This rich, luscious Sauternes was vintaged from Semillon and Verdelhao grapes grown at Lindeman's Hunter River Vineyards, and was matured in small oak casks. The grapes were allowed to hang on the vines until late in the season before picking, to become almost raisins and to concentrate the flavour. The Subsequent wine is extremely sweet and rich in character and when served chilled is an ideal accompaniment to desserts."

Label reads:" The 1976 Vintage in the Hunter Valley has produced White wines that are light and delicate with good fruit and a high acid finish. This vintage experience hot dry conditions through Spring and early Summer and then increasingly wet conditions from mid-January to the end of February. The hot climate during the ripening period had toughened the skins of Semillon grapes and those that we picked early were still in good condition. The grapes for this wine were picked early in vintage from the old vines of our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold under slight pressure in old German Oak casks which has retained the rich fruit flavourand high green/gold colour of the Semillon grape. I believe this to be a top White wine of this vintage and like all great Hunters it will improve and develop if allowed to age in the bottle. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker."

This fine Hunter River White Burgundy was vintaged at Lindemans "Ben Ean" Cellars, Pokolbin, from Semillon grapes grown in the district. Label reads:" The 1977 vintage has produced White wines with full rich fruit character and the soft acid finish of the traditional Hunter White styles. This wine was made from Pinot Chardonnay grapes grown on our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold and then transferred to new French Oak hogsheads until bottling. The use of small Oak has assistedin making a wine of the classic White Burgundy style.
