Flatland 26.2 view of recent northern hemisphere earthquakes. By coincidence, they form a roughly straight line across the surface of the Earth. (If plotted on a flat map, you'd get a pretty curve instead.)
From left to right, M6.9 earthquake off the Tohoku coast of Japan, M6 earthquake off the Kamchatka Peninsula, M5.6 earthquake in the Coast Range of California north of San Francisco, and in Venezuela (about an M7.1, twice for added insult).
This version of Flatland 26.2 was running on my iPad, not my desktop.

Visualizing Palestine is committed to social justice and change for the better in Palestine. It focuses on the failure of the organizations involved in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, effective deployment of communication tools (and not relying exclusively on dry-as-dust reports, tables and graphics) and the inability of the media to deliver unbiased coverage (instead of providing one-sided reportage that concentrates on Hamas).

Personas is a component of the Metropath(ologies) exhibit, currently on display at the MIT Museum by the Sociable Media Group from the MIT Media Lab.
"Personas demonstrates the computer's uncanny insights and its inadvertent errors, such as the mischaracterizations caused by the inability to separate data from multiple owners of the same name."
Here (view large), the Personas tool processes 15 pages of web search results for the term "Ryan Ozawa" to provide this visualization of a personal profile. There is at least one other Ryan Ozawa out there, but I'd guess that 97 percent of the data used relates to me.
