While on self imposed lockdown going through my archive organizer I came across this shot and after adjusting the contrast, lighting, saturation, hue and what have you I think it really came out nice. Have a nice day!

While visiting the Roman ruins at Italica, Spain, I was fascinated by the combination of palm trees & pines - a mixture that I would never see at home. The morning light was sublime!

18/01 The day when the scheduling of the Chain bridge's reconstruction finally been accepted. 4 more weeks to go continued by 2 yrs of closure.

while Jasper may have been sharp and on point, Christmas Bear seems to be a bit dazed and confused. I had to laugh when I saw Jasper like this, Bear between his paws. I got down on the floor and shot blind, a "trick" I use so he doesn't know I'm taking a picture.

While I am impressed by the additional mask capabilities of Lightroom I would say the Sky selection masking needs some work IMHO, on every image where I have used it has left a halo when I bring the image into Photoshop for final tweaking. Oct and early November are great times of the year to capture lake mist or more technically radiation fog, this occurs because the water has absorbed and retained the suns heat as air that has been cooled by the night temperatures that is moisture laden passes over warmer water of the lake. This scene is of my favorite places to welcome the morning and take in the light show as the sun rises at least when I don’t have a camera in hand and a cup of steaming coffee instead.

I took this on Oct 23rd, 2021 with my D850 and Tamron 15-30 f2.8 G2 Lens at 30mm, 1/5s, f8 ISO 64 processed in LR, PS +Topaz ,and DXO

While out feeding the birds had to snap a picture of my snowman in the backyard. Most schools in northern MI closed today but Charlevoix is open! We are once again in storm warning.

While photographing some fallen Autumn leaves I was in luck when a duck came into the frame.

While photographing Atka that day, as I can recall a Poodle walked by strutting her stuff. There was a Dog Show on Canada Day at Lions Park in Brantford On. and as you can see, Atka took notice of her. I'd do the same thing buddy, but I'd get a smack upside the head.

While most of the other weasels had already their brown summer coat this one still had its white winter fur. Easy to spot…Bavaria, Germany

While it seems every man and his dog were up the S&C again, I decided on a more local outing. Not being arsed to have a full day out and seeing 419 was allocated to this, there was really only one option in my opinion. Having done my local spots to death with this train and still not succeeding with the sun, I travelled further up the coast for a more scenic, picturesque view. St Bees is the location and running 46 minutes early, 37419 heads north with the usual monthly 1q47 Derby-Carlisle test train. 37423 was on the rear. Had it been on time it would've been touch and go with the sun as a bank of cloud had started to roll in by then.

Now thats just about every 37 nailed on this train, all I need now is 37425 in it's Regional Railway's livery to complete the set!!

While we were cycling along the Sava River, from Orašje to Bosanski Šamac, we came across this swamp, just at sunset. It would be a shame not to stop and take the camera from the saddlebag. Bicycle tour through Bosanska Posavina, Bosnia and Herzegovina, May 2023.

While chasing a S/B from Oneonta, I came across a N/B with pushers. U33Cs-756 & 762 were doing the honors. Earlier in the day, I caught the same two pushing another N/B.

While searching for Aplomado Falcons this week at Laguna Atascosa NWR we ran across this little beauty. They are pretty dull from a distance but if you are lucky enough to get close for a good look, they are actually quite pretty. I also find it pretty amazing that they can stand on all those cactus thorns and not get poked!

while waiting you...

While the stormy clouds building in the distance look good, it does not compete to what I saw when I arrived, and that was brilliant sun that made the good looking clouds absolutely spectacular. Regardless, the SD40-2W working hard on the home stretch back to Flint was worth it as it brings L514 back from Moterm with a decent size train.

Muzium Negara, Kuala Lumpur

While walking in our local park on a sunny day, I came across the ducks swimming in these colourful reflections. We saw Geese pulling up reeds to make their nests and a Swan was actually sitting on a nest. More signs of spring! It is slow coming…but it is coming. Happy Wing Wednesday!

While we stayed in Khao Sok we took a canoe journey down the local river. The scenery was amazing but we also saw some amazing wildlife along the way

While waiting on a tardy Big Boy departure from Denver, a northbound local on BNSF's Brush Sub is seen preparing to cross the UP Greeley Sub in Commerce City, CO.

While traveling on a country road this past weekend,we came across this T-intersection sign. It obviously caught the brunt of August 10's derecho winds which ranged from 75 to 100 mph in this area...

