Belle Isle has seven miles of shoreline on the Northern Neck's Rappahannock River and provides access to Mulberry and Deep creeks. The park lets visitors explore a wide variety of tidal wetlands interspersed with farmland and upland forests.
The diverse habitats found in the park provide homes to many predator birds, such as blue herons, osprey, hawks and bald eagles. White-tailed deer, turkeys, groundhogs, rabbits, squirrels, moles, reptiles and amphibians are also common. There are eight distinct types of wetlands within the park.

May 2021. First Landing State Park (formerly Seashore State Park) offers recreational opportunities at Cape Henry in the independent city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. As the first planned state park of Virginia, First Landing is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Seashore State Park Historic District. A portion of the park is listed as a National Natural Landmark as part of the Seashore Natural Area.
The state park is near the site of the first landing on April 26, 1607 of Christopher Newport and the Virginia Company colonists before establishing themselves at Jamestown.
January 2022 Chippokes Plantation is one of the oldest continually farmed plantations in the country. A working farm since 1619, the park offers modern recreational activities and a glimpse of life in a bygone era. Visitors tour the historic area with its antebellum mansion and outbuildings, stroll through formal gardens, and view antique equipment at the Chippokes Farm and Forestry Museum.

At each end of High Bridge is a sign by the Commonwealth of Virginia identifying this railroad bridge now trail as a Historic Landmark. This sign here is at the west end, or Farmville side of the Bridge.

There is a bench behind Cabin #4 where you can sit and watch the lake. Of course, Serra would not get out of the shot due to something she found on the ground.

The Great Channels of Virginia is a natural preserve area filled with massive boulders that create long and winding rock mazes. The sandstone boulders are reported to be 400 million years old; they are located at the top of Clinch Mountain near Brumley Gap in the southwestern corner of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. The maze of boulders will blow your mind and make you think you've been transported to another world. Even though the trail to the top is a challenging 2.5 mile route, it is worth the effort to make the trek and explore this otherworldly place!
