for my services.

"Take a powdah or I'll blast ya through da door", I yelled.

"Ya wanna talk ya can meet me all civil like!"

I then heard footsteps that lead to the stairs.

Taking a peek out my door, I saw J leaving the building.

I yelled after her, "I mean business goilie!"

"I'm gonna have to watch my back tonight", I mumbled.

HBM! While exploring a beach, about 5 mins from my home, while Peggy & Ted were visiting. A local guy, named Stan, has built these art installations that look like benches and armchairs and a barbecue pit.. They feel comfortable when you sit on them and enjoy the scenery. Best seen large by pressing L or Z.

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for your visits and comments.

While technically not until tomorrow, it is tomorrow somewhere and I liked the continuity.

Such is life in Florida. Have a great week!

While we were away on vacation our dog-sitter, Jim, took her to a backyard party. People threw her ball to her for hours, He said she kept eyeing the pond as she got hotter and hotter until eventually...

While out looking for birds I came face to face with this fellow. (Near Lake Wivenhoe, Queensland)

While waiting for action to happen at the nest sites at Wakodahatchee Wetlands, 3 Green Herons started chasing each other and this one passed right in front of me.

I zoomed the lens outward/wider while pressing the shutter for 0.3 seconds, using an ND filter to enable slowing the shutter to help create this effect. Is there a clever name for describing this effect?

Peregrine Falcons mainly eat birds, rarely mammals or rodents.

This is the first time I’ve witnessed a Peregrine Falcon eating a gopher.
