"T O P O L O G Y" is a meditation of the word visualized in three dimensions in a tangible form. The form is constructed with a Z-Corp CNC prototyping machine and isosurf. "T O P O L O G Y" is the first in a series of 3-D forms created from the orientation of the letters.

Spent a bunch of time wrestling with blender trying to get something close to those rail lights. Spent nearly 2 hours tweaking radiosity and ray tracing settings trying and failing to get the right translucent glass effect and indirect and direct lighting effects using a lamp light source inside a cone of glass by tweaking all kinds of traceable, recieve shadow, material settings before I found the yafray GI settings that made it all turn on. Of course, slowed everything down, and I get the dimpled effect of a photon test. Like most of my more valuable learning experiences: painful. The image on the ceiling is an ancient map.

This is a tagcloud of the categories used in 30.000 weblogs. Generated for our project, but not perfect yet. We probably should do some form of stemming.

It was a good day. I stayed even-tempered. The best christmas evening in the last years.

Again, this shot draws the viewer's attention and wonder to heaven above and the sky.

The Cheesy Animation offering Services is 3D Architectural Visualization.

The startup I work at did a friendly type of launch today, making our service Fidg't available to public eyes.

The basic 1 line description is that we take your contacts from various social networking services (we're starting small, supporting all the chat networks + flickr + lastfm) and their services together into a meta/reference contact. We then have 3 main utilities for that aggregated list:

1. A mobile client that runs on most Nokia Nseries phones, giving you social media browsing + chat.

2. Desktop visualization tool that lets you import and visualize media + tags from your aggregated Fidg't network, or from random flickr or lastfm networks (pictured, becuase it looks the coolest)

3. Web tools that let you manage this list of people, including the ability to activate/deactivate contacts, create new groupings, or import new contacts into your list.

Anyway, if you have a minute, check it out, report bugs or try to break it. The service is definitely not super robust at this point, but we just wanted to get it out there and gather some feedback.

Using satellite imagery from NASA, the Realtime Monitor displays the global reach of the grid. With only a 3-minute delay, it shows running and scheduled jobs, transfers and other computing elements for each site. You can move around the globe, zoom in, and isolate a particular virtual organization or resource broker.

Artist, coder, hacker, sound designer, DJ, Turntablist and VJ, Daito Manabe from Tokyo redefines existing media and technologies using unique angles. Daito Manabe's physical "Face Visualizer" is a device that converts music into electronic impulses to stimulate the facial muscles. The result: a synchronized "Face Dance".

Revolve's photo exhibition launch at the Halles Saint Gery in downtown Brussels on July 1, 2014. In the presence of the City of Brussels, the Brussels Environment Agency (IBGE) and REScoop.

A slide I often include, when giving talks on data visualization. Highlighted text (in red) says "Are you telling the truth?" with your data.

The Foundation develops a data visualization tool in conjunction with its landmark Survey of the Afghan People. Visualizing Afghanistan brings even more accessibility to the Foundation’s extensive survey data on Afghanistan. Users can map responses by region, compare national or regional totals on a year-by-year basis, or expand and explore supplementary data.

This I created for an architect. The design made by the architect and the 3D Visualization made by me.
