The palate exhibits intense blood plum fruit flavours with refined nutmeg oak. A fine tannin structure combines with a rich and flavoursome finish. Label reads:"The 1975 Vintage in the Hunter Valley has produced light Whites similar to those of the 1972 Vintage. This wine was made from Traminer grapes grown in the Pokolbin district. Traminer is an early ripening variety and the grapes for this wine were amongst the first picked for the 1975 Vintage. The wine was fermented under very cold conditions to retain the natural aromatic characteristics of the Traminer variety. This wine has a high aromatic nose, a fruity slightly sweet palate and a clean spritzig finish. This wine will improve with further bottle ageing if stored at temperatures not exceeding 18° C. Label reads:" The 1976 Vintage in the Hunter Valley has produced White wines that are light and delicate with good fruit and a high acid finish. This vintage experience hot dry conditions through Spring and early Summer and then increasingly wet conditions from mid-January to the end of February. The hot climate during the ripening period had toughened the skins of Semillon grapes and those that we picked early were still in good condition. The grapes for this wine were picked early in vintage from the old vines of our Short Flat vineyard. The juice was fermented cold under slight pressure in old German Oak casks which has retained the rich fruit flavourand high green/gold colour of the Semillon grape. I believe this to be a top White wine of this vintage and like all great Hunters it will improve and develop if allowed to age in the bottle. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker."

This fine Hunter River White Burgundy was vintaged at Lindemans "Ben Ean" Cellars, Pokolbin, from Semillon grapes grown in the district. Bin 3670 has a medium greenish gold colour with pronounced bouqet displaying complex, honey-like mature Semillon character. The palate is soft and mellow with excellent flavour well balanced by a clean acid finish. A magnificent mature Hunter semillon still showing freshness and life...."
