For a long time, I'd always wanted to sing at the Open Mic Night at the little bar around the corner from my place. However, history taught me that many people didn't really like the sound of my singing voice. I often practiced but no matter what, I was teased every time I sang around friends or family.
I'd discovered the little bar a while ago and had started going over on Friday nights. I watched as week after week, people went up there and did their best. They were so good! I wanted to try it so bad but I was too embarrassed.
So...I practiced. I would practice on my ride home from work, to the grocery store, whenever I had some time alone. After a couple of months, I decided I was as good as I wanna gonna get.
So Friday night rolled around as it did every week. I sat at my usual table and fidgeted as other singers went up to put in their requests. Feeling nervous as all hell, I got up before I convinced myself otherwise! I strode up the to DJ and she smiled and winked. "I was wondering when you were going to come up here, sweetheart," she teased, offering me the paper to write down my song requests. "You can put down up to four." I smiled nervously and nodded, writing down only the one before sitting back down.
Finally after about twenty minutes, it was my turn. I heard my name called out by the DJ. Blushing, I made my way up to the stage and stared out at the faces. 'Ignore them. Ignore them,' I told myself silently.
As the music began to play, all the lights dimmed and the spotlight shined down on me. My cue was very suddenly upon me and without thinking, I began to sing.
I closed my eyes and let the swells of the music move through me and I began to get really into the song; ignoring all else as the emotions filled me. And as I sang, I began to realize that I wasn't singing half bad. It...actually sounded good!
As I began to approach the bridge and go for the final chorus, I opened my eyes just a touch...and saw that everyone was on the edge of their seats, listening to me sing so wonderfully. Between that and the emotion of the song, I began to feel tears slide down my cheeks in the light as for the moment, I felt like I could do anything and that I was a star!
When the song began to end, there was a super loud applause and lots of cheers as the lights came on. I couldn't help but smile and laugh, wiping my eyes free of tears. It had truly been a wonderful experience after all. I'm glad I jumped.

The white-tailed eagle is the largest UK bird of prey. It has brown body plumage with a conspicuously pale head and neck which can be almost white in older birds, and the tail feathers of adults are white. In flight it has massive long, broad wings with 'fingered' ends. Its head protrudes and it has a short, wedge-shaped tail.
This Schedule 1 species went extinct in the UK during the early 20th century, due to illegal killing, and the present population is descended from reintroduced birds.
What they eat:
White-tailed eagles are versatile and opportunistic hunters and carrion feeders, sometimes pirating food from other birds and even otters. They eat largely fish, but also take various birds, rabbits and hares.
Some pairs kill many fulmars, which are thought to be the source of DDT and PCBs (chemicals) recorded in eagle eggs. Carrion is an important part of their diet, especially during the winter months. Most lambs are taken as carrion.
When fishing, they fly low over water, stop to hover for a moment and drop to snatch fish from the surface.
During the breeding season while they are rearing young, they require 500-600g of food per day. This drops to 200-300g per day during the winter months when the birds are less active.

Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm lens is the most versatile I used. This one is for Praktica mount and f2.4. It does not have MfD as close as f2.8 version, but it is close enough to never need to use additional helicoid.
Take a few steps back, and it is an excellent landscape or street photo lens. It manages backlight with ease and grace.
Colours need no or very little processing. Black and white rendering is vintage looking. With a bit of processing, it becomes quite modern to my eye.

The Highlands Ranch Holiday Celebration returned to the Highlands Ranch Mansion this year. The temp was mild, the sky was clear...all that was missing was some snow!
I don't have much experience with Event Photography so I just tried to capture a little of everything. I took around 200 shots during the morning and ended up with maybe 5 decent ones, lol! It was pretty tough to get shots without somebody's head, arm, or butt (!) intruding on the scene. C'est la vie. : )

I have always marveled at how perfectly straight the rows are in farm fields. I understand that in today's ag operations there are GPS guidance systems designed especially for tractors that keep the row as straight as possible, sometimes even having an auto steer feature. Fascinating. This field looks like it's ready for this year's crop to grow.

Pekka Halonen is one of the most beloved artists of the ‘Golden Era’ of Finnish art. A versatile artist and master portrayer of Finnish landscapes and people, he absorbed the latest international trends and ingeniously applied these to the depiction of Finnish nature. The countryside around Lake Tuusula provided him with a rich source of ideas and inspiration, and it was there that Halonen developed the distinctive style for which he is renowned.

Halosenniemi studioHalonen’s studio was opened to the public in the 1950s. Today the museum specialises in presenting material related to Halonen’s art, his lifetime achievements and the famous artists’ colony of Tuusula to which he and his friends belonged.

Starting in a week or so I'll be recording a series of videos designed to show you how to style your wigs after shipping and how to achieve certain looks.
I'm a horrible hair stylist and my hair actually resembles a dishevelled squirrel or abandoned nest at the best of times BUT since soy is such a versatile material, you can really do a lot with it with minimal effort and/or skill.
Above is an example of what can be done with our short cut, to make it a bit more realistic looking. Soy doesn't have to be all brushed down and smooth all the time!
The versatile C-45 family of transport and trainer aircraft began life in 1937 as the Beechcraft Model 18 light twin. The Model 18s were widely accepted by commercial aviation operators as a good economical short haul transport prior to the war. The Army Air Corps saw its commercial success and ordered 11 aircraft prior to the beginning of World War II. At the outbreak of the war, the Army Air Corps ordered the C-45 into production. Although used primarily as a transport aircraft, the C-45 was also produced in the AT-7 navigational training, AT-11 bombardier/gunnery training and the F-2 photo reconnaissance trainer versions. By the end of the war, Beech had built 4,526 examples of the C-45 and its variants.
I think this is the first airplane that I've actually completed. I started a C-47, Mosquito and F-22 but unfortunately they have remained WIPs. I am attracted to graceful aircraft an the Twin-Beech is absolutely beautiful. I plan on building more in different color schemes so stay tuned. (I also have about five models/ builds to upload)

After my solo skateboarding session at the skate park, I headed home, still feeling that post-skate buzz. A warm shower was exacrtl what I needed also being able to have my new ink

monso this pony sure does make the look so the warm shower is truly needed, and as the water washed away the dustand sweat, I started thinkin about dinner. I had been waiting for the perfect
moment to wear not only my second wig from tram but also the new outfit I ordered from Tres Blah, along with these adorable pearl bow heels from Mantra plus my new accessories from both
Yummy and babyboo and tonight really felt like the right time. Slipping into the outfit, I admired the fit. Tres Blah always nailed that blend of chic and casual, perfect for a night
out at the new bistro in Portofino. The sun had just begun to set as I arrived, casting a warm glow over the outdoor seating area. I was lucky there was a beautiful table open outside,
tucked away enough for a little privacy but with a great view of path where the vines twirled and bloomed beautiful flowers on the gates. As I settled in, I decided to start my evening with
something special s'mores old fashioned from ChicChica. The drink arrived in a glass that looked as good as it tasted, the sweetness of the marshmallow and chocolate blending perfectly
with the smoky bourbon. It was the ideal start to what I knew would be a relaxing, enjoyable evening.
