Where there are fishing nets and boats, there seems to be birds. This is such a common sight in Cochin and the surrounding area.
I first saw Cochin when it was a port of call of the Star Clipper lines. You have seen the water flowers of the backwaters. They also fill some of the harbor of this area too. Imagine slowing coming into port on a huge clipper ship with mammoth sails flying and seeing this fishing paradise.
If that wasn't enough to take your breath away, there are graceful Chinese fishing nets adorning the coast as well. Cochin is a memorable city.

The majestic Rocky Mountains rise suddenly out of the rolling prairies. The vast grass lands support an abundance of wildlife. The rolling prairie still is prime range for the bison. This unique landscape of mountain and prairie was providing food and shelter for great herds animals long before Europeans reached North America. The photo was taken between Waterton and Calgary, enjoying one side of rocky mountains and another side of rolling prairies… The haystacks in the rolling fields were dyed green, no clue why...

Green Point Lighthouse located in Port de Grave. We randomly found it while out for a Sunday drive and I was more then pleased. It sits alone out there on the rugged coastline and stands tall on the barren landscape. She is simple in structure but beautiful to look at. One of these days I'll venture back here again. I just love this area and need more time explore!

Okay, I know that's not a hard one :) He was fishing there and I had no idea that there might be fish in this marsh.
I think most of you know this place by now, as I love to go there, and had the opportunity to stop for a few minutes last week. It was a cloudy day but that's how I like it.

There's something about mushrooms that always makes me think of magic and fairies. Not seen one yet though... :-(
One of my recent in-camera monochromes with the helios lens, but given a slight creative twist for fun. (Produced by adding coloured pixel layers and using blend ranges to restrict the colours to just the highlights. With a bit of masking to get the colours where I wanted them. [The colours were purposefully kept really subtle, so don't worry if you miss them!] )
