Label reads:"This wine was made from equal quantities of Pinot Chardonnay ans Semillon grapes blended after vintage. The Wines were fermented in German Oak casks and then transferred to new Nevers Oak Hogsheads for two months prior to bottling. The wine shows good Chardonnay character on the nose and palate which has been lifted and made more complex by the small wood treatment. I believe this to be a full flavoured well balanced stlye that will mature quickly and be ideal for drinking at 1 to 2 years old. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker"

To acheive this character the grapes were allowed to remain on thevines until very ripe. After fermentation, maturation was carried out in 1000 gallon oak casks until bottled in September 1966.
