Label reads:" This wine was made to the classic Sauterne style from Semillon and White Shiraz grapes grown in the Hunter Valley. The grapes were left out for a considerable time at the end of vintage to obtain the maximum sugar level. The sugar laden juice was allowed to ferment slowly until the fermentation was halted at approximately 9.5% sugar. The base material for this wine was vintaged in 1972 and has been matured in new Oak hogsheads for three years. This was blended with wine from the 1975 vintage to increase both freshnes and lusciousness of the final blend. I believe this is a fine dessert wine and one that will improve with proper cellar ageing. Murray D. Tyrrell Winemaker."

Label reads:" 1981 EDEN VALLEY RHINE RIESLING This wine typifiies the philosophy of Krondorf Winemakers Grant Burge and Ian Wilson which is to produce high quality table wines exhibiting distinct area and varietal Characteristics Each year only the highest quality Rhine Riesling grapes from the Eden Valley area are selected to produce this wine. The high altitude of the Eden district ensures cooler ripening conditions giving wines of elegance and finesse. Using controlled temperature techniques the winemakers were careful to capture maxium flavour and aroma from the grape variety. The wine was bottled in July 1981 and has been held in the cool Krondorf Cellars allowing it to settle and mature prior to release It shows elegance of style typical of the Eden Valley region and will continue to improve with further bottle maturation for two to three years.
