Making an outfit out of the jellyfish which I made for Syncretia was actually one of the very first things that I had in mind when I started making skins and apparel. It is now Alpho, our hybrid creatures specialist, who has undertaken this.

Men and women get the skins, the jellyfish "skirts", tendril spines and cheeks, a nice little skullcap and tendril shoes.

It was almost like a case of spontaneous combustion: wolfie's beautiful red Cadillac just went up in flames! In the middle of the shop! Thank goodness he wasn't in it himself at the time! (Too busy setting up the fuse from a safe distance, I would imagine...)

Lots of repeat shots here, but quite frankly, I am amazed that I kept enough of a clear head on my shoulders to be able to even take photographs at all! So, I do think that it is understandable that I may have overclicked!

This morning, in the aftermath of the calamity, the sad debris has been cleaned away and we are back to our everyday state of affairs. But what an evening it was!

Again I have added transparency to most of the prims that make up the original defender avatar of Flea Bussy and assembled them around Alpha to create the mechanoid/humanoid hybrid which is now posing on one of the hamster wheels at Syncretia. The skin is, yet again, Vry Offcourse's "Forge" skin...

What Hack and wolfie did defies speech and that is all that there is to it.

The two constructs are intertwined to such an extent that it is really hard to even understand where one ends and the other begins. And yet they have retained their individuality, their identity. And the utter grace of the swirling motion with which they rise and how that grace is coupled with such strength and force... My God!

I just stood there gobsmacked.

This is most definitely my one favorite structure anywhere in the metaverse. Putting anything near it/next to it is a huge challenge but I really take my hat off to wolfie: The S+R port really looks magnificent next to it.

And then of course, is the huge, white, blurry cube: Windlight, fog and the effects generated by that cube, which was apparently created by a gentleman named Gene Replacement really make for amazing photographs I think.

But, like I said, at the end of the day, I MADE HER... And that's gotta count for something too right? So, what would that something be then, I wonder?

A good sense of humor maybe?

The installation bringing together the Real and Second Lives of MosMax Hax/Max Moswitzer can be seen at Uqbar until February 9th.

I feel guilty in that I took these shots ages ago and what with one thing and another forgot to upload them. I went to visit Truthseeker in the sky above Extropia while I was writing about Singularapture for a blog post and that is when I took all these. In the meantime the place has been completely re-built:

I have not yet seen the new house btw.

The other two half-price offerings this week are from Our NEW Mini Landscape Range. With each border measuring approx 12m x 12m, yet each is also low prim and packed with colour and variety making them fantastic value for money mini-gardens: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Ferndale/118/135/25

MINI LANDSCAPE PACK 2 - 10 prims - 120L - flowers in 4 varieties - colours are deep pink, red, maroon and lemon with conifers and grasses

Photograph settings are SL defaults on Ultra and was taken on site at Two Moon Gardens using a midday setting. Everything else in the camera view was derendered and a prim with a library grass texture placed underneath the garden.

Some more wonders by Flea Bussy: A golem, a defender and a crawler. I shall be breaking them apart and combining them with "human" Alpha but they are so gorgeous as they are that I decided to photograph them in thier entirety first. Besides I need the fully non-humanoid avatars for comparison purposes anyway. So, these avatars are well differentiated into being non-human. As such they would have to fall outside the Valley threshold. But do they I wonder?

MosMax's slide...

It is a long long slide from a great height all the way into the water. You touch a red ball and land inside of it and get catapulted down. If you are in mouselook it is a somewhat grueling experience. The construction itself is a beautiful luminescent wireframe. I went down quite a few times while I took these and will be back for more...

A while ago Naxos Loon came to our shop. Sadly we fell far short of his approval since, as it turned out, nothing we had was macho enough for his exacting standards...

So, what on earth could possibly be more macho than a sailor!?!

hhh

This is yet another bit of old-work recycling. It used to be a poster designed for a design exhibition organized by the city of Daegu in Korea, hence the name of the outfit:

(And no, I am not from there. Never even been there... ;-)

The hair worn with this outfit is simply the best Mohawk in SL, I think. It can be obtained (as a dollarbie!!!) amongst the texture testers at Helena Stringer's store, the Mausoleum:

The second international Workshop concerning the European Tele-Plateaus took place in the Medialab Prado, Madrid. More than 40 participants from the region attended.

Along with various ETP-artists, the workshop focussed on:

* Ensuring the technical networking and implementation of net-supported interaction of several distant participants

* Scheduling and advancement of interactive networked virtual envirnonments.

The participants of the workshop were offered the possibility to become acquainted with the functionality of the Camera-Motion-Sensing-System that is used in the context of ETP. They would be able to contribute in the technical, artistical and conceptual development. Under the leadership of reverso, terms of body-telematic presence should be ascertained, which are avoiding the presentation of precisely identifiable shapes and rather create spacial, acoustical and visual amorphous perceptions of presence. That way, a criticism on the model of the telematic communication in the information society should be raised.

This very quiet and subtle piece is definitely my favorite work in the garden and I do want to make a special point and say that.

It is also extremely difficult work to photograph, due to the roaming nature of the beasties. I spent a lot of time and shot countless pix - however, this is the best that I could do. And still it ain't great!
