VisualizEd Udacity vs. Coursera

To view the 3D aspects of this image, you need ChromasDepth glasses.

Prof. Bob Behringer and his graduate student Abe Clark, along with Prof. Lou Kondic of NJIT, recently had a paper accepted in PRL titled "Particle scale dynamics in granular impact." The image at left is a typical image from one of their experiments, where the bright particles are experiencing force.

I try to always be prepared for anything. For that I wear almost exclusively black robe, I am.

...planning....thinking about this years garden.......wondering what will work, how it will look? Every year it's different.......a surprise .

I started collecting my seed for this season. In the next couple of weeks I can start my veggie garden.

Vray Interior Visualization Course

The Course will cover,

In Modeling:

Customizing the UI using scripts.

Spline modeling in conjunction with some modifiers , including ; tables, the floor lamp, vases, wall clock.

Using V-ray fur for the floor carpet.

Using ATree free script to create flowers and plants.

Using V-ray displacement to create cutouts.

Optimizing V-ray displacement to areas that are seen through the camera for memory optimization.

Using ArchiCAD to model the building and refining in 3Ds Max.

Using some free scripts to place books in bookshelf randomly.

Using Animation tools to scatter objects on our models.

Using graphite modeling tool-set

In Shading:

Using V-ray blend to create complex materials .

Using quick scripts to interactively see the results of complex textures without the need of full rendering.

Using V-ray 2 sided to create translucency for objects.

Creating worn out edges with the use of V-ray displacement and V-ray Dirt.

Optimizing all scene materials to have the best quality n the least rendering time.

Most of the materials in the scene are made of complicated shading networks

In Rendering:

Using V-ray 3.0's new features that will help in rendering this scene faster and modifiable.

make use of all different V-ray lights and how to optimize those and a general lighting solution which will work in many interior scenes.

Rendering many different render passes including masks for all materials, separating lights, reflection, refraction and ....

In compositing:

Layering all our different passes together to achieve a result we want.

Changing the individual lights effect in our scene without the need to re-rendering.

Color correcting many of our elements with ease using the masks that we rendered out.

Adding extra texture to some objects and learn how to blend them nicely with the scene.

The analysis of football teams as networks of individuals.

Connections between players according to the number of passing. position in the field according the to area where each player receives the pass (centroid with weights).

The startup I work at did a friendly type of launch today, making our service Fidg't available to public eyes.

The basic 1 line description is that we take your contacts from various social networking services (we're starting small, supporting all the chat networks + flickr + lastfm) and their services together into a meta/reference contact. We then have 3 main utilities for that aggregated list:

1. A mobile client that runs on most Nokia Nseries phones, giving you social media browsing + chat.

2. Desktop visualization tool that lets you import and visualize media + tags from your aggregated Fidg't network, or from random flickr or lastfm networks (pictured, becuase it looks the coolest)

3. Web tools that let you manage this list of people, including the ability to activate/deactivate contacts, create new groupings, or import new contacts into your list.

Anyway, if you have a minute, check it out, report bugs or try to break it. The service is definitely not super robust at this point, but we just wanted to get it out there and gather some feedback.

The 3D project completed in november 2007.

After reading a tutorial by Jer Thorpe on the introduction to Data Visualization I came up with this representation of code repository's data.

This angle creates great height in the shot and allows room for appropriate index vectors.

This is one of my student exercises. The task was to visualize the song Unfinished Sympahty. The format is pretty long so you can see it better at full size.

And here's the song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGYRvIOZfZ8 if you want to compare the result :)

Neat Visualization mode for Boom Boom Rocket. You can play your own songs and it'll set the fireworks off to it. Pretty neat.
