While looking at East Canyon Creek Falls, I looked a little farther upstream and found this waterfall where Tule Creek empties into East Canyon Creek. There wasn't any reference to it on the Northwest Waterfall Survey, but the upper part of the creek seems to be known to canyoneers, here: ropewiki.com/Tule_Canyon_(South_Cascades)
While staying in Eugene Oregon last summer we had the pleasure of occasionally seeing black-tailed deer roam through the area behind the house we were staying in. There were several apple trees that I'm sure played a part in attracting the deer to come through this area. The deer would stop to eat apples off the ground, and on one occasion I watched a buck rear up on its hind legs and grab an apple off of one of the lower branches.
Thanks to everyone for stopping by to view, fave, and comment!!
While visiting Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore on Lake Superior on Michigan's upper peninsula, we strolled this beautiful beach near our campground.
While walking a street in London, Ontario, I met this dog carrying a two metre long stick. He was so proud! The owner laughed, wondering if he'd be able to carry it one more kilometre to its home.
While visiting a local park, I spotted this Wood Duck on the pond. These guys always light up their surroundings with attitude and color… it was a very good morning ;-)
The Wood Duck is one of the most stunningly pretty of all waterfowl. Males are iridescent chestnut and green, with ornate patterns on nearly every feather; the elegant females have a distinctive profile and delicate white pattern around the eye. These birds live in wooded swamps, where they nest in holes in trees or in nest boxes put up around lake margins. They are one of the few duck species equipped with strong claws that can grip bark and perch on branches.
Wood Ducks pair up in January, and most birds arriving at the breeding grounds in the spring are already paired. The Wood Duck is the only North American duck that regularly produces two broods in one year.
The Wood Duck nests in trees near water, sometimes directly over water, but other times over a mile away. After hatching, the ducklings jump down from the nest tree and make their way to water. The mother calls them to her but does not help them in any way. The ducklings may jump from heights of over 50 feet without injury.
The oldest recorded Wood Duck was a male and 22 years. He had been banded in Oregon and was found in California.

This photo is from Marado [Mara Island]. Marado represents the southernmost point in South Korean territory. The island is about 30km from the southern port of Jeju and the trip by ferry took about 15-20 minutes. The island is comparatively small (approximately 0.3 square kilometers) and you can walk around its entirety at a leisurely pace in about 90 minutes. Marado is home to about 90 residents and "…has long been known for its population being composed of strong women and docile men." (Wiki). While there, we saw traditional "haenyeo" women divers actively working at their trade of free diving to gather seafood.

I look at the world and I notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

While enjoying a fall like morning at a cafe, it occurred to us that it's 9/11...I'm shocked we actually forgot. I don't feel like I've seen much on the news either...have we all just moved on? I can never forget that day and what I have witnessed first hand living in NYC at the time...
While the sun was slowly setting, a bulk cloud came up and partially blocked the sun rays, dividing them into two parts and creating this harmonious rainbow mood.
(I applied some touches to get that artistic feel).
While the South of Europe is suffering of a tremendous heat here we have, today, + 19 C. (66,2 F)
Rain? Not yet.
While I knew that I was on the Wonderland and I knew where Gertrude was parked, I didn't know that I was going the wrong way..... It wasn't an unpleasant hike, just not the one I was expecting. This gem stood out and since I didn't know what I was looking at it's all the more mysterious. It turns out that this 52 foot drop of Martha here is actually a small part of a 670 foot waterfall. NW waterfall survey says that it is impossible to see it in its entirety, but most of it can be seen from Stevens Canyon Road, no pull out so be careful.
Someday I'll post a pic of the falls themselves, but I like this one because this is how you first see it, exiting the tree line and.... hello.
While visiting Marble Canyon I was hoping to see some of the nesting condors there by the bridges that cross the Colorado River.
For 10 minutes on one of late mornings (I was sleeping in as I was up late each night taking the Milky Way photos) got extremely lucky with several of them flying around. Very exciting to see.
while exploring for photo opportunities I met this Luscious Red Head. Seems she is named just that :)
While Oleg is having fun with Paddy in Australia, Peter gets to see Mummy Marian's grandson for the first time. She has to babysit Rune for a while. Peter is overjoyed.
ME:
Look Peter, there's Rune in the pram.
PETER:
Can I give Rune a kiss Mummy Marian?
ME:
You may, but you have to be very careful or he'll wake up.
Carefully, Mummy Marian puts Peter next to Rune.
Peter gives him a snuffly bear kiss on his nose.
PETER:
Do you want to be my friend Rune? I have a very best friend called Scout and ...and...and I have a princess who is very beautiful...and,,,,and I'm sure you would like to see her.
And...and ...you feel so soft....and you are so sweet.....and
ME:
Now I'll get you out of the pram Peter and we let Rune sleep.
PETER:
Thank you for letting me meet Rune Mummy Marian
ME:
You will get to see Rune many more times Peter, I promise
Tomorrow Rune will be two weeks
While the people watching at the depot did not know that M399 had a BCOL barn leading (including one who had never heard of BC Rail before), I was ready, and found it different to see something good in daylight.
While we're on the subject of the magic of sunlight, I spontaneously have another, no less beautiful example.
In my last photo from here (Peace and Freedom) you could already see this building in the background and hidden behind some fog.
It is the famous Bastei Bridge in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on the rock of the same name.
In retrospect, I would have liked to have been here a little earlier to catch the moment when the sun shines through the crack in the rock below where you see it now.
But I was stopped at another point that, in my opinion, was absolutely worth it. What you will soon be able to judge for yourself based on the results. Plus, as we all know, you're always smarter afterwards and so I'm very satisfied and happy with this result.
Was Ihr in Kürze an Hand der Ergebnisse selbst beurteilen dürft. Außerdem ist man hinterher bekanntlich immer schlauer und so bin ich sehr zufrieden und glücklich mit diesem Ergebnis.

