Visiting from Duluth is the rare EMD NW-5 from the Lake Superior Railroad Museum. GN 192 was built in December 1946 but looks practically brand new.
This is LSRM's 4th appearance at Train Days. Previously, LSRM has showcased:
Soo 2500 (2016)
Soo 700 (2019)
NP 3617 (2022)
GN 192 (2023)
What might be next?
This isn't 192's only stop on its short venture from Duluth, the 192 is planned for display at St Cloud for the GNRHS convention later in the summer. GN 400 will also attend St Cloud (tentatively), and was also planned to attend Train Days, but didn't make the trip.
Here, a brief pause in the foot traffic touring the cab of the 192 allowed a decent sunny shot on the platform at SPUD.
Thanks to Union Depot for hosting Train Days again, haven't missed one since it began in 2014, hoping that streak continues.

I love when black-necked stilts stop in Eugene during migration season. Saw 7 of them on Saturday which is more than I think I've ever seen at once in Eugene.

My contacts will probably remember Bonny, the White Great Horned Owl. She belongs to a local falconry and I have posted several photos of her already. Today the falconry celebrated the beginning of their new season with an open day. The weather could have been better but at least it stayed dry and of course I took many photos. I love all their birds but Bonny is my favourite which is why the first photo I post is a photo of her. More bird photos will follow and most likely another one or two of Bonny too. :)

* I have been to London countless times but until 2016 I had not visited Southwark Cathedral. It’s situated on the South Bank of the Thames near London Bridge not as well known as St Pauls or Westminster Abbey perhaps but it is rather splendid. It's very near the site of the original Globe theatre it is highly likely to have been where Shakespeare attended religious services.
This photograph shows the Humble Monument l it consists of three, beautifully carved, family members, kneeling, it particularly caught my eye when I visited the Cathedral. It is a monument to Richard Humble (died 1616) and his two wives, Margaret and Isabel and was made by Flemish refugee sculptors living and working on Bankside. The coffered arch is typical of their work which is sometimes referred to as “The Southwark School”. It was given a marbleised finish during an 1876 restoration unfortunately as it gives a very different feel to the original work. The Monument is on the left side of the High Alter this is seen in the background of this image
Southwark Cathedral records show that Humble, a city alderman, was a member of the church vestry – the laity helping with the day to day running of the church and its charities. It also notes that despite his involvement with the Church, he was once fined for allowing his sheep to graze in the churchyard without permission!

THANKS FOR YOUR VISITING BUT CAN I ASK YOU NOT TO FAVE AN IMAGE WITHOUT ALSO MAKING A COMMENT. MANY THANKS KEITH. ANYONE MAKING MULTIPLE FAVES WITHOUT COMMENTS WILL SIMPLY BE BLOCKED
Visiting neighbors can be a bit awkward if they are too big... At least Niks and Naks should have told Tarzan to leave his elephant outside.
