Virtualization photos on Flickr

Thanks Andrés for asking I never need much encouragement to reveal these things :-) So, here goes: The base image was one of my favourites and one I'm quite proud of from 2012:

Then I applied a massive amount of vertical motion blur in photoshop. Boosted the contrast and colour saturation (heavily). Then I applied a layer mask and removed it from the central part of the image. To smooth off the transition I reapplied the motion blur and used a graduated filter and removed it again but made that more transparent.. Well, you did ask :-)

I'm not on Flickr quite as much these days and not finding quite as much time to take photos. I still do feel I have the passion for the hobby though, but I do like to keep a high level of consistency, and I do know that falls aside sometimes.. AS for Flickr, my great friends and contacts (still think this is the best community on the Internet bar none) keep me going with your inspiring work and also you appreciated words of encouragement. I apologise that I may not find quite as much time to comment but I really will try to reciprocate back.

A photo a friend of mine took while I was spinning a set in VR.

Neat detail: I have screens/overlays in vr showing me two things,

1. Using my webcam pointed at my mixer in RL, I can see my mixer in VR. Angle the overlay screen overtop of the fake vr mixer and now I see my true mixing board in vr space.

2. Same idea but for my software. Capturing my software window into an overlay, I now in vr, I see my software right above the mixer.

Combine this with controllerless hand tracking, and that's how I DJ in vr without taking my headset off, and you get stuff like this image :D
