A little blue heron gingerly walks through the shallows looking for minnows. Given the amount of duckweed on the surface and the number of alligators nearby, I'm not so sure I would be in the water!
Thanks so much to everyone who takes the time to view, like or comment on my photos!

Nature is what we know -
Yet have not art to say -
So impotent our wisdom is
To her simplicity

Even with all the rain of late, an intrusive tree trunk just keeps hanging around.
Sylvia Falls this morning.
This young Northern Cardinal was in the Rose of Sharon tree trying to eat the flower buds that were just beginning to grow.
Guess when you're young there's a whole lot to explore and learn about. And eating Rose of Sharon buds is one of those things you just gotta do!

This image was captured at the Museum of Tomorrow in Rio de Janeiro. This is the question we must ask ourselves for 2021: What do we want for our tomorrow?
What world do we want for our children?

As soon as I saw this week's theme an image came into my mind. It was taken in March 2011 and has been uploaded before, but I have reprocessed it today for the group. Ishmael got left behind when the rest of us went through a gate, I turned around and this is what I saw - HSoS!
What’s Left
The remains of autumn rusted on the far shore of Moreau Lake, quiet and still, cupped by the forest and sheltered by the heights behind me. Burnt foliage, long past peak, hangs on somehow, waiting for the next big wind. All is quiet, no voices, or wood smoke, no paddles hitting gunwales, no evening strollers; I can imagine them though, ghosts of the summer crowd on the far shore, invisible on the strand of beach lit in an unearthly white from 239,000 miles away. On a new full moon, a curious illumination occurs, with the sun just down still throwing a glow on a landscape lit as well by the rising moon. I am here by chance, watching what’s left of the color, what’s left of the season, what’s left of the day. Perhaps I’m a scavenger in a sense. Or maybe an opportunist. Nature is spiteful, showing off even when it thinks no one is looking. It suits me well, as I have a very short list of who I want to see her with. When it’s all been seen, I’ll take what’s left.
Well I'm going to bore you all again with even more images from that last visit up to Seaham
I came away with so many images I was fairly happy with and as unfortunately we don't seem to be getting away as much as we used to, this is what I have to work with
I've said many times previously how I often see faces in the waves. On this occasion I think the wave looks rather like a sea monster, rising from the deep
The conditions that morning although not great to start with and one or two togs seemed to call it a day, due to the rain. We stuck it out, as the waves continued to pound their way toward shore
Then from no where we got this beautiful light, backlighting the mist/rain as it headed out to sea
It provided a wonderful atmosphere, conditions you don't often get
So here it is, the creature from beneath
Recommendation I keep forgetting to mention - Billy & Molly - Disney Plus
Its a story about an otter on Shetland
You can't not be touched, I cried at one point
So worth watching, if you've not already

Gone are the blue skies and cold temperatures; the snow is melting, it is raining, it is windy and the sky is a drab grey.
The mono conversion seemed appropriate.

It's good that you are, what a marvel that I am!
Two different songs, colliding, blending,
Two colors never before seen together,
One very low, turned towards the ground,
One very high, almost torn in the frosty air,
An unmatched battle of wonder that you are,
Of chance that I am
I swear everytime I post something its related to some stupid change which has occured. Ugh. The last of the MRL locomotives have finally been removed from mainline service due to BNSF PTC going live. How ironic that the MRL was actually who began this PTC project but in the end became the victim. It's truly a waste as all 5 GP35's are likely sidelined but at the very least unable to lead trains any longer. Over the last few years of its existence the MRL spent over $500,000 to upgrade all 6 GP35's with a complete rewire and upgrade of the control system. MRL 405 has an easy tell by the red antennae right behind the cab. A close eye will also reveal the MRL 404 has been completed, as the class lights it wore its entire career have been removed and tastefully patched during the rewire. This was all done in house by MRL employees, not contractors. Now, who knows what will happen to them? Always thought they were pretty neat units who didn't seem to be very popular elsewhere but for the most part were very good workhorses in local service across Montana.
“What do you love more?” she teased. “My hair or my heart?”
“Why give me only two choices?
Don’t leave out your legs, your laugh, the way you bite your lip when you’re thinking,
the feel of your breath on my face, the sound of your voice in the morning,
the way you taste, the three freckles on your nose, the fan of your eyelashes,
the caring spirit, the determined soul —
so why stop at your hair and your heart?
How do you expect me to choose?
When what I love the most about you — is you.”
