This very active green heron was doing his best to attract the attention of another green heron nearby. When it flew off this one looked at me as if to share his frustration.
The Green Heron used to be considered the same species as the Striated Heron and the Galapagos or Lava Heron. The species was then known as the Green-backed Heron. Some taxonomies still treat them as subspecies.

Very often I take a photo with an image in my head. That sounds stupid I’m looking at the damn picture through the view finder, but what I mean is I have an image in my minds eye of what I want that photo to become. More often than not I fall short of my expectations. Usually the reason for this is that I’m following an ideal of something I’ve seen before, where is not important but it’s in my head, whatever the catalyst from the scene in front of me it was to far from that ideal that all the processing in the world was not going to get to where I was trying to go. So I end up experimenting to achieve a satisfactory compromise and I move on. However with this photo I feel I hit the nail on the head. Starting with taking the photo I took several interpretations over a few days, different lighting, including the sky or not and different focal lengths. Apart from the right light the focal length was really important as it needed a long one to compress the curve in path so it stood out, this in turn discounted the sky. So by now you’ve gathered I’m happy with this image, for now, If you have made it to here I would be interested to know if you can spot any influences in this image.

Very foggy morning this morning which I love for photographic purposes. I wish I had more time to shoot but didn't want to be too late to work. Stepped out of my macro groove for today. :)

It is very difficult to cope with this feeling, not knowing where you belong and not being able to internalize the place you live in is one of the heaviest burdens, it is not good for mental health, it is very difficult to struggle alone, but the nature and animals that surround me are always good companions for me.
If you want to see the statue up close, you can visit it from here. Who knows, maybe it will awaken completely different feelings in you.

A red wooden house, for me the landmark of Sweden.
According to what I heard people saying, this red pigment was extracted pigment from the tailings of the copper mine in the town Falun. The habit of painting their houses red became popular as an exterior paint a couple of centuries back.
A very colorful flycatcher named after its distinctive color - copper-Sulphate blue. Both the sexes are of similar color, but the female in this picture has a quite washed out /faded color while the male is more colorful They are upper canopy birds and could be heard in thick wooded areas and forests during winters. There were several of them and we had a wonderful time watching them play and forage on the upper canopy.
These are migratory birds to India from the Himalayan Forests / Southern China / South East Asia to South India during winters. They come in good numbers and are quite a favorite of photographers due to their distinctive color. We sighted several of them in their nesting grounds during the trip to the Himalayan forests earlier this month - they were nesting in roadside bushes. I was quite delighted to see so many of them and up close - I love their distinctive color and calls.
Thanks in advance for your views and feedback. Much appreciated.
