wolfie said this really wonderful thing a few weeks ago. We were hanging out on the roof of S+R one really calm, lovely evening and he came out and said "i love my life". Very simple, just like that...
That is exactly how I feel: A beautiful morning on Syncretia. I am playing the piano whilst engaged in a leisurely chat with Mossy on IM...

"I am an AHRC research fellow and I am investigating the performance of music in networked (and also virtual) environments.
We put on quite a big network performance at the end of last year which featured in SL. The performance took place on the November 29th, 2007 and was presented within the context of the EU Culture 2007 project COMEDIA between the Sonic Arts Research Centre, the Hochschule für Musik und Theatre in Hamburg and the Insitut für Elektronische Musik and Akustik (KUG Graz)."

Again, the Grendel's avatar is called incubus, which does not apply to a female, so Alpha is now the Fog Succubus. This time I colored the originally white prims to black and made them shiny. The skin is the grey version of the Frail skin by Vry Offcourse.
This one has ended up becoming more ominous, although for some strange reason I find the all white smoke succubus more unsettling. But, one way or another, although I enjoy taking these photos, I am feeling very alienated from Alpha as I do it. For the first time since I met her she is no longer a Simulacrum - I can not relate to her or to how she looks. AT ALL!
This is truly horrifiying. I had a really hard time doing this...
I saw the Cyborg skin on space ship designer Ichtyo Broome, but seeing it on someone else is not quite the same as putting it on yourself. I did have a sense that clothing Alpha in this skin would be a very difficult thing to do and it took me a really long time to even decide to go out and purchase the skin. But finally I did it yesterday. The bones are the bones of the whale avatar of Flea Bussy.
So, this is the end of the road for now: I have raked this as deep as I think can go at the moment without totally cracking up over it. One of my favorite writers is Mishima and what I think of as one of his best books is entitled "The Decay of the Angel". And that is what should probably be the title of these.

I think there will be more "colorized" outfits in the fullness of time (who can resist colorizing things in photoshop, eh?), so I am erring on the side of caution and naming this v.1.
This comes with a fat pack of colorized male/female skins (red, blue green and yellow), the body suit, the "skirt", a necklace, arm and leg attachments, boots and three color versions of the wonderful "anime" hair by Philips Replacement which I re-textured and added a lot of geometric ornaments to.

Simthetiq announced today a successful integration of a new functionality within the Bohemia Interactive Virtual Battle Space 2 (VBS2) platform. The addition—targeted towards battle tank simulators—incorporates a fully working, dynamic clock (peri-UHR), unlocking an added potential to the vehicle’s optics which would normally have remained static.
All this batch, and probably many more to come, feature a skin created by Loli Nori. If there is anything I know about, it is skin in Second Life and I have to say Loli's skin is simply the best I have come across anywhere in the metaverse - at any price range - for my facial requirements. And here is the amazing bit: These are freebies, to be found at Bare Rose. Now why Loli does not start up a skin salon and make a fortune, I truly do not know - but that is exactly how it is: These beauties are free!
The pants are by Alfred Kabuki, yet another favorite designer, combined with June Dion's "bandages" and (as an exception for these types of shots) some of my own humble attire...

After a long absence we are back with "Copper Celt" designed by Grapho: The medieval armor which was largely used for the attachments is a full permissions item by Wyld Magic which Grapho has minutely retextured as well as modified and added onto. This is a unisex outfit with skins and texture leotards for both sexes. All the attachments (and believe me there are a lot of them!) can be worn by men and women alike, although some scaling up may be called for where men are concerned. The ladies also get an extra skirt btw...

I am anxiously hoping that four agrees with me that nobody can possibly be as good as her virtuous white bird. So, for a bit of light relief, I am toting that angelic headdress of white feathers, headband and the cuffs from her white birdy wings package - coupled with an ominous piece of lingerie called Innamorata, designed by Devyn Grimm of Chaospire , Tekelili Tantalus' very aptly named Fleurs Du Mal boots , and just in case I need to do some unexpected heavy duty construction work, a pair of steel paws designed by June Dion of the Bare Rose.
For some unknown reason I have always been fascinated by old sea disaster paintings. So, Amina, who is the one best suited to the task at hand will be creating a series of these avatars which I then intend to use for constructing "genre photographs". hhh...
This comes with male/female skins where you get the disaster on your tummy (ouch!), garments, a sculpted body drape, leg drapes, belt/skirt, a bandana and shoes.

A conversation I had with Hack about SL versus RL appearance last night, plus the jealousy I exhibited over Alpha's gorgeous tresses earlier today prompted me to rummage in my inventory for clothes that are like my RL clothes. So, here's the first batch: Denim, black, combat boots - I even have a choker similar to this one that I wear occasionally... My hair is shorter, I do not normally wear this much make-up (if any at all, to be honest), and alas, no tail and cat ears/eyes either... hhhh
Sometimes the regular SL viewer beats Windlight and this is certainly one of those times: The way Synth Uni is visible in the background against the sunset is really good I think.

Our latest are two cyber avatars:
"Frequent Flier" has been created by Alpho Fullstop and takes its inspirations from aviation. You have all the signage and predominant colors of the runway mapped onto your bodysuit and the greatly stylized plane gets attached onto various parts of your body and legs.
"cyborg blues" is by Grapho Fullstop and is inspired by the Insilico sims. Wtih this one you get a helmet that protects you from the pollution, a torso plate with back fastened oxygen tanks, belts, upper leg braces and glow shoes.

Designed by Alpho Fullstop, this one is a historical diver's suit (hence the somewhat corny name of "Jules Verne")/cum hybrid creature for men and women, complete with neko and non-neko helmets, fins, oxygen tanks and a school of very funny fish to follow you around in your travels. We are giving away some original Arcadia Asylum attachments, which we completely re-textured, as a gift in a separate box to people who purchase the garment, which also has numerous attachments which we created.

Taking inspiration from Turkish novelist Orhan Pamuk's novel "My name is Red", this one involves Ottoman ornamentation. Men and women get the skin together with a body suit, the pennants, the shoulder pads, a belt with a sword and the Sultan boots.

Hookah's or nargile as we call them used to be a thing that one would occasionally see old men smoking when I was a kid. In later years they disappeared almost completely from Turkish culture - only to make a huge comeback over the past 10 years or so. Nowadays it is really young people of all backgrounds and appearance that puff away zealously at the 100s of nargile cafes that can be found all over the place.
I decided to create my own little nargile parlor, under the benevolent gaze of horses and lions. I like the way the hookah looks but much as I like the idea of smoking in the company of animals visually this doesn't look quite how I would like it to look. So, I will probably be rezzing this elsewhere and differently. For now I took the photos to remember the moment....

Can extreme beauty become scary, repulsive even, simply because it falls outside of the scope of what we recognize as human? Alpha is so beautiful here that I am in awe of her. In fact, this is the most removed that I have felt from her since I started on this little adventure in the Uncanny Valley.
Someone sat down and made these! Two someones in fact: All the attachments are designed by aoimizuno Meili, except for the cyborg feet. They are the work of of Marissa Lurra. The cybersuit has been designed by Tomby Karas and the drow skin is, once again, by Loli Nori.
