At the Wilderness Road Blockhouse at Natural Tunnel State Park, on our spring break 2023 trip to visit several state parks in Southwestern Virginia.
Virginia Beach VA. Formerly known as Seashore State Park, this park is known as the northern-most location for Spanish Moss in the United States. It marks the site where the English settlers that founded Jamestown first set foot in what is now Virginia.
There are several "Buddy Sites" consisting of three separate lots that can be reserved as one lot. Here is a photo of Buddy Site #3.
May 2021. First Landing State Park (formerly Seashore State Park) offers recreational opportunities at Cape Henry in the independent city of Virginia Beach, Virginia. As the first planned state park of Virginia, First Landing is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Seashore State Park Historic District. A portion of the park is listed as a National Natural Landmark as part of the Seashore Natural Area.
The state park is near the site of the first landing on April 26, 1607 of Christopher Newport and the Virginia Company colonists before establishing themselves at Jamestown.
My Nikon 18-200mm VR lens was fresh out of the box. I went out for the first trial run with my kayak in a wetlands area and did some shooting. This photo was taken from about twenty feet away. I had'nt noticed the frog until I was at home and zoomed in on this image.

This site has a slope running down towards the back right and would require some leveling on the right side if backing in.