I hadn't expected to find a Tundra Swan at Anchor Point. In fact, it's the first Tundra Swan I've seen in Alaska. I suspect it's just passing through to it's breeding ground further North. Some of the other photographers present didn't shoot any photos thinking it's just the normal trumpeter swans and it wasn't until I was processing the images when I saw the yellow near the eye. A great find!

Taken 3 May 2023 at Anchor Point, Alaska.

While it was possible to catch an Alco leading a freight in the early 70's, it was quite extraordinary to find one on a TV train. Yet here's Penn Central Alco C425 2444 leading train TV9, one of PC's hottest, west at East Syracuse NY.

While doing some yard work this morning I noticed the cactus plant was blooming once again. I took a quick picture as the flower folds closed within just a few hours.

While out shooting I noticed a crop duster operating in the field next to me but didn't think much about it until the noise grew louder and I turned to see this. Immediately the famous crop duster scene in North By Northwest came to mind. I was tempted to run and make my escape but I'm no Cary Grant so I decided to take the photo instead.

As always, your faves and comments are appreciated. Constructive criticism and suggestions are especially welcome as I believe they help to make me a better photographer. Thank you for taking the time to look at my photos.

While these birds are relatively common, this is only the second time I have seen them.

After a very early start to photograph sunrise near-by, our Camera Club went onto the Yea River Wetlands.

I was so tired I could hardly keep my eyes open. Suffering also from vertigo at the moment, bird photography in particular is a challenge. However, it is amazing how you get a second burst of energy when you see something exciting to photograph! A large group of Yellow Robins danced around Andrew and I for about 20 minutes. Pure delight.

Captured at the Roadside in Himachal Pradesh, India

While testing out the new lens, which went about as well as expected (not perfect, but pretty darn good for the money) there was not a single bird out there! So, tonight you get....leaves!

While we were doing a cycling trip in Vietnam in 2014, we went by this large garden. I added a texture for the sky ( Thanks to Jerry Jones).

Alors que nous faisions un voyage à vélo au Vietnam en 2014, nous sommes passés par ce grand jardin. J'ai ajouté une texture pour le ciel (merci à Jerry Jones).

While visiting Yellowstone National Park we hiked several miles to the cabin at Cabin Creek. The cabin was constructed during the 1930's and somehow has survived wildfires in the area. The windows were barred and the doors padlocked.

Happy Window Wednesday!

While on the left (previous photo) Mr sleek and thin was pleasantly floating about in peace with ease, this monster was forming on my right, overtaking one sphere of space in the cloudzone.

There is a room for all up in the sky!! Keep your head up (:

while walking here, I saw steam comming up from the ground and the trees, it was magical!

While it may look like this pelican has a bone stuck in its throat, I've seen throat feature many times so I'm thinking it must be some sort of normal structure. Bizarre looking though.

while this boar took a short break between catching salmon.

He was standing behind some tall grasses and it looked like the perfect Kodak moment.

Happy Macro Monday to all flickr friends, HMM

While walking through farmlands between Caen and Bayeux, France, I stopped by a dairy farm. The farm buildings - still operational - dated to the 16th century. I found these climbing roses on the wall of one of these buildings to be attractive.

While exploring Copenhagen, we found this walkway bridge to Amager Strandpark (Amager Beach Park). Still a bit sunny but a nasty storm on the horizon creating a good contrast.

Added a little grain for texture and an Xpan crop ratio (2.70:1) to the image.

there haven't been a lot of snow pics from me,

so i guess a few will be ok-- right?

While hiking along the backside portion of the Cinder Cone Trail with a view looking to the southwest across the volcanic painted landscape. This is in Lassen Volcanic National Park. Lassen Peak, a distant backdrop beyond some nearby evergreen pine trees, serves as the focal point of this image. As I aligned myself to compose this image, I wanted to zoom in with the focal length to emphasize the mountain peak, while including some of the surrounding national park landscape for foreground interest.

While out living the glamorous life of a photographer that my friends all think I have, I dropped to one knee in hopes to capture a photo of the wildlife. To my surprise I had chosen the perfect spot filled with burs. While trying to contain myself with 8 burs buried in my knee, I try not to spook the wildlife and still get the shot. During this painful time this duck swims straight at me and waddles up as if to say, "Ali are you OK?".

Quite a while ago when i have been outdoors with my X-T4 and the XF70-300 for some shooting i took an image of this litlle blossom beauty. We planted this beautiful flower on my father's grave. You can almost dicover the grave beside it. I wanted the picture to convey a zest for life and a touch of the past. I think the picture expresses my feelings quite well. You have to know that my father loved flowers very much. A person is only forgotten when no-one thinks of them any more.

While I really love the orange glow from inside Taliesin at night, the textures in and around the house really come out with black and white.
