Versatile Peruvian Zinnias are at home in cottage gardens, as a mass planting, and among meadow flowers. An easy-care annual wildflower that will bloom all summer, it produces an abundance of red, nectar-rich flowers that attract butterflies and bees. The 1-1/2" diameter blooms perch on tall stems, making them delightful as cut flowers, too. Peruvian Zinnia is native to the Southwest US; it prefers full sun and, once established, tolerates dry soils, though it adapts to most soil types. Direct sow seeds in the garden after all danger of frost is past, or get a head start by sowing seeds indoors about a month before your last spring frost date. If you allow some flowers to mature and form seedpods, the seeds may self-sow and, in mild climates, create a naturalized planting that will return every year.

“Nothing in the world is more flexible and yielding than water. Yet when it attacks the firm and the strong, none can withstand it, because they have no way to change it. So the flexible overcome the adamant, the yielding overcome the forceful. Everyone knows this, but no one can do it.” - Lao Tzu

The problem of versatility is that you only know the basics.

Drive slow

Where we goin', ain't no time zone

'Cause my home

Is wherever you and I go (let's go)

Got all this life, but I'm not livin' here without you

Got all this time, don't wanna spend it all without you

And I know

We gotta fall in with our eyes closed

I just need you tonight

'Cause I don't wanna waste the rest of my life

All I need is you plus me, every day of the week

Minus the distance

I just need you tonight

'Cause whenever you stay, I feel so alive

All I need is you plus me, every day of the week

Minus the distance...

Here you can see the same location and the same moment that appeared on the previous photo. Same Baikal lake shore and same sunset in August. That day showed us how impressively versatile Baikal lake could be.

And probably the most inspired idea we had at that moment was - we are in the heart of Siberia contemplating such beauty sitting on the sea shore. Ain't it fantastic?!

Versatile Assassins - Young & Beautiful

I've seen the world, done it all

Had my cake now

Diamonds, brilliant, in Bel-Air now

Hot summer nights, mid July

When you and I were forever wild

The crazy days, city lights

The way you'd play with me like a child

Will you still love me

When I'm no longer young and beautiful?

Will you still love me

When I've got nothing but my aching soul?

I know you will, I know you will

I know that you will

Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?

I've seen the world, lit it up

As my stage now

Channeling angels in a new age now

Hot summer days, rock and roll

The way you play for me at your show

And all the ways, I got to know

Your pretty face and electric soul

Will you still love me

When I'm no longer young and beautiful?

Will you still love me

When I've got nothing…

Toying was inspired by the brand new pose from Be My Mannequin? Pose Store: Something New. This particular pose was inspired by the love the creator had for those he cares about. I knew I couldn't do this one injustice by snapping just any picture. This pose is a very versatile pose and is great from any angle (seriously!). However, this is what came to mind when I was brainstorming how to portray such a wonderful creation! I know you'll love Something New as well, and you can find it in the main store on Second Life or on the marketplace!

Man's greatest question is "Where did we come from?" or any of the many variations of it. Its hard to imagine that there's not something up there spinning and weaving the universe as it sees fit; toying with it all. Is there really some magical, mystical reasoning for all this? Or are we, as a universe, just a toy for some being above?

CC Most Versatile - Break the pattern

The Australian magpie (Gymnorhina tibicen) is a medium-sized black and white passerine bird native to Australia and southern New Guinea. Although once considered to be three separate species, it is now considered to be one, with nine recognised subspecies. A member of the Artamidae, the Australian magpie is placed in its own genus and is most closely related to the black butcherbird (Melloria quoyi). Currawongs have yellow eyes, whereas Magpies have red-brown eyes and Butcherbirds have very dark brown, almost black eyes. It is not, however, closely related to the European magpie, which is a corvid. The adult Australian magpie is a fairly robust bird ranging from 37 to 43 cm in length, with distinctive black and white plumage, gold brown eyes and a solid wedge-shaped bluish-white and black bill. The male and female are similar in appearance, and can be distinguished by differences in back markings. The male has pure white feathers on the back of the head and the female has white blending to grey feathers on the back of the head. With its long legs, the Australian magpie walks rather than waddles or hops and spends much time on the ground. Described as one of Australia's most accomplished songbirds, the Australian magpie has an array of complex vocalisations. It is omnivorous, with the bulk of its varied diet made up of invertebrates. It is generally sedentary and territorial throughout its range. Common and widespread, it has adapted well to human habitation and is a familiar bird of parks, gardens and farmland in Australia and New Guinea. This species is commonly fed by households around the country, but in spring (and occasionally in autumn) a small minority of breeding magpies (almost always males) become aggressive and swoop and attack those who approach their nests.

