XAS 510 displayed at the Echoes of History 2019 event at Purleigh, Essex.

The owner of this vehicle said that it had been in service with the United States Navy.

The Chevrolet 3100 was part of their Advance Design range release in the early post war years and continued in production until 1955.

Only went out of service in 1986 after being built in 1877 for the London Brighton and South Coast Railway. Now has Grade II listed status and a preservation society to safeguard it.

Water dripping off a wire during a thunder shower at a farm near Ludhiana, Punjab.

I was visiting a friend at his farm during the harvesting of his fields. The day saw unseasonal rain that can be disastrous for standing crops. After some quick action by my friend to manage and protect the already harvested grains, it was time to pray and wait out the storm. Having taken refuge from the rain under a shed, I saw him looking contemplatively towards his fields. Thinking about his ponderous mood, I tried to visualize his pensive perspective through this shot.

Not sure how old this is as it was given to me from an older friend the first time that I went to see speedway at the Rayleigh Weir Stadium, Essex. The last meeting there was on 20th October 1973. The Rockets did re-emerge at Rye House in Hertfordshire, but alas are no more.

The XK140 was available from late 1954 through to 1957

This fixed head coupé model is perhaps not quite so photogenic as the open roadster version. Still a very desirable motor car though..

Tibetan Prayer Flags in a rooftop cafe in Manali, Himachal.

It's a common misconception that the flags are meant to carry prayers to the Gods. Rather, the Tibetans believe that the mantras on the flags will be carried by the winds everywhere to spread goodness, compassion and wisdom for the benefit of all.

Baya Weaver female bird perched on a wild bush near Ludhiana, Punjab.

The Baya Weaver female plumage is unremarkable in shades of brown, unlike the male especially in its bright yellow breeding plumage. Though Shruti would disagree, we know which gender nature meant to have the striking looks!

Not easy to see this ghost sign on the gabled end of a row of shops and flats. It reads Continental Garage, but at some point may have been overwritten with Prince's Garage.