While most UP trains look about the same today, Echo Canyon is as timeless as ever, and a joyful area to spend time. UP 2719 leads a Green River - Roseville train as it marches down the 1.14% with 119 cars, including a pair of ET44AH Tier-4 units in the power consist.

The seasons have changed, nothing has changed
But I know something happened
It's all so different
Do you remember when we arrived one day to believe
That everything was forever, without knowing
That forever, always ends
But nothing can change what's left
When I think of someone, all I think about is you
And then we're fine
Even with so many reasons to leave everything as it is
Neither giving up nor trying now doesn't matter
We are going back home
While watching the sun slowly set over the Aegean Sea I thought of Flickr friends and thought I would set up this glass of Alpha beer to you. Luckily it didn't fall as there were seagulls waiting below hoping for something.
Cheers

Sorry I am on holiday and not commenting for a while but will be back in about 10 days
This pair of Goldcrests have been in the garden for the last few days - chasing each other around the place and, I’m hoping, looking for a place to nest. The make has a dash of orange on his crest while the female’s crest is pure yellow. These are the smallest breeding birds in Ireland. So lucky!
While travling through eastern Hokkaido we were hit with a strong snow storm. I shot this shot of the big snowflakes near the side of the road. Hope you can see the flakes in this photo. 20250125 Big Flakes Blue - Hokkaido Japan
While photographing the streets of Stockholm I was cheerfully greeted by this happy group seated with their beers at an outdoor bar. They clearly wanted me to take this photo.
While the man attraction of the Raton pass line is the semaphores, another disappearing element of the railroad fabric that lingers on Raton is the code line. Some code lines remain, but the number of conductors and supporting crossarms have dwindled since this view of the eastbound Southwest Limited at Levy, New Mexico.
While camping, during the day there was no shortage of Vireos and Warblers around the camp site. Generally they would be in the trees, but with patience occasionaly one would pop into the open. An immature Yellow-rumped Warbler, that had just chowed down on a Daddy-long-legs spider (the legs still sticking out of its bill).

I've been thinking a lot about my more youthful days recently. I remember being 19 years old and thinking I knew everything. But the older I get the more I feel I don't know anything.
Anyway, this photo was taken at a couple shoot I did a while back. It reminds me of the movie Gladiator.
While driving through South Woodstock, VT, we saw an incredible red barn on a meticulous and beautiful farm. We later discovered that Michael J. Fox (Actor) was the previous owner having sold it a few years ago. The setting is amazing. (Edited in Lightroom, Photoshop and Topaz)
While Thursday's morning fog was quickly replaced by a golden sunrise, yesterdays thick fog stayed around for hours. So really a cold white out over the lake.

While visiting Toronto a while ago, I was downtown and came upon this small park. There was this fountain with these two pigeons on it, so naturally I had to get photos of them. We don't have may brown colored pigeons where I am, so this was kinda cool
While driving off the beaten track yesterday, this clump of Agapanthus caught my eye. A full framed image taken after I parked the car.
While the weather forecast did not look favorable for the westbound deadhead run of the CP business train we decided to pursue the train anyway. Then CP stuck the train at the "Murray Motel" for a couple of hours waiting for other trains. The result was the sun did indeed come out, and the high sun period passed so DK and I could go crazy shooting the train, along with many others. Here is the "shot of the day" as the train traverses the Minnesota lake country east of Elbow Lake.
While driving the backroads of hills and woods between Elizabeth and Galena,IL.,we came across this old barn clinging to the side of a rocky hill next to a pretty deep gully.I can only imagine the efforts to not only keep that barn stabilized, but also to keep that fence from washing out during every heavy rain....
HFF everyone!
For a while I have been struggling of how I will go on with my photography journey. There seems to be sort of a ''deadlock'' that does not go where I wish it should go, or I feel stucked in a maze where no door seem to exist..Not only in my hobby but in my real life I feel the same too..I do not wish to say goodbye yet; but I think I need to take a Break..I will still be here-following your lovely works, but it seems that I will not share something for a while; nor I may not be taking any photos for a while either..
I wish to close the programme with an image taken with Oleks-Alexandra, in the name of the all models-who supported me during my shootings:))
Just want to thank you all:))
