Since the war has began in my country, russian fascists destroyed a lot of architectural monuments in our cities. I took part in project MiNiMISTO ( www.instagram.com/minimisto.in.ua/ ) that now rebuilds in a virtual way (or in real bricks) some of destroyed buildings.

Yuriev's house was located on Mira avenue, 40 in Mariupol city (Donetsk region). Its history goes back to the end of XIX century, when lawyer Illya Yuriev built it.

The story of this building is quite dark. At first there was an editorial board, cinema, then orphanage, NKVD department (execution organization of USSR). During WWII secret police Gestapo was there. After that war the building was restored and 3rd floor was added.

In 2022 Yuriev's house was destroyed during the siege of Mariupol by russian fascist army.

On the left and right, there used to be barracks in which the prisoners stayed. They had 34 of them in total. KZ Dachau was initially designed to house 5000 people but at its peak in 1944, it housed ten-thousands. Today, only two baracks are left (near the main court). Others were demolished in 1964. Maintenance cost to keep all of them would be too high.
