he moved slowly. his silhouette sharp against the concrete curves. the city’s embrace felt cold. quiet. only shadows watched him pass.
a man stops to tie his shoe. everyone else keeps moving, blurred figures in transit, reflections stretching across the ceiling. the station hums with motion, but in this moment, he is still. münchner freiheit, a pause in the rush.

barcelona, one of those narrow side streets where time seems to slow down.
i saw him standing there – still, immersed, like part of the stone and shadow.
i asked for a portrait, and he agreed with a quiet nod.
then i asked him to lower his glasses,
just a little, to let the light catch those immense eyes.
now i look at these frames and still can't decide which one tells the story best.
maybe it’s not about choosing.
maybe it’s about letting them all speak.
Strong tides were battering the beach at Black Rock at lunch time and covering the pebbles in soapy foam.
she runs, light-footed, as if chasing something unseen. behind her, the tree’s shadow stretches, reaching, almost alive. time folds in on itself, the past flickers on stone. maybe she was here before. maybe she never left.
I love it when the Brighton Marathon or half marathon happens on a day with perfect weather. I take my Canon R and my iPhone, sit on the grass verge and swap between them depending what I'm shooting. The best shots with the Canon are the triple exposures. The iPhone is best for individual runners and small groups, panoramas, videos and cinematic. They're not to everybody's taste but I feel they capture the heart of the marathon.
Brighton and Hove attractions are turning blue and white on all the match days that the Seagulls play in the European League at the Amex Stadium. They played the Dutch giants Ajax on the 26th October and had their first European win 2-0.
Nadine at Vitebsky Railway Station — a moment of quiet waiting.
The echo of trains, old walls, a calm breath before moving again.
Part of my diploma project inspired by Peter Lindbergh’s way of finding stories in stillness.

Надин на Витебском вокзале — мгновение тихого ожидания.
Эхо поездов, старые стены, спокойный выдох перед следующим шагом.
Часть моего дипломного проекта, вдохновлённого умением Питера Линдберга находить историю в неподвижности.

a play of light and glass. the wellendorff display reflected in breitling’s window, a person mirrored back into wellendorff’s world. layers of reality blending into each other. who is watching whom?

Leuchtende Mohnblumen tanzen am Rand des Feldes, während das goldene Licht des Abends die Landschaft in warme Ruhe hüllt.

Welche Wege führen dich zurück zu dir selbst?
robinson and siena were siblings. i met them at palma fotográfica. they carried an old nikon, shooting film. i asked if i could take their portraits. they said yes. the light was right. the moment, too.
I took 4 pics like this and they’re all blurry around his beak. I haven’t edited so I’m wondering if it’s a white patch behind his beak?
a fleeting moment at plaza mayor in madrid, where light and shadow play on ancient cobblestones. a silhouette strides through the archway, suspended between darkness and light. the shadow stretches long, chasing memories of countless footsteps before. time pauses, the city breathes. a scene both timeless and transient, etched in stark contrast.
cast against the wall in morning light, she walks — quiet, unseen, carrying presence in absence. the shape of a mother, a stroller, a gesture. nothing more. and everything.
Rough seas on the coastline around Black Rock beach today. Just beyond this sign the beach drops sharply down at least 2 metres. The spray in this image is the result of the huge waves hitting the incline.
Frameless is described as an immersive art experience and I have to say it truly exceeded my expectations. It features four galleries, with 43 Masterpieces which travel around the walls, floors and ceiling of the galleries to beautiful, relaxing music. The works include Monet, Dali, Van Gogh, Rembrandt .........and Edward Munch, The Scream.
This tree clearly decided it was going to produce it’s beautiful pink blossom out of season.
It’s bypassed autumn - far too yellow!
And bypassed winter - far too cold.
I wonder what it will do in spring 🤔
The railway runs from Black Rock to Brighton Pier, Easter till October and is operated by a large team of volunteers. It was opened in 1883 by Magnus Volt and remains the worlds longest operating electric railway. It will remain a big feature along the length of the 'rejuvenated' Madeira Drive/Black Rock beach.
The entrance hall to Asda in the marina is packed full of vibrant, happy Pride gnomes. I'm always surprised to see they're sold out by the end of the week. The Pride Parade is not till August so I'm also surprised that they don't get more stock in. After all we are Brighton.
I don't believe they ever sold out of the Royal Coronation gnomes earlier in the year.
At this point the participants thought they had 18.2 miles left to run. They should have had 18.2 miles left to run. Unfortunately through ‘human error’ the course was .35 miles longer than a marathon and the organisers had to apologise to the 7, 500 runners.
captured in munich's city center, this photograph features a young woman sitting on a bench in front of an old brick church. her relaxed posture and contemplative expression, along with the cigarette in her hand, create a poignant scene of introspection and solitude. the black-and-white composition emphasizes the texture of the brick wall and the subtle details of her coat, highlighting the quiet intensity of the moment.
I was walking along the boardwalk taking pics of the March of the Mermaids and decided to go up on the promenade and take pics looking down. And there I came across Sarah taking a mini break from her wedding ceremony on the Bandstand!
Whilst Sarah was looking beautiful the scene behind her was a queue of brightly coloured cars, hence I changed the backdrop to mono.
'The Marriage of Sarah Hoyle and Steve May took place on The Bandstand on Saturday 1st July 2023 between 14.30 pm and 16.30 pm'
I took the photo of Falmer Ponds 4 weeks ago. It looked so lush and green with the added bonus of all the ducks and geese enjoying the water. Today it is virtually dried out.
I love this time of year when the starlings return and jostle each other to line up on the boat masts. If the windows are open I hear their chorus way before I look out and see them.
They arrive earlier in the year now just like our human seasons. They used to settle in their thousands but sadly the marina are using the services of a Harris Hawk to frighten them and the gulls away from the boats ;-((
captured in palma de mallorca, this photo depicts the silhouette of a man deep in thought, with the shadow of a street lamp cast above him. in german, there is a saying "ein licht geht auf," which means "a light goes on" when someone finds a solution or understands something. the interplay of light and shadow in this image beautifully symbolizes the moment of realization and clarity.
