"Picture yourself in a boat on a river,
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies..."
...............................................................................................................................................
We start out civilized enough I guess. Pleasant little boat ride down a canal, gaping in total amazement at some unbelievably ugly urban SL landscape.
I downloaded the latest SL client this evening and I am not sure if it is related but the Hasi's are gone! Uncle Solvang can't find them either...
I relogged with the windlight viewer, had this stupid idea that maybe they would show up with a different viewer - but no such luck. Meanwhile it grew dusky, and the colors, the way the beach is so deserted without my little guys really reflected how I felt. So...
And please don't say "so why don't you rez some new ones you silly thing?". Of course, I can do that, but what if the others eventually show up? Do I then delete 3 virtual friends just because they are now superfluous?
We seem to be outed: A lot of people seem to have already discovered the location of our shop, thanks to a wonderful blog post by Helena Stringer. So, although we still have a ways to go, here is the slurl to alpha.tribe:
The second international Workshop concerning the European Tele-Plateaus took place in the Medialab Prado, Madrid. More than 40 participants from the region attended.
Along with various ETP-artists, the workshop focussed on:
* Ensuring the technical networking and implementation of net-supported interaction of several distant participants
* Scheduling and advancement of interactive networked virtual envirnonments.
The participants of the workshop were offered the possibility to become acquainted with the functionality of the Camera-Motion-Sensing-System that is used in the context of ETP. They would be able to contribute in the technical, artistical and conceptual development. Under the leadership of reverso, terms of body-telematic presence should be ascertained, which are avoiding the presentation of precisely identifiable shapes and rather create spacial, acoustical and visual amorphous perceptions of presence. That way, a criticism on the model of the telematic communication in the information society should be raised.

On really big farms they plant crops with helis don't they?
Well, our crops are nukes! Hack and I start out at Syncretia and fly the length and breadth of the Archipelago planting nukes!!!
hhhh...
We are such GOOD examples to our students! It is absolutely mind boggling that they should be lucky enough to get educated by such fine, upstanding role models...

Even though the sim is brand new, apparently defense is still very much needed. So wolfie immediately sets to work, building a cannon platform at Syncretia Annex. This, as can readily be seen, is exhausting work which does take it's toll in the end... Meanwhile I perch myself on the platform he has just rezzed and admire the archipelago from a never before seen vantage point and of course the Mescaline Tammas presets...
We have a couple of popular games set up beside our Welcome area. Come play, listen to the sim's music stream and relax for a while: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/122/126/24
Jesus!!! Don't tell me that there is one at Klein too?
And it nuked me!!! Straight in the derriere... You cannot see me because I am actually right in the middle of that flame ball! But trust me, I am in there, dead center of that raging inferno - roasting away like Joan of Ark!
hhhhh

They all love their helis this bunch...
I'm flying...
I somehow end up getting catapulted out of the race boat that we are driving on land and find myself floating above Klein, Eiger and Ober

On its first birthday alpha.tribe would like to thank the small but dedicated group of followers without the support of whom we would certainly never have gotten this far!
However, it is now time to grow up! Or to close up ;-)...
Thus, some grown-up changes:

The crawler avatar is a pretty remarkable thing in itself. Here I have re-assembled the bits around Alpha, together with Vry Offcourse's Bronze Forge skin. I made some transparency changes to the avatar parts so that the human part can merge better with the mechanoid part. I will probably be re-assembling this avatar as a sculpture at Syncretia - I like it so much.
Again, lots of very similar shots here too.