The common raven (Corvus corax), also known as the northern raven, is a large all-black passerine bird. Found across the Northern Hemisphere, it is the most widely distributed of all corvids. There are at least eight subspecies with little variation in appearance, although recent research has demonstrated significant genetic differences among populations from various regions. It is one of the two largest corvids, alongside the thick-billed raven, and is possibly the heaviest passerine bird; at maturity, the common raven averages 63 centimetres in length and 1.2 kilograms in mass. Common ravens can live up to 21 years in the wild, a lifespan surpassed among passerines by only a few Australasian species such as the satin bowerbird and probably the lyrebirds. Young birds may travel in flocks but later mate for life, with each mated pair defending a territory. Common ravens have coexisted with humans for thousands of years and in some areas have been so numerous that people have regarded them as pests. Part of their success as a species is due to their omnivorous diet; they are extremely versatile and opportunistic in finding sources of nutrition, feeding on carrion, insects, cereal grains, berries, fruit, small animals, nesting birds, and food waste. Some notable feats of problem-solving provide evidence that the common raven is unusually intelligent. Over the centuries, it has been the subject of mythology, folklore, art, and literature. In many cultures, including the indigenous cultures of Scandinavia, ancient Ireland and Wales, Bhutan, the northwest coast of North America, and Siberia and northeast Asia, the common raven has been revered as a spiritual figure or godlike creature. 67375

Patrick Smith is a versatile and in-demand sax player. I've probably seen him with more bands than anyone else. At the Old Mill, he was in the band with Queen Pepper. It turned out to be quite a party. They started at midnight and were still going strong, when I left around 1:00 AM.

First I have seen Patrick playing in the parks during the Pandemania, but since then, he is well established, playing in the best Toronto jazz clubs. Patrick is frequent guest in New York City clubs. He played in several jazz festivals in North America and Europe. He teaches sax, but also still learns in workshops with veteran players in Toronto (Mike Murley, Kelly Jefferson) and NYC (Mark Shim). This year UNISON fundraising was again a success. Not sure about the financial side, but if you have a choice of 22 top Toronto's jazz bands (in 10 party rooms of the Old Mil), the entertainment was quarantined.

The Stanley Cup hockey playoffs left him a bit of an outsider in last few days, as he is an Ottawa (his home town) Senators fan and they are playing with the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Leafs prevailed and all is good in the music scene.;-)

What a versatile plant. I was aware that the Hibiscus can be used for tea. However, dried Hibiscus is edible, can be used as a candy and as a garnish.

When reading more about this plant, Wikipedia stated, "Contrary to popular assumptions that the flowers or petals are what is being eaten, it is the calyces." If you want clarification, just check out the link below.

A few Airbus A320 from a few days at LAX.

When I'm at the airport, I can't tell much difference between the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737. They look similar. Here's a bit more about 'em:

First made in 1984, this plane is said to be "the most successful and versatile jetliner ever". Typically they hold 140-170 passengers, have a range of 3,000+ miles, and are made in France, Germany, China and the U.S.

Azaleas are versatile shrubs that add vibrant color to spring gardens with their broad range of white, purple, yellow, and red funnel-shaped blooms.

Ravine Gardens State Park

The garden's peak flowering period is azalea season, January to March. The hundreds of remaining azaleas have a "rolling bloom" and top out with about 50% to 60% of the plants blooming simultaneously. A recent survey documented 18 different types of azaleas. The season is variable based on weather conditions.

Versatile Drizzling: Perfect for effortlessly drizzling honey, maple syrup, blackstrap molasses, melted chocolate, caramel, and more onto your favorite dishes.

This is New York City shot at the corner of Bond and Lafayette streets. I like this shot in black and white, which is what I started out with back in the days before digital photography, back when you went out on your shoots with 20 rolls of film that would be developed later in your darkroom.

I do a lot of street photography with the versatile Olympus lightweight and portable mirrorless E-M1 Mark II Micro four=thirds camera and an Olympus Pro M.12-40mm F2.8 zoom lens. While this is an amazing zoom, I wonder what lies ahead, in better weather, when I shoot the streets with my newly acquired prime 12mm and 25mm (24mm & 50mm full frame equivalents) and how that might affect my photography.

Parenthetically, I often look at what equipment other contributors on Flickr use to get a particular shot. I learn a lot that way and it is one major reason why I spend time on Flickr and have a pro account. I'm disappointed when there's no info provided by others, or worse, when they are using artificially constructed non-photographic images to pass for real photography.
