Label reads: Estd 1877 McWilliam's Mount Pleasant Philip Hermitage 1966 As far as can be determined, the Hermitage grape originally came from Persia and it is now one of the main red grape varieties grown in the Rhone Valley in France where it is known as the "Petite Syrah" It is also grown extensively throughout Australia where it is renowned forthe high quality of the wine which it produces in the Pokolbin district of the Hunter Valley This wine produced from Hermitage grown on the heavy volcanic loam on the slopes of Mount Pleasant, is a full bodied robust dry red which should continue to age and improve for many years. It spent a proportion of its wood ageing in 65 gallon oak hogsheads before being bottled in Feburay 1968 From the House of McWilliam made at our Pokolbin Cellars, a fine vintage wine from the Hunter Valley district of Australia McWilliam's Wines Pty. This wine was made from equal quantities of Traminer and Semillon grapes blended at the crusher and fermented cold for a long period. The fermentation was halted to leave 1% residual sugar in the wine vwhich was bottled early to retain freshness and flavour. The wine shows the aromatic bouquet and flavour of the Traminer variety which is balanced by fresh clean acid of Semillon. This is a slighty sweet fruity style that is ideal for immediate drinking if served slighty chilled. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker."

Label reads:"The 1975 Vintage in the Hunter Valley has produced light Whites similar to those of the 1972 Vintage. This wine was made from Traminer grapes grown in the Pokolbin district. Traminer is an early ripening variety and the grapes for this wine were amongst the first picked for the 1975 Vintage. The wine was fermented under very cold conditions to retain the natural aromatic characteristics of the Traminer variety. This wine has a high aromatic nose, a fruity slightly sweet palate and a clean spritzig finish. This wine will improve with further bottle ageing if stored at temperatures not exceeding 18° C.
